Garage door The present invention relates to a garage door comprising a panel capable of rotating around a horizontal axis under the effect of at least one counterweight, ca ractérized by the fact that the panel carries the two sides. levers rotatably mounted on two horizontal coaxial shafts, one of the ends of at least one of these levers being provided with a slide connected to a counterweight, and fixed to said lever such that the distance from the point of attachment of the counterweight on the slider to the pivot axis is equal to the distance from the latter to the horizontal straight line passing through the center of gravity of the panel, this straight line being in a plane parallel to the surface of the panel.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the door which is the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a view in vertical section; Fig. 2 is a sectional view along 1-1 of FIG. 1; and FIG. 3 is a plan view of a construction detail.
The garage door shown comprises a panel 1 intended to close a bay 2 and to rotate around two coaxial shafts 3 defining a horizontal axis of rotation, these shafts 3 being anchored in the side walls 5 and 6 of the garage. The panel 1 carries, on each side, fixed by screwing, a bar 7 to which is welded a lever 8 rotatably mounted on the corresponding shaft 3, and a bar 9; the latter is also fixed by screwing and is assembled to the corresponding lever by a spacer 10.
One of the ends of each lever 8 is provided with a slide 11 having a stop screw 12 and a flange 13; the latter is pierced with an eyelet 14 provided with a removable hook 15 carrying a frame 16 forming part of a concrete counterweight 17; the latter comprises a part 18 in which the frame 16 is anchored, and removable elements 19 which can be, as required, engaged on the frame 16 to balance the panel 1.
The distance 21 from the point of attachment of the hook 15 and consequently of the counterweight 17 on the flange 13 of the slide 11 to the axis of rotation 3 is determined, during assembly thereof, so that it is equal to the distance from said axis to the horizontal straight line 20 not through the center of gravity of the panel 1, this straight line 20 being in a plane parallel to the surface of this panel 1, with the aim of ensuring the balancing of the latter.
The door shown, which can be produced from a small number of prefabricated elements in series, has a particularly advantageous cost price. It is planned to produce a door comprising a panel 1 having a single counterweight.
