Description

Device for setting up tools on tool holders for multi-spindle automatic lathes The invention relates to a device for setting up tools on tool holders for multi-spindle automatic lathes.

When setting up multi-spindle automatic lathes, by far the greater part of the set-up time is spent on precisely setting a number of machining tools for the various work processes and on trying out the individual tools on the respective machine. This latter, particularly time-consuming process is necessary because, as is well known, tools act differently according to their shape, the respective cutting speed and feeds and the material to be processed.

The set-up time does not play an essential role if the work machine in question has been producing the same workpieces for a long time because it is then calculated as a percentage. In such cases it is known to precisely adjust the tool assemblies, which consist of a tool and a tool holder receiving it, by means of templates outside the machine, so that after any tool has been worn. The tool assemblies can be taken out of the machine and others with newly sharpened tools can be used, which in turn produce dimensionally accurate workpieces without any special measures.

An absolute prerequisite for this setting of the tool units outside of the machine is, however, that the cutting edge shape of a tool is already fixed and that it is always adhered to during resharpening. This method is therefore only to be used if the shape of the cutting edge of the tool in question and its position relative to the tool holder have already been established due to long experience in the manufacture of a certain workpiece and the aforementioned templates can then be manufactured Setting up automatic lathes for the first time - which requires by far the longest setup time - does not apply

The set-up and thus the set-up time increases with the number of spindles available in an automatic lathe, on the one hand because the number of tools is increasing and on the other hand because the space available for setting up multi-spindle machines is much less favorable than that of a single-spindle machine.

In order to reduce the set-up time when setting up multi-spindle machines, a device is provided according to the invention for setting up tools on tool holders for multi-spindle automatic lathes outside the machine, which consists of a single-spindle lathe, the ratios of which are related to the inclusion of the tool holder and their The arrangement to the spindle in the middle corresponds to the automatic machine on which the tools are to be used. In one of the devices of this type, the tools can then be correspondingly shaped when they are clamped in their tool holders, for example by grinding.

In addition, the tools can be set relative to the tool holder and the tools can be tested in practical operation to determine whether they are working properly. This means that most of the set-up time is shifted away from the multi-spindle automatic lathe to be set up, which then remains used for the production of workpieces during this time.

This inventive device is to be used with advantage in connection with multi-spindle machines because this Vorrich device in the form of a single-spindle lathe is wesent Lich cheaper than a multi-spindle automatic lathe, because it is known that the latter would cost a multiple of the inventive device. While multi-spindle automatic lathes cost DM 80,000 to 120,000, depending on the number of spindles, the device can be manufactured for around DM 5,000.

If you were to use the inventive Vorrich device, which consists of a single-spindle machine, in connection with a single-spindle work machine, which is to be set up with the aid of the device according to the invention, so it is that this device and the single-spindle work machine are not so priced are different, so that the installation of such a device would be economically worthwhile. For this reason, the invention is only intended to be used in connection with multi-spindle automatic lathes.

To facilitate standing, it is useful if the carrier carrying the tool assembly can be moved by hand, for example by means of a hand lever.

The single-spindle lathe expediently has a transverse slide on both sides of its spindle head, both of which are designed and arranged in such a way that the cutting forces occurring during the work of this machine press the tool of the tool assembly on one slide against it and the tool of the tool assembly is pushed away from the other slide.

With this arrangement of the two cross slides, all of the relationships that occur in multi-spindle automatic lathes can be copied in this single-spindle lathe, and, for example, all tool units on four or six spindle machines can be arranged on cross slides. H. Multi-spindle machines all in common, to be directed, adjusted and tested on this single-spindle lathe, with the best accessibility when setting up is guaranteed.

In order to be able to adjust the tool assemblies for turret heads, longitudinal slides or quills of automatic machines on this single-spindle lathe, it is advantageous if the lathe machine has a tailstock whose receiving element for the tool assemblies corresponds to the corresponding receiving element of the relevant turret head and the like corresponds.

In the drawing, tool assemblies are shown on a multi-spindle automatic machine and on a single-spindle lathe representing an example of the subject matter of the invention. 1 shows a partial view of the spindle drum of a four-spindle automatic machine, FIG. 2 shows a partial view along line 2-2 of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a plan view of a single-spindle lathe according to the invention, FIG. 4 shows a partial section through this lathe Machine along line 4-4 in FIG. 3, FIG. 5 is a partial front view of the machine according to FIGS. 3 and 4.

A part of a four-spindle automatic machine is shown schematically in FIGS. 1 and 2, and a bed is designated by 30, which has slide guides 31 and 32 for a left lower cross slide 35 and a right lower cross slide 36. The tool-making units arranged on the cross slide will be discussed in greater detail later.

With 38 an upper gesture part is designated, which has slide guides 39 and 40, on which a left upper cross slide 42 and a right upper cross slide 43 are displaceable.

At 45 a spindle drum can be seen, which carries a total of four spindles 46-49, which are used in a well-known manner to accommodate the workpieces.

A tool assembly 50, 51, 52 or 53 is arranged on each of the four cross slides, and since these four tool assemblies are fundamentally the same, only one of the more detailed ones is described below.

The tool assembly 51 has a tool holder 55, which has a recess 54 on its left side according to FIG. 2. A setting wedge 56 and a tool 57 are arranged in this recess, and with the aid of fastening screws 60 the tool is pressed against the wedge and the wedge is pressed against a boundary wall of the recess 54. The tool assembly is fastened to the slide 36 with the aid of a bolt 62, the foot 63 of which engages in a T-slot of the cross slide 36 and which presses the tool assembly against the cross slide with the help of a nut 64 and thus holds it in place.

At 65, two stop screws can be seen which are arranged transversely to the direction of movement of the cross slide and which can strike against a stop bar 66 of the cross slide. After loosening the fastening bolt 62, the desired adjustment of the tool assembly relative to the cross slide can be carried out with the aid of these stop screws 65.

As already mentioned, the four tool-making units 50-53 are the same among themselves and only differ in the tools that are clamped in them. Since all four spindles (46-49) rotate in the same direction of rotation, for example according to arrow B in FIG. 1, the arrangement of the tool assemblies means that with two, namely 50 and 52, the tool goes through the cutting pressure is pressed against the cross slide and the other two, namely 51 and 53, the tool is pushed away from the slide.

3-5 a single-spindle lathe is shown which, if necessary, has the same size ratios as the four-spindle automatic machine according to FIGS. 1 and 2.

As can be seen from FIGS. 3-5, the A spindle lathe has a machine frame 70 on which a headstock 71 is arranged. In the sem a spindle 72 is provided, the example, can be driven via a pulley 73 in a manner not shown. With a spindle head 74 is designated, in which a work piece 75 is clamped.

The machine frame has slide guides 76 and 77, 76 and 77 on both sides of the spindle head, on each of which a cross slide 80 or 81 is movably arranged with the aid of a hand lever 78 and 79, the transmission, for example, with the aid of a gear and: a rack can happen. Instead of actuating the cross slide by hand lever, a screw spindle, not shown, can be used.

On each of these cross slides there is a tool assembly, which is constructed in the same way as that of the four-spindle automatic machine according to FIGS. 1 and 2, and in a direction of rotation of the spindle according to arrow C the left cross slide 80 and the left tool assembly correspond to the cross slides 35 and 43 or the work tool assemblies 50 and 52 of the four-spindle machine according to FIGS. 1 and 2. The same applies to the right cross slide and the right work tool assembly with respect to the other two cross slides and tool assemblies of the four-spindle machine, and it is for this reason Tool assemblies of the single-spindle lathe are denoted by the same numbers as those used in the corresponding cross slide according to FIG. 1.

Since the same conditions prevail on this single-spindle lathe with respect to the slide guide and its spacing and arrangement with respect to the work spindle, as in the four-spindle automatic machine according to FIG. 1, it is therefore possible to set up the tool units on this simple machine, d. H. To shape the tools, to adjust them correctly and to try them out if necessary. A tailstock 90 is also arranged on the machine frame, and the quill 91 can be moved longitudinally with the aid of a hand lever 92 which is articulated at 93 on a holder 94. On the quill, a holder shaft 95 and a cross holder 96 is still arranged, on which the tool 97 is fastened be.

With the help of the tailstock, the tool can now be set up on the single-spindle lathe, i.e. H. the tool can be shaped, adjusted and tried out.

A similar device can be made for all tools of the turret of the longitudinal slide or of individual quills, which are set one after the other in the tailstock for setting up.
