Description

EMI0001.0036

Circuit for generating current pulses for machines driven by an electromagnet with reciprocating motion. In vibration engineering, there is a need for ballast arrangements for machines driven by an electromagnet with reciprocating motion, the oscillation frequency of which is <B> 25 </B> Hz or less, but whose working energy should be taken from a normal <B> 50 </B> or 60 Hz supply network.

Vibrating pumps, vibrating shears or vibrating saws of the most varied designs come into consideration here, but in particular so-called electromagnetic vibrators, which are to be regarded as pure drive elements and together with their respective utility device (conveyor trough, vibrating screen or the like) form a two-mass vibrating system .

To drive such machines, a circuit has already been proposed that generates pulses at the rate of an integral fraction of the mains frequency using a series connection of a saturation valve and a throttle, which is highly saturated by the working current, with core material of high remanence. This circuit is characterized, among other things, by the fact that the saturation valve is bridged by means of a periodically actuated switching element, where, in the case of a further valve, the opposite passage device is in series with the switching element.

When the switching element is actuated during every second half-cycle of the mains voltage in the same direction or only during every third or fourth half-cycle or correspondingly at even greater intervals, the proposed arrangement acts in such a way that during at least one negative half-wave following a positive forward half-wave such reverse magnetization of the choke is brought about that only the magnetizing current flows during at least one positive half-cycle following the reverse magnetization.

The object of the invention now consists in specifying a circuit which also meets the requirement described at the beginning, but no longer requires the traditional series reactor. The choke increases the weight of the ballasts and often forbids them to be installed at the most favorable point for operation. It also lowers the efficiency of the drive.

According to the invention, it is proposed that a controllable rectifier connected upstream of the electromagnet is acted upon by the pulses of a multivibrator, which are synchronized with the mains AC voltage and are short compared to the mains period duration, in an opening sense, the sum. of pulse duration (t1) and intervening pause (t2) is equal to the product of the network period duration JN) and the network frequency (fN) divided by the mechanical oscillation frequency (fs).

Expressed as a formula, the latter condition is:
EMI0001.0036
So every third, fifth or every positive mains voltage half-wave even higher odd ordinal number is used as the drive pulse for the magnet, which results in the integer ratio of oscillation frequency to mains frequency as in the previous proposal.

The so-called astable multivibrator to be used here is known per se and is usually designed as a transistor circuit. It constantly switches from the switching state off to the switching state on and thus, depending on the dimensioning of the relevant switching elements, mostly capacitors or resistors, delivers pulses of any duration and any spacing.

In order to maintain the phase position of the pulses in relation to the mains voltage unchanged over a long period of time, synchronization is required, which is expediently carried out by introducing a mains-frequency alternating voltage into the multivibrator.

Correct polarity ensures that the pulses from the multivibrator hit the controllable rectifier during a forward half-wave of the mains voltage. This then opens and, similar to a thyratron, only blocks again when the current is zero.

Usually, the amplitude of the aforementioned machines must be adjustable, which amounts to a change in the drive current surges. As a further development of the invention, it is proposed that the synchronizing AC voltage is derived from a phase shifter bridge connected to the network, whereby the phase position of the control pulses and thus the start of the driving mains voltage half-wave are changed by almost 1800 can.

In the following, the invention is to be described in more detail, for example, with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3.

FIG. 1 shows the circuit according to the invention in a partially only schematic representation.

<B> The </B> FIGS. 2 and <B> 3 </B> show the individual currents occurring in FIG. <B> 1 </B> for an oscillation frequency <B> equal to </B> half the network frequency and tensions plotted against time. With the setting according to FIG. 2, the maximum, according to FIG. 3, a strongly throttled oscillation range is achieved.

In FIG. 1, the AC mains voltage is designated by U i. The controllable silicon rectifier <B> 5 </B> and the magnet system <B> 6 </B> of the vibrating machine are connected to it in series. The astable multivibrator 2 is fed by a DC voltage source <B> 1 </B> and supplies the voltage pulses <B> U3 </B> which-via an amplifier <B> 3 </B> the two control connections of the controllable silicon rectifier <B> 5 </B> are supplied.

The DC voltage source draws its energy expediently from the network via a transformer and rectifier. The Ver stronger consists in the case of the use of Tran sistors in the multivibrator usually from one or more transistor stages, but this is not relevant to the invention. The box labeled 4 represents a phase-shifter bridge known per se, which is connected to the mains voltage and, by adjusting a potentiometer or a capacitor, the alternating voltage <B> U2 </B> delivers.

This is introduced into the multivibrator and has an unchanged phase relation to the control pulses supplied.

The mode of operation will first be explained with reference to FIG. The phase shifter bridge is then set so that the mains voltage U is in phase with the output voltage <B> U2 </B> (99 <B> = 0). </B> The pulses <B> U3 </ B> begin with the rise in voltage <B> U2 </B> from zero and last over time tj. The pulse duration is insignificant per se and is only selected for as long as is necessary to safely open the controllable rectifier <B> 5 </B>.

At the beginning of the next rectified half-wave of the voltage <B> U2 </B> no pulse appears, only again at the beginning of the third half-wave. Each pulse opens the controllable rectifier <B> 5 </B> and lets the load current <B> 1 </B> flow through the magnet system.

As a result of its inductance, the current flows beyond the next zero crossing of the mains voltage and only ends after about 11 / .2 half-waves.

As long as the mains voltage is on the magnet system, which is represented by <B> U4 </B>. During the rest of the game of two mains periods, the mains voltage is applied to the controllable rectifier, which, as voltage <B> U5 </B> shows, blocks in both directions.

Fig. 3 shows the voltage and current ratios for a different setting of the phase shifter bridge. As can be seen, the voltage <B> U2 </B> rushes (p <B> <I> = </I> 135 '</B> according to the mains voltage. Accordingly, the phase position of the voltage pulses <B> U3 </B> is also shifted. This has the effect that the controllable rectifier opens later and compared to Fig. 2 only a small fraction of the first and third network half-wave occurs as voltage U, 1 at the magnet.

This means that the drive current pulses <B> 1 </B> are also greatly reduced. The amplitude is small. The voltage <B> U5 </B> supplements the voltage <B> U4 </B> in turn to full line voltage.

If the amplitude is to be controlled remotely or influenced by a regulator, it is advisable to replace the adjustable resistor in the phase shifter bridge with a transistor, which then has a setting of almost R <B> <I> = </I> 0 </ B> to R <B> <I> = </I> 00 </B>.
