Description

Order transmission device The object of the invention is an order transmission device intended to ensure, for a very short and strictly limited time, however long the duration of the issue of an order to be executed, the closing a power supply circuit of an electromagnetic device intended to ensure the execution of this order, characterized by a breaker interposed in the power supply circuit, and by an own inhibitor relay, when it is energized, to open this switch in a little longer than the power supply duration necessary to ensure the execution of the order by the device, the emission of the order being ensured by a contactor capable of simultaneously applying the voltage from the source to the supply circuit and re lais.

The purpose of this device is to prevent any repetition of the execution of an order if the duration of the issuance of said order is prolonged and as long as a new order is not issued after cancellation of the previous one.

In a large number of fields, it often happens that one wishes to avoid the renewal of an operation in the event that, either because of the very nature of this operation, or as a result of fortuitous causes, the initial conditions are re-established. while the device continues to be operated. For example, we know that in machine guns, we use two kinds of fire: burst fire and single shot. Burst firing is carried out precisely by maintaining the transmission of the same order, the repetition continues as long as the shooter is pressing the trigger, so that single-shot firing requires the presence of a second trigger , or a complicated switching mechanism.

Another application, where the device forming the subject of the invention is of vital interest, is the field of high voltage circuit breakers. Indeed, it is known that these circuit breakers operate extremely quickly, imposed by the functions they have to perform. In addition, one of their essential roles is to trigger automatically in the event of a short circuit on the line they are protecting. However, some of these short circuits are not fleeting, which prevents automatic reclosing of the circuit breaker immediately after tripping.

If, therefore, a closing order is sent to a circuit breaker while there is a non-fu gitive short-circuit on the line, and if this closing order continues for a period longer than that of its execution , it is obvious that there will immediately occur an automatic tripping due to the short circuit, then a second engagement due to maintaining order, etc. This phenomenon is well known. under the name, moreover improper, of pumping, hence the expression antipumpage which designates usual. ment the more or less complex mechanisms which have been proposed previously to remedy this drawback.

The device forming the subject of the invention constitutes precisely an extremely simple anti-pumping device and offers absolute safety since the inhibitor relay, by interrupting the supply circuit of the electromagnetic device, prevents any repetition of the. execution of an order, however long the duration of its issuance.

The appended drawing represents, by way of example, some embodiments of the transmission device forming the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a diagram of a first form. Fig. 2 is a diagram of a second form. Fig. 3 is a diagram showing the use of the device for controlling a machine gun.

Fig. 4 is a diagram of a variant of a detail of FIG. 3.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the device comprises a direct current source S constituted, for example, by a battery or accumulator cells connected to the two input terminals 1 and 2 and supplying conductors 3 and 4 connected to the supply circuit d 'an electromagnetic device. This comprises a winding 5 wound on a cylindrical armature 26 which is guided by its two ends 27 and 28 on a median shaft 29 of a fixed armature comprising two permanent magnets 30 and 31.

Two leaf springs 32, 33 allow free movement of the winding 5 in the annular air gap 34. The leaf springs 32 and 33 can, at the same time, be used to connect the winding 5 to the conductors 3 and 4. A spring 40 biases the cylindrical armature 26 towards the rest position.

This electromagnetic device constitutes a kind of direct current motor, the induction of which is provided by the permanent magnets 30 and 31 while the winding 5 constitutes its armature. Such a device, which could be referred to as a magnetoelectric jack because of its limited stroke and the use of the forces induced in the turns of the winding 5 under the action of the permanent magnetic field of the magnets 30 and 31 in response to the passage of current in said turns, offers on the electromagnets more commonly used, the essential advantage that its activation time is extremely short due to the preexistence of the permanent magnetic field which allows this activation. in action as soon as the current begins to flow in the winding.

In addition, it is easy to obtain a rigorously constant action over the entire stroke of such a device, provided that a winding that is regularly distributed and of sufficient length is provided.

By branch on conductors 3 and 4 are connected conductors 6 and 7 which supply, always from input terminals 1 and 2, an inhibitor relay 9 whose plunger core carries the movable contact 10 of a breaker whose the fixed contacts 11 and 12 are interposed on conductor 4. The voltage from source S is applied to terminals 1 and 2 by conductors 13 and 14 under the control of a contactor such as push-button 15. The delay response of relay 9 is chosen equal to the time at which it is desired to limit the supply to the circuit of the electromagnetic device (in this case the winding 5).

The operation of the device is extremely simple. When contactor 15 is closed, the source debits simultaneously in windings 5 and 9. After a time equal to its response time, relay 9 attracts its armature and actuates mobile contact 10, so as to separate fixed contacts 11 and 12, which interrupts the power supply to winding 5.

The switch 15 and the contact 10 of the breaker have to withstand the passage of the supply current of the magnetoelectric cylinder only during the end of the response time of relay 9. If this duration is sufficiently short, it is possible, even if the intensity of the supply current is very high, use switches with small contacts, such as those of microswitches, without risking damage, - due to the short duration of their permanent function of transmission of the current.

As for the function of the contact 10 of the breaker, by which it ensures the cutting of the current of the supply circuit of the magnetoelectric cylinder, it could also be ensured by contacts of small dimensions, but the lifting of the movable contact 10 must be sufficient to ensure a clean break of said current.

Moreover, by calling t1 the duration of supplying the winding 5 necessary to ensure the execution of the order, t, # the duration of energization of the inhibitor relay 9 necessary to cause the cutting of the conductor 4 by the breaker, and t3 the duration of an operation triggered by the electromagnetic control, we must have t1 <t # - G t3 (1) If we actuate push-button 15 for a time greater than t1,

whatever the length of time during which this action is prolonged, the supply circuit of the electromagnetic device is cut off by the breaker after a time t, and no repetition of the execution of the order. can occur as long as you do not press button 15 a second time after releasing it.

In fig. 2, the general reference 39 designates a device of which the electromagnetic apparatus designated by the general reference 37 is intended to actuate the tripping solenoid valve 23 of a circuit breaker, while the solenoid actuation valve 38 is controlled by an electromagnet 16 provided with another device designated by the general reference 22.

In this embodiment, a magnetoelectric actuator is used for tripping because of its rapid response time. However, one could also use a jack of this type for the engagement or two electromagnets for the engagement and the release. It would also be possible to provide a device for supplying controlled rée only for one of these two operations.

In the embodiment of FIG. 2, the two control devices are supplied from a common source constituted by a battery of cells or accumulators 35 comprising a large number of elements so as to provide a sufficiently high voltage and by a capacitor 36 which bypass the common power source. Thanks to this arrangement, the capacitor 36, whose armatures reign at rest the maximum voltage that the battery 35 can supply, charges slowly under the action of this voltage and, on each actuation of the closing contactor 15b and of the tripping contactor 15a,

a small part of this load is sent simultaneously either to the supply circuit of the tripping magnetoelectric actuator and the associated inhibition relay, or to the excitation circuit of the closing electromagnet and the release relay. inhibition controlling it. The advantage of the presence of the capacitor 36 is to allow the maximum voltage of the control current to be maintained for the duration of the actuation of the magnetoelectric actuator or of the electromagnet, which would be impossible with the battery 35 alone. , since when such a battery delivers a high current, its voltage drops immediately.

The use of a magnetoelectric actuator of the type described with a controlled power supply in the manner explained makes it possible to transmit to the control mechanism of a circuit breaker a tripping order in a time which may be less than 1/1000 of a second.

In the embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the device is used for the control of a machine gun. The arrangement and operation are similar to those of the preceding embodiments except that the electromagnetic apparatus 5 actuates the trigger 18 of the machine gun.

Furthermore, the device has a third input terminal 1 'which enables the inhibitor relay 9 to be short-circuited, under the control of a push-button 15', to ensure the firing by ra fals, while the push-button 15 ensures the firing one by one if, as previously ti <t2 <t3 On the fia. 4 the contactor 15 is constituted by a push button comprising an insulating body 19 carrying a sliding contact 20.

At rest, it does not establish any circuit while, when it is partially pressed, it closes the power supply circuit of the electromagnetic device and energizes the inhibitor relay, and when it is fully pressed, it closes the circuit. power supply of the electromagnetic device and short-circuits the inhibitor relay.

t1 <I>,</I><B>12</B> <I>, </I> t3, may vary between certain tolerance limits, provided that the double inequality (1) is respected.
