Description

Running rail The invention relates to a running rail made of a box section with two ge by a longitudinal slot separated tracks, which for recessed mounting in a carrier, for. B. made of wood, as it is preferably used for hanging sliding doors of furniture or curtains.

Such running rails are usually embedded in grooves with a rectangular cross section. Since holes are provided in the back of the rail for mounting them. This type of attachment is quite time-consuming and also has the following disadvantages in the case of running rails for hangers: So that the screw holes in the back of the rail do not tear out when the running rails are subjected to greater stress, the back of the rail must have a thickness corresponding to the stress. Furthermore, a secure screw connection can only be achieved if sufficient wood material can accommodate the screws.

Furthermore, a countersinking of the screw holes is not necessary, because there is often insufficient space left for protruding screw heads.

According to the invention, these disadvantages are avoided by the fact that the side walls of the rail profile from the back of the rail to the running tracks are shaped so that the running rail is inserted in the longitudinal direction in a correspondingly formed groove in the carrier, in this without special fastening means stuck. The side walls can, for.

   B. run against each other in a wedge shape from the back of the rail to the running tracks, for inserting the running rail into a dovetail-shaped groove provided in the carrier. This solution is particularly simple to manufacture and, while avoiding screws, enables relatively weak running rails to be securely fastened, even to wooden beams of small thickness. In the drawing, two such rails are shown as exemplary embodiments of the invention in cross section.

As a running rail serves according to Fig. 1, a box profile 1 with two, ge by a longitudinal slot 2 separated tracks 3. The side walls 4 of the profile run from the back of the rail 5 to the tracks 3 towards wedge-shaped against each other, the inclination of both side walls is preferably the same. The running rail is preferably made of metal, for. B. aluminum or an aluminum alloy, in rare cases made of a plastic such. B. nylon.

This running rail is provided for the sunk Mon days in a support 6 made of wood or wood-like material, for which the support 6 is given a dovetail-shaped groove 7, the flanks of which have the same inclination as the side walls 4 of the box section 1. The running rail also has two lateral projections 8, which serve as stops to limit the depth of ider running rail.

To insert the running rail, it is pushed laterally in the longitudinal direction into the dovetail-shaped groove 7 in the carrier 6. No further means or measures to attach the running rail are required. The load-bearing capacity of the parts 9 of the wooden beam 6 forming the groove flanks also carries a multiple .der that of the usual screw connection.

The side walls 4 can also be curved or shaped differently instead of straight.

In the running rail according to FIG. 2, longitudinal ribs 18 are on the outside at the upper end of the side walls, which are inserted into a correspondingly shaped groove in the carrier 6. The side legs on which the ribs 18 are located are parallel here. The protrusion of the ribs corresponds at least to the leg thickness below the ribs 18.
