Le cadre peut comporter un seul panneau cou lissant et un seul logement pour le recevoir ou, dans une variante, il peut comporter une paire de pan neaux coulissant dans le prolongement l'un de l'au tre et susceptibles, en s'écartant l'un de l'autre en coulissant, d'être amenés chacun dans un logement disposé à l'un;
Le logement 11 comporte à une de ses extrémités un montant 13 et à son autre extrémité une paire de montants espacés 14 placés -approximativement au centre du cade, ces montants 14 constituant l'entrée dudit logement . et étant fixés à un;
Prefabricated assembly comprising at least one sliding panel and a frame in which this panel slides The present invention relates to a prefabricated assembly comprising at least one sliding panel, such as a door or a window,
and a frame in which this panel slides, intended to "be fixed in a wall in alignment therewith,
said frame being provided with a lintel and a threshold and having at least one part constituting a housing in which the panel can by sliding come to occupy a retracted position and another part constituting an opening
capable of being partially or entirely closed by said panel depending on the advanced position in which it is brought by sliding,
the part of the frame forming said opening comprising a removable member to allow this opening to be enlarged and the panel to be completely removed from the frame:
laterally. This assembly is characterized by the fact that this panel is suspended, so as to be able to slide in the frame, by means of adjustable suspension members, from a guide rail placed under the lintel of the frame, said panel cooperating by sliding with a fixed guide member extending along the threshold,
the distance from the edge. lower part of the panel and the threshold of the frame being adjusted by moving the panel vertically by adjusting said suspension members.
The frame may comprise a single smooth sliding panel and a single housing to receive it or, in a variant, it may comprise a pair of sliding panels in the extension of one of the other and susceptible, by moving away from each other. 'one from the other by sliding, each being brought into a housing arranged in one;
of, opposite sides of said opening, and also to completely close said opening by sliding out of the housings, when their closing edges meet in the advanced position in this opening:
The accompanying drawing shows schematically and by way of example an embodiment and a variant of an assembly according to the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a view in vertical section along the line I1-11 of FIG. 2 of an embodiment. Fig. 2 is a sectional plan of FIG. 1 and on a smaller scale.
The fis. 3 is a similar sectional plan showing an alternative embodiment with a double sliding door.
Like reference numerals denote the same parts throughout the description.
The fis. 1 and 2 illustrate a prefabricated assembly comprising an assembled and open rectangular frame part of which constitutes a housing 11 for a door and of which the aurora part aligned with the first constitutes an opening 12 for the door.
The housing 11 comprises at one of its ends an upright 13 and at its other end a pair of spaced uprights 14 placed approximately at the center of the frame, these uprights 14 constituting the entrance to said housing. and being set at one;
lintel 15 and at a threshold 16, the frame being designed to be introduced into a floor 17 so that the threshold 16 is flush with the latter.
The part constituting the opening 12 of the door is formed by the end post 18 located on the side of the closing of the opening and by the pair of laterally spaced posts 14 which, as already said , form the entrance to housing 11.
Of a. side of the frame is fixed under the lintel 15 a longitudinal member 19 extending approximately over the entire length of the frame and, on the opposite side of the frame, is also fixed under the Frame 15, over the entire length of the frame and spaced from member 19; another longitudinal member 20 of lower height than member 19.
In the space formed between the two members 19 and 20 is mounted a guide rail 21, which is fixed to the vertical free face of the member 19 and extends approximately over the entire length of the linen 15.
Inside this guide rail 21 is a carriage 22 carrying upper and lower sets of rolling balls 23, the balls of each set being separated longitudinally by intervals,
said carriage thus being capable of sliding easily and smoothly in the fixed guide rail 21.
The door 24 is suspended from the sliding carriage 22 of the; guide rail 21 by means of a pair of hanger tabs 25 each secured near one end of the top edge of the door by a strong set screw 26 which screws into a metal plate 27 recessed and fixed into the edge superior
of the door, said adjusting screws having a head 28 and a locknut 29 each, by means of which they are fixed to the legs 25, an adjusting nut 30 also being provided. .on each adjustment screw 26 to adjust the position of said adjustment screws relative to the door,
which makes it possible to easily adjust to the desired value the clearance between the lower edge of the door 24 and the threshold 16. Housings 31 are provided in the upper edge of the door 24 to allow movement of the adjustment screws 26.
The suspension brackets 25 are each fixed at their upper end to the sliding carriage 22 by adjusting screws 32 and the ends of this carriage are bent at a square as shown at 33.
Under the member 20 is removably fixed over at least the entire width of the opening 12 of the door a horizontal strip 34 which, while masking the guide rail and the suspension means, also allows to 'access it when this strip is removed.
The door 24 is therefore suspended from above so as to be just clear of the threshold 16 and the expensive plane 17; said threshold comprises a longitudinal guide member 35 engaging in a longitudinal groove 36 provided in the lower edge of the door, this groove being lined by a metalli that 37, upturned gutter,
and this guide member being limited to a length included in the housing 11 of the door.
The door 24 comprises, on the side of its closure, a conical vertical strip 38 capable of engaging in a corresponding corresponding groove 39 provided in the upright 18.
After removing this strip 38 from the door as well as the horizontal strip 34, the. door 24 of the guide rail whenever necessary.
A flexible stopper 40 made of rubber or another suitable material is fixed to the internal face of the frame 13, the door coming into contact with this stop when it is completely withdrawn in the housing 11.
Fig. 3 shows an alternative embodiment with double doors 24 in which the frame comprises a housing 11 for a door on each side of a central opening 12.
In this construction the two doors meet by their closing edges when they are completely closed,
one of the doors comprising the removable conical strip 38 which engages in the corresponding groove of the closing edge 41 of the opposite door placed in alignment with the first door.
The two doors 24 are suspended separately from a single guide rail in the same way as the single door of FIGS. 1 and 2, this rail extending over the entire length of the frame and, to allow one or both doors to be lifted when desired,
a horizontal strip similar to the strip 34 of FIG. 1 is removably attached to the frame under the lintel of the frame and extends over at least the entire width of the opening 12.
The faces of the uprights 14 adjacent to the sliding door 24 are reduced in thickness so as to leave for each upright only a small width 44 of the face in close proximity to the surface of the door, so that,
if an adjustment were to be necessary due to a swelling of a wooden door, only the small width 44 of the face would need to be planed to avoid the door rubbing against this face after the inflation of calte door.
The door sknple 24 of FIG. 1 and each of the two doors 24 of FIG. 3 can be set back in the corresponding housing 11 so as to completely clear the opening of the door. When the frame and the panel described are placed in a wall,
the housing of the panel is more or less masked inside the wall by covering it with a plaster panel, as indicated at 45, so that the frame is flush with the surface of the wall. It is also possible to use architraves, as shown at 46.
The panel and the frame can be constructed from wood or plastic, or from metal: with or without wood or glass panels. However, if desired, the door can be constructed of wired glass.
