Description
Monoazofarbstoffe aus den im beanspruch ten Verfahren Verwendung findenden Diazo- verbindungen aus 1-Amino-2-alkyloxybenzol-5- carbonsäureamiden und 2,3 - Oxynaphthoe- säurearylamiden ähnlicher Zusammensetzung sind zwar bereits in der deutschen Patent schrift Nr. 613234 zum Färben von hochmole kularen organischen plastischen Massen, ins besondere von Kautschuk und kautschukähn lichen Substanzen, benutzt worden;
Process for the preparation of a water-insoluble monoazo dye. It has been found that water-insoluble monoazo dyes are obtained if the diazo compounds of 1-amino-2-alkyloxybenzene-5-carboxamides with aryl amides of 2,3-oxynaphthoic acid have the general composition
EMI0001.0012
in substance, on the fiber or on a substrate,
where one of the two substituents X1 and X @ should be a halogen atom, the other should be an -OB radical, R stands for a methyl or ethyl group, Y stands for hydrogen, an alkyloxy group or a halogen atom, and the azo components as above % means that they do not contain any water-soluble groups, e.g. B. contain sulfonic acid or carboxylic acid groups.
The dyes can be produced on the lifeline fiber, including regenerated cellulose, in dyeing or printing according to the known methods of ice colors, as well as in substance. The pigment dyes obtained in the latter case can be applied to textiles by padding or in), pigment printing processes and also - when added to the spinning solutions - to produce spun-dyed acetate rayon and viscose rayon.
They are also suitable for the preparation of very real color lacquers and can still be used to produce colored films in bulk from cellulose esters or ethers, or for coloring natural and synthetic resins - such as the condensation products of formaldehyde and urea, phenols or Amines - are used.
Monoazo dyes from the diazo compounds of 1-amino-2-alkyloxybenzene-5-carboxamides and 2,3 - oxynaphthoic acid arylamides of a similar composition are already in German Patent No. 613234 for dyeing high molecular weight organic plastic masses, in particular rubber and rubber-like substances, have been used;
However, nothing could be inferred from this about the usefulness of such combinations in other areas of use, especially in textile dyeing and printing. On the contrary, it was initially to be expected that, given the relatively easy saponification of the carboxamide group, as it is present in the diazo components, the dyes of a hot aqueous-alkaline treatment, which is of great importance for textile dyeing and printing, not withstand.
In fact, the majority of the known azo dyes on the fiber are not sufficiently boil-proof, while the dyes, the production of which is the subject of the process according to the invention, surprisingly show very good fastness behavior.
The result is bluish red to burgundy red color shades of great luminosity, which are of high technical value above all because, as pink shades on the fiber, they combine very good lightfastness with excellent waterfastness.
The subject matter of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a water-insoluble monoazo dye, which is characterized in that the diazo compound is attached to the 1- amino-2-methoxybenzene-5-carboxamide with 1- (2 ', 3'-OxS- naphthoyl-amino) -2,5-dirnethoxy-4-chlorobenzene.
Example: 8.3 parts of 1-amino-2-methoxybenzene-5-carboxamide are diazotized in the usual way. Sodium acetate is then added to the diazo solution to remove the excess mineral acid and it is stirred into an aqueous suspension of 17.9 parts by weight of 1- (2 ', 3'-oxynaphthoylamino) -2,5-dimethoxy-4-chlorobenzene, which is obtained by dissolving this compound in dilute sodium hydroxide solution and precipitating with acetic acid.
The dye, which forms rapidly on heating to 40 ° C., is filtered off after the coupling has ended, the titanium is washed out and dried.
The product thus obtained is a red powder that can be used to produce pigment prints on textiles, to produce spun-dyed acetate and viscose silk, to produce colored lacquers and to dye condensation products from formaldehyde and urea, phenols or amines . Produced on the vegetable fiber, including regenerated cell silose, delivers. the dye lively red tones with good cooking and light fastness.
