Description

            Fig.    4 ein der     Fig.1    ähnlicher     Teilschnitt     einer andern     Ausführung    mit     einem    Loch  in der Mantelwand,       Fig.5    eine     Innenansicht    eines Teils der  Mantelwand nach     Fig.    4 mit dem darin befind  lichen Loch,         Fig.6    eine der     Fig.5        ähnliche    Ansicht  einer andern     Ausführung    der in der Mantel  wand befindlichen     Lochung;

In.

The footplate 20 (Fig. 1 to 3) of the Ge place a casting machine, forms a support for the @ Giessformhälften 21, each half of which has a half top wall 22. Both top walls 22 together form a funnel 213.

Figs. 1 and 3 show single 'borrowed one half of a group consisting of two molds, which is divided along the character plane. The casting mold halves 21 slide for opening and closing on the footplate 20 in FIGS. 1 and 3. in. Direction towards the viewer. and away from the viewer, wherein this sliding displacement can take place by means of a suitable device (not shown).

In. F'ig. 2, the footplate 20 has been left out in order to show the frame 24 which receives a lower plate 5, the sideways and downwardly directed handles 26 of which engage in recesses in the frame 24.

The frame 11 2'4 with its inwardly projecting lugs' 2'7 carries the lower plate 25 and is flush with the surface of the lower plate 26, two side cores 2; 8 of the core structure slide with their lugs 29 on the lower plate 25 in guides 60 (upwards and downwards, as seen in FIG. 2) and are connected to a suitable drive device by means of links 59.

The side cores 2) 8 have recesses 30 for shaping the piston pin bosses, and each mold half 2'1 has a core for shaping the cavities located in the eyes and intended to receive the piston pin bosses. Known devices move the mold halves and the side cores of the core assembly. To complete the core structure, a central core is arranged between the side cores in these known devices.

This central core can be pushed down in order to move the side cores into the space released by the central core.

The center core has a special design so that it can be collapsed and laterally expanded in order to withdraw the section or sections of the center core that protrude over a part to be released protruding from the inner surface of the casting a face of the piston is present,

so only the core part forming this part needs to be retractable. If there are protruding parts on opposite surfaces of the piston walls, then both side cores must have forming sections. be provided. The central core can be pulled down under the side cores so that the side cores are in the center of the central core. released space can be pushed into it. The central core can have various shapes.

A particularly suitable embodiment is described below.

The central core (Fug. 1 to 3) consists of an inner part 3'1, which has a 'screw connection with a piston rod 32 working in a cylinder. Side parts 33 rest on the inner part 31 in such a way that a mutual sliding movement of these central core parts is possible. The inner contact surfaces of the central core parts are inclined to the center of the inner part,

however, each inclined surface has several inclined steps arranged in groups .3'4, 35, 36 and 37, the inclined position of which is suddenly interrupted with respect to the center line of the inner part. The inner part 31 and the side parts 33 are held together by any device that allows a relative movement of these parts.

In the illustration, a screw 38 is screwed into each side part 33, the head 39 of which engages in a slot 40 which has the same inclination as the surface 35 and the shoulders 41 of which. end up creating an opening 43 that is slightly larger than head 32. When a side part 33 is placed against the inner part 31, the head 3'2 enters the opening 42 and then pushes itself under the shoulders 41 ..

In addition, a screw 43 is screwed into each side part 33, the head 44 of which lies in the bore 45 of the projection 46 of the inner part 3, 1. In addition, a pin 47 with its slotted Ge threaded head 48 is screwed into a threaded hole 49 of the projection 46. This pin 4'7 protrudes into a bore 50 of the side part 33. A spring 51 is connected between head 48 and side part 33. In this version, the parts of the central core are not only held together, but they can also be mutually exclusive. set and be tensioned as desired by adjusting the screw heads 44 and 48.

The lower plate 25 has an opening 52, the diameter of which corresponds to the expanded central core. The side parts 313 have shoulders 53 which, when the central core is extended, engage in recesses 54 of the handles 516 located on the lower plate 25 and rest on the shoulders 5'5. The handles 56 also have inclined surfaces 61 against which the lugs 53 and 46 bear. Attachment 46 also lies on shoulder 5 , 7.

The base plate 25 also has an inclined surface '58 and shoulders 59, to which the lugs 53 are attached.

In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, the part protruding inward on the inside of the Kol benmantels G5 is in the form of a ring bar 6,6. Such a bar can be seen for various reasons, for example to increase the thickness of the piston skirt so that an annular groove can be incorporated across the bar.

To produce this bar, the side parts have annular grooves i67, which also extend into the side cores 2.8 when the bar forms a closed ring 6o1-1. Because the: Grooves 67 on the. Grasp the piston casting existing bar 6,6, the center core can only be pulled out after the pushing together of the central core structure with when the protruding part of the core is pulled inward to release the bar 6,6.

This is done in the following way: The inner part 3.1 slides during its downward movement from the position shown in FIG. 1 into the position shown in FIG. As shown in Fig. 1, the side lugs 53 of the side parts are initially held absolutely against downward movement because the lugs 53 bear against the shoulders and the springs 51 are tensioned.

During the downward movement of the inner part 31, however, through the engagement of the heads 3.9 with the inclined shoulders 41, the side parts 33 are pulled against the inner part 31 until the overhanging portion of the groove 6'7 has released the bar 66. Here, the lugs 53 have also moved inward and are released from the shoulders 5'5.

At this time, the screw heads 44 are on the top walls of the bores 45, so that finally the united th central core parts 31 and 33 are brought into the position shown in Fig. 3, in which the side parts 33 are lifted from the bar 66 so that the entire core structure can be pulled down and lifted completely out of the mold and brought under the side cores 28. The side cores 2'8 can now be pushed into the space released by the central core. will.

The side cores also have depressions which continue the bar of the piston so that the side cores are also at a distance from the bar 66 and, when they move in the space released by the side parts, release the bar. As a result of the ver shortened arc on each inside of the side cores, the side cores are also at a distance from the bar 66. After opening the mold side: end walls 2,3. the piston can be lifted from the side cores.

The machine is now ready for a new work process. After the side cores have been pushed outwards, the central core is lifted from the position shown in FIG. 3 to the position shown in FIG. During this lifting, the lugs 53 and: 46 come to rest against the inclined surfaces 55 and 61 of the handle 15.6:

The lugs 53 then lie against the shoulders 59, so that the side cores 28 are pushed outward when the inner part 31 moves further upwards, with. The approaches 53 slide into the recesses 54 and over the 55 shoulders. Finally, the projections 416 of the inner part 31 rest against the projections 53.

After the mold side walls 2d'1 have been pushed inwards, the casting machine is ready for the next casting process.

4 and 5 show another embodiment of the invention, in which the laterally directed part starting from the inner surface of the piston casting has the shape of a recess 70 located in the piston wall, which is produced by a section 71 of a side part or both side parts becomes. Such a piston is cast in the same way, with the same inner part,

The same side parts 33 are used as in FIGS. 1 to 3. In FIG. 6, the recess located in the piston skirt wall is in the form of a slot 72 so that there is a vertical slit in the piston in the bus.

7 and 8 show another imple mentation of the invention. In this case the piston skirt has an inwardly directed lug or lugs' 7'3 which are present on one side or on both sides of the piston casting. The side cores are provided with corresponding indentations to shape these approaches. The side parts 33 are withdrawn in the same way as in the embodiment shown in FIGS.

In Figs. 9 and 110 two approaches 74 and 75 are available, which are arranged on opposite sides of a slot 72 is. The lugs and also the slot, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, can be formed from the central core.

The illustrated in Figures 7 to 10 sets 73; 74, 75 can be used for different purposes. You can be stop bolts for a clamping device or a rotating mandrel that is used to machine the piston in the piston. The hole 70 or the perforation 70 (film. 4 and 5) can serve the same purpose.

The approaches shown in FIGS. 7 to 10 can be penetrated by a steel ring 76, which is anchored in the approaches and is used to hold the piston skirt against expansion when the piston is made of aluminum, which has a significantly greater coefficient of expansion than steel has. The core has a recess that receives the ring when the core is collapsed.

In the embodiment according to FIGS. 11 and 12, a ring bar 77 or a partial ring bar 77 is arranged on the inside of the piston as part of the reinforced piston head 78 or below the reinforced piston head 78.

If an annular groove 79 is milled in such a piston, a circumferential slot or transverse slot is created in one zone or in both zones of the pressure surface, as is used in many aluminum pistons to partially separate the piston head from the piston skirt.

The attachment 7 7 and the calf jacket 6'5 can also have a slot corresponding to the slot 72 in FIGS. 9 and 10 in order to. to connect the cross slot $ 0 with the vertical slot.

The invention enables the fast Her position of a casting that has inwardly protruding parts on the inner surface. No core made up of individual pieces is required during manufacture, which must be removed separately after the casting has solidified.

The parts of the inner core always remain united, so that the casting can be removed by simply removing the central core and moving the side cores into the space released by the central core. After the side cores are pushed apart again, the central core can be inserted between the side cores and expanded.

As mentioned, aluminum castings have a high degree of crystallization and a great expansion and contraction. If the core is pulled out too early, the crystallization is not yet complete and a clean, wall-free casting does not result. If the pulling out of the core is delayed, the casting sticks to the core,

rips -Lund is destroyed. These disadvantages are avoided with the invention. If the side cores are left to stand after the central core has been pulled out, so that they can then be pushed into the space released by the central core, these cores, even if they are not moved by a gear, will push themselves as far inwards as they shrink The casting contracts,

since these side cores only rest on the footplate and their inward movement is not hindered during this contraction.

The adjacent surfaces of the inner part and the side parts of the central core are inclined, but they are so. designed and shaped so that the side parts slide against the inner part during a sliding movement and pull the protruding portion of the core inwards,

so that the part protruding inward on the inner surface of the casting is released.
