Automatic machine for the continuous pressing of fruits, especially oranges. The present invention relates to an automatic machine for the continuous pressing of fruits, in particular oranges.
This machine is characterized by the fact that it comprises a pressing chamber provided with two opposite walls of which at least one is movable, each of these walls comprising at least two surfaces forming a dihedron, the top of the dihedral formed by the wall. mobile being provided with a sharp edge projecting towards the interior of the chamber, this mobile wall being connected to motor elements serving to move it alternately against the other wall, the machine further comprising means for supplying the chamber bre of pressing with at least the fruit at the same time and means allowing to evacuate the pressed fruit and its juice.
The appended drawing shows schematically an embodiment of the subject of the invention, given by way of example.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section in elevation.
Fig. 2 is a sectional plan taken along line 2-2 of FIG. 1.
In the figures, 10 designates an inclined guide brawling in the form of a channel in which one can place various fruits of rounded shape 11. Thanks to the inclination of this guide, the fruits tend to roll along it and arrive. at its end which opens vertically into the pressing chamber 12 described below. The fixed guide 10 is com bined with a similar movable guide 13 which is opposite it and which is mounted in an adjustable manner, so that the distance between the two guides can be adjusted at will according to the size of the fruit to be pressed.
The control device of the movable guide 13 comprises a rotary rod 14, threaded at 15 and provided with a control wheel 16. This rod 14- is engaged in a tapped opening of a part 17 integral with the frame of the machine. , so that by actuating the steering wheel 16 in the desired direction, one can approach or move away the movable guide 13 from the fixed guide 10 to the desired extent.
The pressing chamber 12 is formed of an external part 18 fixed relative to the frame of the machine and constituting a wall of the pressing chamber 12. This wall 18 is mounted in an easily removable manner to allow the opening of the pressing chamber. the chamber and its complete cleaning, for example by means of hand operated rods or the like.
Part 18 has a cross section visible in fig. 2 and comprises two planes 19 forming a dihedron, the concave part of which is directed towards the interior of the chamber 12 and having its edge placed vertically and centered. Following the plans 19 are the two side walls 20 which serve to close the chamber 12 and keep the part 1 $ cry position. Facing the planes 19 is a movable part 21 moving along two rods 22 fixed to the frame of the machine and the free ends of which are located inside the chamber 12 near its lower part.
The location of the ends of these rods is such that when part 21 is in the open position, that is to say placed in the position indicated in FIG. 1, one or more fruits can fall inside the chamber 12 and be held there in the pressing position by these stems. However, the distance between the ends of the stems 22 and the planes 19 of the part 18 is appreciably greater than the longitudinal dimension of the fruit after its pressing, so that, when the part 21. begins the recoil movement caused by the elements described below, the squeezed fruit can fall freely and exit the chamber.
The only mobile part of the machine is the part 21, the face of which facing the interior of the chamber 12 has two planes 23 which form a dihedron similar to that described above which can substantially coincide with the planes 19. The ridge formed by the two planes 23 has a projecting rib 24 specially arranged to start cutting the peel of the fruit; then, the progressive approximation of the walls of the chamber crushes the fruits between the dihedrons formed by the planes 19 and 23 until the juice is completely extracted, the residue obtained being able to be used subsequently for other applications such as confectionery and others.
For actuating the part 21 in a reciprocating back-and-forth movement, the latter comprises a control rod 25 guided longitudinally by means of a bearing 26 fixed to the frame of the machine and terminated by a threaded part 27 on which is mounted a part 28 whose position can be adjusted by means of a nut 29 and a lock nut 30.
The part 28 comprises a bearing 31 sir which is articulated an axis 32 of a connecting rod 33 which, in turn, is articulated at its opposite end on the free end of a lever 34 mounted so as to be able to oscillate on an axis fixed machine indicated in 36.
The lever 34 has a longitudinal groove 35 in which moves a lon pin 37 mounted eccentrically on a plate 38 which is, in turn, arranged so as to be able to rotate on a fixed axis not shown in the drawing.
The plate 38 is provided with a peripheral toothing 39 which meshes with a tangent screw 40 connected to a motor 41 by means of a transmission indicated by 42.
Under the chamber 12 is a box 43 which communicates through its upper part with said chamber and comprises an intermediate grid 44 inclined towards one of its walls, and a funnel-shaped bottom 45 located under said grid so that the squeezed fruit juice can pass freely through the grid and is collected by the funnel, from which it is poured into a container 46. On the other hand, the pressing residues are retained by the grid and deflected laterally towards one walls of the box 43. The wall in question has an opening. 47 in which there is a valve or flap 48 articulated at its upper part on a hinge 49, so that the juice is splashed.
limited inside the box. On the other hand, this valve or valve can allow the wise passage of residues from the pressing which roll on the grid 44 and exit freely to the outside where they can be collected in the most suitable way for subsequent use, at least one of the walls of the funnel 45 is removable in order to allow cleaning of the funnel.
To control the passage of the fruit towards the interior of the chamber 12, a projection 50 directed towards the outside of this chamber is provided on the upper part of the movable part 21. This projection prevents the passage of the fruit when the part 21 advances towards the interior of the chamber 12 during the pressing operation.
On the other hand, at the mouth of the guide 10 is a device consisting of a rocker 51 provided with a point 52, located inside the guide 10, and by a rod 53 actuated by a connecting rod 54, these two elements, that is to say the balance 51 and the rod 53, being controlled by the projection 50, so as to retain the fruits in the guide and to let fall inside the chamber 12 only those which one wants to press in Once.
The operation of this device 51 to 54 is as follows When the part 21 is in its most extreme position towards the left, the projection 50 allows the balance 51 to swing to the right, that is to say in clockwise, under the effect of its own weight. One or more fruits 11 can then roll over the point 52, which is set back, and be stopped by the upper face of the part 21.
When moving the part 21 to the right and before the latter drops the fruit (s) resting on its upper face, in the chamber 12, the projection 50, by coming into contact with the lower part of the balance 51 , tilts it in an anti-clockwise direction, so that the point 52 is planted in the fruit located at its level in the guide 10 and which precedes those which will fall inside the bedroom. This fruit is thus momentarily supported by the point 52 of the balance 51.
When the part 21 arrives at the right end of its stroke, the projection 50 causes the connecting rod 54 to tilt, in an anti-clockwise direction, which drives the rod 53 towards the left. The end thereof , located in the guide 10, then pushes the fruit momentarily hooked to the point 52 to release it and make it fall into the chamber 12.
The point 52, protruding into the fruit store formed by the guide 10, prevents the fruit arranged above the balance 51 from descending into the guide 10 as long as the part 21 is to the right. After moving the part 21 to the left to perform its pressing action, the balance 51 can again tilt in the direction of clockwise and allow one or more new fruits to fall on the upper face of the room 21. So the cycle begins again.
It is evident that, when the motor is running, the operation of the machine is continuous and only requires the care of keeping the guide 10 full of fruit and of removing the containers full of the juice obtained.
