Workbench lamp. The object of the present invention is a workbench lamp fixed to a support integral with the workbench.
The object of the invention is to provide a table lamp with a vertical upright and a more or less horizontal arm so that, this lamp being. attached to the rear edge of the workbench, its upright does not prevent work boxes from being piled up on the workbench, for example. In addition, said lamp must be sufficiently mobile to be able to be brought into the desired position, in order to provide adequate lighting. the workplace.
Finally, where this lamp is. out of service, it must be able to be folded up on itself without being removed from the workbench, so as to. occupy as little space as possible behind the workbench, (preferably so as not to protrude significantly beyond the workbench, neither below nor above.
The lamp, object. of the invention, is earae- térisé in that it comprises a foot, an upright, a telescopic arm and. a socket, these elements being connected at their ends each to the next ,. by means of at least one articulation, the foot being fixed to the support.
One embodiment of the lamp, object of the invention, is. shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing, in which: the fi. 1 is a side view, Fig.2 a view from the left of the puller. 3 is a plan view of the lamp folded back on itself, when it is out of service.
Fig. 4 shows a detail in elevation, and FIG. 5 shows the detail of FIG. 4 in plan.
Referring to fig.1 and 2, the lamp is fixed to the rear of a workbench 1, by the intermediary of a support 2 screwed to the posterior edge of this workbench.
A foot 3 is fixed to the support 2 by means of a cylindrical part 4 engaged in a cage 5 secured to the support, also cylindrical, in order to allow rotation of the foot around the axis of its cylindrical part 4. The position of foot 3 in relation to support 2 is. secured by a clamping screw 6.
A cylindrical upright 7 is articulated by its lower end; on the foot 3, by means of a bolt 8. In order to ensure the vertical position of the upright 7, the latter is provided with a stop 9 at its part. lower, this stop coming into contact with the support 2 and preventing the upright 7 -from turning anti-clockwise in fig. 2.
The upright 7 is hollow, and an intermediate part 10 has a cylindrical part 11 (fig. 2) which is engaged in the upper part of said upright. The part 10 can thus rotate around the axis of the upright and its position. is ensured by a tightening screw 12 engaged in a groove 13 of part 11 of part 10.
A telescopic arm, comprising the two cylindrical parts 14 and 15, is articulated at its rear end on the part 10, thanks to the bolt 16. The position of the. part 1.1 inside the part 15 is provided axially and angularly by a clamping screw 17.
A socket 18 est. articulated around the axis 19, at the end of the part 14 of the telescopic arm. Finally, a reflector 20 is attached to the socket 18.
Fixing the reflector to the socket is. shown in detail in fig. 4 and 5. The sleeve 18 has a threaded bearing surface 21, and a plate 22, provided with a finger 23, is made integral with it. The reflector 20 is. pinched between two plates 24 and. 28, of which it is made integral by a pin 25 planted in the plate 24 and engaged in a notch 29 of the plate 28. The reflector can. thus pivot around the scope 21; on which it is held axially in place by a nut 26, secured by a screw 27.
As can be seen in particular at. fig. 5, the finger 23 allows a rotation of nearly 360 of the reflector 20.
The electric cord 30 (fig. 1, 2) arrives at the reflector 20 by freely crossing, in a manner not shown, the socket 18 and the parts 14 and 15 of the telescopic arm of the posterior opening from which it escapes freely.
Thanks to the arrangement of this lamp and in particular to the vertical position of the upright 7, it is. possible to pile work boxes 31 on the workbench, without being hampered by the lamp.
It is easy to see that the various articulations and moving parts described allow this. to bring the lamp at will in any position.
In particular, when it is. out of service, she can. be folded back on itself as shown in fig. 3.
To bring the. lamp in the position of the. fig. 3 from that shown in Figs.1 and 2, the part 14 is first rotated by 180 inside the part 15 while retracting it. completely inside the latter, then the reflector 20 is rotated by 90 around the socket 18, the telescopic arm is folded along the upright 7, around the articulation 16, the intermediate part 1.0 is rotated from 180 to. inside the upright 7, and finally the latter of 90 is folded around the S joint.
In this position, the upright 7, the telescopic arm and the reflector 20 are horizontal and parallel to each other. The reflector is turned towards a wall. 32 located behind the workbench. The lamp described then completely frees the surface of the workbench, without going beyond it appreciably, neither above nor below.
Always without it being. necessary to lift the lamp from the workbench, it can, depending on the space available, fold it at will in other positions, when it is. out of service.
