Description

Device for transporting drums and similar containers
The present invention relates to a device for transporting drums and similar containers of 30-180 liters. Its design allows oil drums to be grasped by sliding blades underneath without them needing to be touched and to bring them into the lying position.

The accompanying drawing shows an example of an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, namely FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of the device from the front with the handle tube pulled out on one side and FIG. 2 shows a side view with the handles inserted.

The embodiment of the device shown in Fig. 1 and 2 has two side frames which are each composed of a pipe bend 1 with a longitudinal pipe 3 attached to the ends. The two frames are connected between the longitudinal tubes 3 by curved barrel supports 5 and between the tube bends 1 on one side of the apex of the bend by a cross tube 11 and on the other side by the axle 100 carrying the wheels 10. Short frame feet 12 are placed on the circumference of the front pipe bends, so that the device is always inclined slightly forward in the position shown in FIG. 1, in order to enable the drum to be filled into an inclined surface.

Backwards, a roll-off tube 15 is placed on the circumference of the two pipe bends 1 in front of the wheels 10, which serves to carry out the tilting process without risk and to maintain the necessary height compared to the tire height at the critical moment when tilting.

On the longitudinal tubes 3 sit facing forward in sleeves 7, 8, the handle bars 2, their handles 13, z. B. are covered with rubber nozzles.

The longitudinal tubes 3 also have runners 4 and 6 on the rear side, which in the upright position grip under the edge of the drum. A safety chain 9 is used to loop around and fasten the barrel after it has been placed on the device. The chain can be hooked into a hook 14.

The handle bars 2 are preferably arranged in the sleeves 7, 8 so as to be displaceable with a lock in the extended position.

The device is moved into the position as shown in FIG. 1 in front of the drum. You now roll the device forward so that its handles 13 are upwards and the blades 4 and 6 are in front of the lower edge of the barrel.

The barrel is tilted slightly, the shovels 4 and 6 grasp under the edge of the barrel by pushing the device with the tips of the runners under the tilted barrel edge. The chain 9 is placed around the edge of the barrel, so it wraps around the barrel belly, is secured with hooks 14 and fastened.

The handle tubes 2 are now completely pulled out in their sliding sleeves 7 and 8 in order to serve as extended lever arms. A bayonet lock of a known type on the sleeves 7 locks the handle tubes 2 against slipping back.

The device is now grabbed by the handles 13, these are slowly pulled forward at the same time, the device unrolls and lies back in its starting position as in FIG. 1. The shovels have simultaneously grabbed the barrel, which lies down on the curved one Drum supports 5, the chain secures the drum against slipping.

The cross tube 11 serves as a footstep for the worker when pushing up the device. The device with the drum resting on it is moved on the spot by means of rubber wheels 10, the handles 2 are pushed in again and the filling stand is in a slightly inclined position to the rear by sitting the frame on the feet 12 ready for filling. By means of the roll-off tube 15, it is possible to carry out the tipping process without risk and, in doing so, to obtain the necessary height identical to the tire height precisely at the most critical moment of tipping.

After filling the drum, drive it back to the storage location on the device and tip it to the standing position by rolling the trestle forwards onto the shovel tips. The device is removed from the barrel after the safety chain has been loosened. A new barrel can be picked up and filled and moved while lying down.
