Process for the production of a copper-compatible disazo carbate. It has been found that valuable new disazo dyes are obtained if one mol of the diazo compound is obtained from an optionally coppered amino monoazo dye of the composition
EMI0001.0011
where x is hydrogen, low molecular weight alkyl (e.g.
B. methyl), low molecular weight alkoxy (e.g. methoxy) or -S03H, one y -OH, the other y -OH, -OCHS or -COOH, Alky 1 is a low molecular weight alkyl radical (e.g.
B. methyl), and y-R a radical of the benzene =, naphthalene or pyrazolone series be mean, with the adhering to the radical R in the ortho position to -N = N-, with one mole of an oxynaphthalenesulfonic acid of the composition
EMI0001.0030
where z is hydrogen, halogen (e.g.
Chlorine) or -SO3H, and A denotes the amino group or an aylamino group, couples, in the disazo dye obtained, if A stands for the amino group, this is converted into an acyl aminogroup by treatment with an acylamino group and optionally the disazo dye in substance or on the Fiber treated with a copper releasing agent.
A number of the disazo dyes obtainable after the aforementioned first embodiment of the process can also be prepared in such a way that one mole of the diazo compound is obtained from an amino monoazo dye of the composition
EMI0002.0001
where alkyl, x, z and A are as defined above and y 'is -01I, -OCHS or -COOH,
combined with a connection of the oxybenzene, oxynaphthalene or pyrazolone series which couples in ortho position to the hydroxyl group, here too in the disazo dye obtained the amino group A which may be present is converted into an aeylamino group by treatment with an acylating agent transferred and treated the dye in substance or on the fiber with a copper-releasing agent.
The preparation of the new disazo dyes according to the first embodiment of the process is advantageously carried out in such a way that the aminomonoazo dyes of the composition (I) are diazotized in an indirect manner. To do this, the dyes are dissolved in water,
adds the necessary amount of sodium nitrite to the solution and then uses hydrochloric acid to make it clearly minerally acidic. The coupling of the diazo compounds obtained with the oxynaphthalenesulfonic acids is preferably carried out in an alkaline medium.
In the event that A signifies the amino group, suitable acylating agents are the functional compounds of the carboxylic acids on which the acylamino radicals A are based, such as, for example, acetyl chloride, benzoyl chloride, alkyl chloroformate and many others more.
The coupling of the diazo compounds of the composition (III) with the compounds of the oxybenzene, oxynaplithalin or pyrazolone series coupling in the ortho position to the hydroxyl group according to the second type of preparation is advantageous.
in alkaline 31edium, if necessary in the presence of pyridine or other similarly acting organic bases. The disazo dyes obtained according to the first embodiment of the process are either already present as copper complex compounds or, like the products obtainable according to the second method of preparation, have a copper-compatible ortlio-oxyortlio'-oxy or
Methoxy or carboxy azo group. The coppering of the disazo dyes on the fiber can be done by a single bath or sewing metallization process, the one in substance about d'ureh heating the dyes with copper salts in a weakly acidic to alkaline medium, possibly with the application of pressure and / or in the presence of ammonia or organic bases,
or in the melt of alkali metal salts of low molecular weight aliphatic carboxylic acids. If one of the substituents enabling the formation of copper complexes is the methoxy group, the coppering is advantageously carried out with splitting up of this group.
The amino monoazo dyes of the composition (I) used in the first embodiment of the process are obtained, for example, by using amines of the composition
EMI0002.0091
wherein x, y and 3 - R have the meaning mentioned at the beginning, with. 3-Alkyl-4-nitrobenzene-1-carboxylic acid halides are condensed to give 3-alkyl-4-nit.robenzene-1-carboxamides and then converted into the nitro group by reduction into the amino group.
The diazo compounds of the amino monoazo dyes of the composition (11I) used in the second method of preparation of the disazo dyes are obtained, for example, by tetrazotizing the diamines of the composition
EMI0003.0006
where alkyl, x and y 'have the meaning mentioned above,
and by one-sided coupling of the tetrazo compounds obtained in this way with the oxyna.phthalinsulphonic acids as defined. This coupling is preferably carried out in a weakly alkaline or acidic medium.
Both the metal-containing and the new disazo dyes metallized on the fiber produce relatively lively yellowish to bluish red shades of good lightfastness and washfastness on cotton and fibers made from regenerated cellulose.
The dyeings produced with the new disazo dyes can also be partially obtained by an aftertreatment carried out in the presence of salts of divalent copper with imino or amino group-containing polymer compounds, such as those obtained, for example, according to Patent No. 253709 and its supplementary patents are to improve their authenticity properties.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a copperable disazo dye, which consists in that 1 mol of the tetrazotized '1- (4'-amino-3'-methyl) by coupling
-ben- zo @ -lamino-4-aminobenzene-3-carboxylic acid with 2-carbethoxyamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid available diazomonoazo compound with 1 mol of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone kup pelt.
In the following example, the parts are parts by weight.
Example: A neutral, 8-10 cold suspension of the 1- (4'-amino-3'-methyl) -benzoylamino-4-aminobenzene- 3-carboxylic acid with 33.3 parts of 2-carbäthoxyamino- 5 - oxynaphthalene - 7 - sulfonic acid sodium available diazomonoazo intermediate compound is within one hour in a warm solution of 19 parts of 1-phenyl-3-methy'1-5 -pyrazolone,
Poured 17 parts of 30% sodium hydroxide solution, 300 parts of pyridine and 500 parts of water. The disazo dye formed separates out and is filtered off, washed and net getrock. It dyes cotton in the re-coppering process in scarlet shades of good lightfastness and washfastness.
The above-mentioned diazomonoazo suspension is obtained if 28.5 parts of 1- (4'-amino-3'-methyl) -benzoylamino-4-amino-benzene-3-carboxylic acid are stirred in 800 parts of ice water Slurry with 50 parts of 30a / aiger hydrochloric acid and then at 0 with. 46 parts of 30% sodium nitrite solution is set.
A solution of 33.3 parts of 2-carbäthoxyamino-5-oxynaphthalene-7-sulfonic acid sodium in 400 parts of water is allowed to run in to the tetrazo solution, the temperature of the coupling compound is set to 8 to 10 and it is added in portions within an hour 20 parts of sodium bicarbonate. After the mass has been neutralized, stirring is continued for 2 hours at 8-10.
Only the diazo group on the benzoyl radical couples. The resulting diazomonoazo compound is precipitated in orange-red crystals.
