Description

  Les exemples suivants, dans lesquels les  parties indiquées sont en poids, illustrent la  présente invention    Exemple 1    On introduit lentement 45 parties de     chlor-          hydrine        sulfurique    dans 150 parties de     pyri-          dine    anhydre de façon que la température ne  dépasse pas     35o        C    ; on ajoute ensuite à la  température ordinaire, 60 parties de di     (acétyl-          amino)-2,5-aminobenzène.    Le mélange obtenu,  bien agité, est     chauffé    lentement à     50     C ;

   Après  avoir agité 3 heures à la température ordinaire,  on coule le mélange obtenu sur une solution  contenant 55 parties de carbonate de sodium      et 150 parties d'eau. On entraîne la     pyridine     à la vapeur. Par refroidissement, le     disulfonate     cristallise, on l'essore et on le traite à l'ébulli  tion pendant 30 minutes par 10 fois son poids  d'une solution de soude caustique à 5 % puis  on refroidit vers100C, on neutralise la ma  jeure partie de l'alcali, on concentre et on re  froidit vers     10o    C ; on ajoute de l'acide chlor  hydrique de façon à précipiter l'acide     disul-          famique.    On l'essore et on le lave à l'eau gla  cée ;

  Process for the preparation of aryl-triamino-sulfamic acids and their salts In main patent No. 318447 there has been described a process for the preparation of aryl-triamino-sulfamic acids and their salts starting from aromatic starting materials com bearing one or two nitro groups which are reduced, after sulfonation, to amino groups.

  The present patent relates to a process for preparing these same aryl-tri-amino-sulfamic acids and their salts.

  These aromatic acids are substituted by an amino group, by an aminosulfonic group, by a third group which may be either of these two groups mentioned, and optionally by other substituents. These acids are used in the preparation of dyes by oxidation. The compounds prepared according to the invention correspond to the following general formula
EMI0001.0012
    in which R is an aromatic residue which may bear substituents other than those mentioned here. A represents a cation, such as a hydrogen ion or the ion of a monovalent metal, and R 'represents a hydrogen atom or the group - 50.3A.

  The preparation of sulfates derived from monoamines or diamines has already been described, but those derived from triamines are not known.

  The process according to the invention is characterized in that an aromatic compound substituted with at least three groups is treated with a sulfonating agent, of which at least one, but at most two, are amino groups, and at most two are acylamido groups, and in that, after the sulfonation, the said acylamido group (s) is (are) converted by hydrolysis into amino groups.

  The raw materials correspond to the following general formula
EMI0001.0024
    in which R has the same meaning as above and Z denotes either an acylamido group or an amino group.

  When there are two amino groups in the starting material, one or two can be sulphonated depending on the operating conditions, and in particular depending on the amount of sulphonating reagent involved.

  The sulfonation on the amino group (s) can be carried out using a sulfonating agent such as, for example, chlorohydrin sulfuri, sulfuric anhydride, oleum, sulfuric acid, sulfamic acid, combinations of sulfur trioxide with a tertiary amine, amide or ether.

   As examples of tertiary amines capable of entering into the preceding combinations, mention may be made of pyridine, trimethylamine, triethylamine, ethylmorpholine and dimethylcyclohexylamine, as examples of amides, mention may be made of dimethyl-formamide, and as an example of ethers, dioxane.

  The reaction can be carried out with or without a solvent. The solvents which can be used can be, for example, organic solvents such as the nitro and chlorinated derivatives of hydrocarbons, amides, ethers, tertiary amines and even water in the case where the sulfonation is carried out by combinations of l sulfuric anhydrous with certain tertiary amines. Mixtures of solvents can also be used.

  The hydrolysis of the acylamido group (s) can be carried out in an alkaline, neutral or very slightly acidic medium; it is preferably carried out with caustic alkalis.

       The free acids of aromatic triamines sulfonated on a single amino group are, in general, less soluble in water than their sodium salts. These are white or more or less brown colored products, most often very soluble in water. The free aci of the same amines, sulfonated on two amino groups are also less soluble in water than their sodium salts, which are very. soluble.

  The various salts of the new sulfonated derivatives obtained by the process according to the invention can be used for the preparation of oxidation dyes and they are particularly advantageous when this preparation is carried out on the fiber or on any other object. .

  Their use has been described in the main patent.

  The following examples, in which the parts indicated are by weight, illustrate the present invention.  Example 1  45 parts of sulfuric hydrochloride are slowly introduced into 150 parts of anhydrous pyridine so that the temperature does not not exceed 35o C; 60 parts of di (acetylamino) -2,5-aminobenzene are then added at room temperature. The mixture obtained, well stirred, is slowly heated to 50 C;

   stirring is continued for 2 hours, then poured into a solution containing 70 parts of sodium carbonate and 200 parts of water; the reaction should remain alkaline on Brilliant Yellow paper. After entrainment of the pyridine by the water vapor, the sulphonated derivative obtained is precipitated with sea salt and it is treated for 30 minutes at the boiling point with 15 times its weight of a solution containing 50 grams of sodium hydroxide per liter. The 1,2-triamino-4-benzene-N 2 -sulfonate is precipitated by concentration in the air from the solution after having neutralized the major part of the alkali which it contained.

   It consists of a brown powder, after recrystallization of a water-alcohol mixture.

  The initial di (acetylamino) 2,5-aminobenzene is obtained by reducing with iron the di (acetylamino) 2,5-nitrobenzene obtained from Bülow and Mann (Berichte 30, page 981). Example 2 22 parts of 2,4-diamino-acetylamino-benzene are sulfonated by the action of 37 parts of sulfuric chlorohydrin previously introduced in 125 parts of anhydrous pyridine following the indications of the example 1.

   After stirring for 3 hours at room temperature, the mixture obtained is poured into a solution containing 55 parts of sodium carbonate and 150 parts of water. The pyridine is steamed off. By cooling, the disulfonate crystallizes, it is filtered off and treated at the boiling point for 30 minutes with 10 times its weight of a 5% caustic soda solution then it is cooled to  100C, </ B > neutralize the major part of the alkali, concentrate and cool to 10o C; hydrochloric acid is added so as to precipitate the disulfamic acid. It is wrung out and washed with ice water;

   it is redissolved in the theoretical amount of sodium hydroxide in solution to form the disulfonate. Evaporated until the start of crystallization of triamino-1,2,4-benzene-N2, N_x-disulphonate; after drying, this appears as a light brown powder.

       2,4-diamino-acetylaminobenzene is prepared by reducing dinitro-2,4-acetylaminobenzene with iron (Van de Vliet, Berichte der Deutschen Chemischen Geselilschaft 43, p. 610) in according to the method indicated in German patent N ,, 183843 of October 3, 1902.
