Description

Scales equipped with a coarse weighing device
The invention relates to scales which are provided with a pre-weighing or coarse weighing device and with a weight load preselection system.

The purpose of the invention is to create a scale in which weights are automatically selected during the coarse weighing process that balance the weight of the object being weighed.

According to the invention, a setting component is provided in a scale that is provided with a rough weighing device (proximity weighing device) and with a preselection system for the weight load, which is deflected during the rough weighing process proportionally to the balance load and, by its position after such a deflection, the Movement of a weight selection device determined, whereby weights are selected such that the balance beam is approximately brought into balance after being released for fine weighing.

This component is preferably designed as a stop arm and assigned to a spring that is deflected by the external equilibrium load during the rough weighing, and locking devices, in particular jamming devices, are provided to hold the stop arm in any position into which it is deflected The stop arm is designed as a stop for a drive component which acts on the weight selection device, so that the position into which the device is driven or set depends on the position of the stop arm.

Features essential to the invention of an embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the drawing. Show it :
1 shows a diagrammatic view from above of a balance of the two-blade equal load design constructed according to the invention,
Fig. 2 in vertical section along the line 2-2 in Fig. 1, the balance beam and some parts of the other devices of the balance,
Fig. 3 in a vertical section along the line 3-3 in Fig. 1 further parts of these devices and
FIG. 4 shows a partial section along the line 4-4 in FIG. 2.

According to the drawing, the balance beam 10 (FIGS. 1 and 2) is mounted pivotably about a cutting edge 11 for weighing purposes, which is located in a pan 12 held by a support frame 13. A load tray 14 is suspended from one end of the balance beam by means of a suspension component 15, which tram a downwardly facing pan 16 at its upper end, which rests on a cutter 17 attached to one end of the beam 10. On the opposite side of the cutting edge 11, the balance beam carries a carriage weight 18 and a piston 19 which is movably seated in a cylinder 21 carried by the frame 13 and dampens the movements of the balance beam in a known manner.

The balance beam also carries a reticle or other scale 22 which is provided with optical means (not shown) and provides a visual display for the position of the balance beam 10. A weight carrier 23, which sits on the suspension beam 15, normally carries an I group of weights, Xd, which act in the opposite direction to the gel weight 18; these weights are individually detachable from the carrier 23 by means of arms 24 in order to create a state in which the remaining weights together with the sample 25 on the load tray 14 are just balancing the counterweight 18.

A locking frame 26 (only shown in FIG. 2) is used to hold the balance beam 10 and separates the cutting edge 11 from the pan 12 when the balance is not in use, the cup 16 on the suspension component 15 also being released from the cutting edge 17. The locking frame 26 is held by a shaft 27, which sits vertically displaceably in guides 28 and is moved up and down by a cam (not shown) seated on a locking shaft 29 to lock and release the balance beam.

The arms 24, which lift the weights from the weight carrier, are all mounted on a shaft 31 and cooperate with cams 32 on a weight selection shaft 33 in such a way that a continuous rotation of the shaft from a position in which all the go weights are on the Carrier are, the decrease in a constantly increasing proportion of the total weight of this carrier is determined.

A Hsbsl 8 mounted on a shaft 86 rests at one end on a cam 87 seated on the locking shaft 29 and at its other end carries a rod 88 which extends below the arms 24 to a lever 89 mounted on a shaft 91. The cam disk 87 is designed in such a way that the rod presses in the locking position and in the rough weighing position at 90 against the arms 24 and thereby lifts the follower pins 93 seated on these from their cam disks 32.

When the balance is released for fine weighing, the rod is moved through the cam disk 87 in such a way that the follower pins on the arms 24 move under the action of springs 92 in contact with their cam disks 32 and can thereby lift weights in such a way that as determined by the position of the weight selection shaft 33.

The locking shaft 29. and. the weight selection shafts are arranged parallel to one another, and between and parallel to them two other shafts 34 and 35 are mounted, which are each referred to below as the drive shaft and coupling shaft. A drive gear 36, which is driven by the locking shaft as described below and is seated on shaft 34, meshes with a smaller gear 37 on the clutch shaft. This smaller gear transmits the rotation via a coupling 38 to another larger gear 39 on the same shaft, and the gear 39 in turn meshes with a smaller gear 41 on the weight selection shaft 33.

The Arretierwoçlle 29 can be pivoted over a total angle of 180; in the middle of its pivoting arc, the locking frame is raised to its highest position for locking the balance beam 10. The shaft 29 can be rotated by a knob 42 (FIG. 1), and when it is rotated clockwise from the central position, as shown in FIG. 2, it releases the balance beam 10 for fine weighing while it is the balance beam is released for an approximation swing when it is turned from the center position counterclockwise.

A spring 43 fastened to the support frame 13 bai 44 presses upwards onto a cutting edge 45 on the balance beam 10 when this is released for rough weighing. At this point in time, all removable weights are held by the weight carrier, so that when a sample is on the load tray, an excess weight acts on the end of the balance beam that supports it and the spring 43 is deflected. If, however, the balance beam 10 is released for fine weighing, an angle lever 46 mounted on the support frame 13 is moved by a cam disk 47 sitting on the locking shaft and presses down on the leaf spring 43 and keeps it away from the cutting edge 45, 3o that it does not Has an effect on the balance beam.

At the free end. A stop arm 48 is attached to the leaf spring 43, the position of which is determined by the deflection of this leaf spring during a rough weighing process. A clamping device 49 shown in detail in FIG. 4 is closed during the initial stages of the return of the locking shaft into the locking position and holds the stop arm 48 in the position in which it is set during the rough weighing. The clamping device 49 comprises two legs 51 which are articulated to one another at 52 and which grasp the stop arm between their one ends when their other ends are pressed apart by a toggle lever mechanism 53 acting between them.

This clamping device is actuated by an angle lever 54, which in turn is controlled by a cam disk 55 seated on the locking shaft. The cam disk 55 is arranged on the locking shaft 29 in such a way that it is only rotated by this when the shaft is rotated clockwise from the coarse weighing position into the fine weighing position; the one-way drive device used for this is designed similarly to the device described below for another cam disk.

The cam projections closing the clamping device are arranged on the cam disk 55 in such a way that the clamping device 49 is only closed during the movement of the locking shaft 29 from the rough weighing position back into the locking position.

A cam disk 56 similar to the cam disk 55 on the locking shaft is, as shown in FIG. 2, driven by the latter by means of a pawl 57 on the cam body which is in engagement with one of two ratchet teeth 58 on a disk 59 fastened on the locking shaft 29, and although this arrangement is designed in such a way that the cam disk is only driven clockwise. An arm articulated on the shaft 34 cooperates with projections on the cam disk 56 in such a way that it is moved clockwise during each movement of the locking shaft from the rough weighing position into the locking position and while the clamping device is effective.

The arm 61 is coupled to the drive gear 36 by a coupling spring 63, which acts to transmit a rotary movement to this gear with the arm, the weight selection shaft 33 being driven via the gear train 36,37,39,41 and via the coupling 38. A pin 64 seated eccentrically on the drive gear 36 has a movement path such that when the gear 36 rotates at a point which is dependent on the position of the stop arm 48, it comes to rest against a stop 65 on this stop arm, so that the latter that position to which the weight selection shaft 33 is moved is determined, and thereby also determines which weights are to be lifted from the weight carrier 23. Further movement of the arm 61 causes the spring 63 to expand.

The initial position of the arm 61 is determined by a return spring 60 which pulls this arm against the cam disk 56, and the drive gear 36 is set relative to the arm 61 by a stop 66 on the drive wheel, against which the arm is pulled by the spring 63.

So that the preselected weight shaft can return to its normal position, in which all weights are preselected to act on the carrier 23 (conveniently called their zero position), the coupling 38 is released by a face cam disk 67 seated on the locking shaft 29, namely by means of a lever 68 which has a fork end 69 with pins which engage in a circumferential groove in one of the coupling elements. The spur cam disk is arranged on the locking shaft in such a way that the coupling 38 is only in engagement during the rotation of the gearwheel 36 by means of the arm 61.

The zero setting mechanism according to FIGS. 1 and 3 comprises a heart-shaped cam disk 71 fastened to the weight selection shaft, a two-armed lever 72 mounted pivotably on the shaft 83, a second two-armed lever 73 mounted on the shaft 84, a tension spring 74 connecting the two levers and a on the lever 73 acting cam disc 75. This cam disc 75 is by means of a ratchet mechanism 76, which is similar to the one already described, driven in such a way that during the initial stages of the movement of the locking shaft 29 from the locking position after the rough weighing one The end of the lever 72 is pressed against the edge or the circumference of the heart-shaped cam disk 71 in order to bring the weight selection shaft into its zero position.

On the weight selection shaft 33, a gear wheel 77 is also provided, which has a number of teeth equal to the number of different weight values that can be selected. A two-armed handle 78 is mounted on the shaft 83, one end rests on the circumference of the cam disk 79 on the locking shaft 29 and is provided at its other end with a ratchet tooth 81 for engaging the toothed wheel 77. The cam disk 79 is designed so that the ratchet tooth is lifted out of the toothed wheel 77 when the locking shaft moves from the locking position to the rough weighing position and remains raised until the shaft has almost reached the locking position when it moves back.

A spring 82 acting on the lever 78 pulls it into engagement with the toothed wheel when the lever is released by the cam disk 79.

The operating sequence resulting from the rotation of the locking shaft 29 into the rough weighing position consists initially in that the ratchet tooth 81 is lifted out of the toothed wheel 77 on the weight, selection shaft 33 and that the zero position lever 72 then acts on the heart-shaped cam disk 71 and brings the weight selection shaft 33 to zero. The balance beam 10 is then released and the coarse weighing spring 43 is deflected, the stop arm 48 moving with it. The locking shaft 29 has now reached the rough weighing position.

Upon return movement, the clamping device is engaged and holds the stop arm 48 against movement, the clutch 38 is engaged, and the drive arm 61 is driven by its cam disc, transmits torque to the drive wheel 36 and drives the weight selection shaft 33 via the Clutch and the gear train. The path over which this shaft is driven depends on the position of the stop arm 48, namely the pin 64 of the drive wheel 36 comes to rest on the stop arm 48 and thereby ends the rotation of the wheel, and the arm 61 pulls during its remaining stroke the clutch spring 63 apart.

The movement of the locking shaft is multiplied by the gear 36, 37, 39, 41, so that the weight selection w, Se Ibsi can only perform a complete revolution with only a relatively small angular movement of the locking shaft. When the latter shaft reaches the locking position, the ratchet 81 again engages the toothed wheel 77 and the coupling 38 and the clamping device 49 are released.

The teeth of the toothed wheel 77 are shaped such that the ratchet tooth 81 holds the wheel in one of a plurality of predetermined positions corresponding to the specific weights and rotates it further to the position for selecting the next lower weight when the shaft stops between two specific weight positions.

The locking shaft 29 is first rotated into the fine weighing position, whereby the rod 88 is moved, the selected weights can be lifted from the weight carrier 23 and the balance beam 10 is released. The coarse balance spring 43 is simultaneously deflected by the lever 46 out of the range of motion of the balance beam 10. The reticle or other indicator 22 indicates the degree of imbalance, and if the deflection when the balance beam comes to rest is within the range of the indicator, the weight of the object can be read directly, even if it is not small Weights can be used to bring the reading to the scale.

After the return of the locking shaft 29 into the locking position after a fine weighing process, the spring is tensioned once, which acts on the lever 72 which rests on the heart-shaped cam disk 71 which is ready for the zeroing process of the weight selection shaft during the next coarse weighing process , and furthermore the shaft 88 is thereby brought into the position in which the arms 24 are kept out of contact with their cam disks 32.

Even if, in the embodiment of the invention described above, the individual processes are all carried out by manual forces exerted on the locking shaft, an electrically controlled drive device, for example, can in principle also be used for this purpose. The invention can also be used in scales with three-edge bars. The respective mechanism for selecting and moving the weights and the locking device of the scales can be implemented in any known manner.

PAIENT claim With a coarse weighing device and a preselection system for applying weights provided scales, characterized in that it has an adjusting component which is deflectable during the rough weighing process proportionally to the balance load and whose position after such deflection determines the setting movement of a weight preselection direction in such a way that dal3 as a result, such a selection of weights is brought about that the balance beam is roughly in equilibrium after the release for fine weighing.
