Description

   Lc    signal A2 est toujours au niveau  0  lorsque le signal Ef est au niveau  1 , lorsque ce dernier est au niveau  0 , le signal A2 peut passer du niveau  0  au niveau  1  I   ))   à la condition que le signal E, soit au niveau  1 ;

1, formé des portes OU IN

The present invention relates to a device for eliminating the disturbing effects of parasitic twists and switches of a contact for a timepiece. comprising a timer logic electronic circuit provided with at least one contact signal input connection for receiving a signal established by said contact and at least one timing frequency input connection for receiving a frequency in the form of 'a binary signal, this logic circuit being constituted in such a way that the information of said contact is restored on an output of the device with a delay established on the basis of said frequency, and that a change of level of the information of said contact is only transmitted to said output if it is maintained jointly with a determined number, at least equal to 2,

successive jumps of the binary signal at said frequency.

In timepieces where at least some functions are electrical. and in particular in electronic wristwatches. we usually have one or more contacts, which can be actuated from the outside, and which are used for example to set the time, to set the date, etc. In a wristwatch, these contacts are necessarily of very small dimensions and preferably include a very fine blade or a thin and fragile contactor member which, unless of a particularly expensive construction, does not provide very high performance. from the switching point of view.

The imperfections of these contacts are reflected mainly by a tendency to <<bounces at the instants of the switching operations, as well as by a notable risk of parasitic switching under the effect of shocks or strong accelerations undergone by the wristwatch; these parasitic switching often consist of a brief closing (a few milliseconds) when the contact should be open. but the reverse (brief opening when the contact should be closed) can also very well occur.

These parasitic twists and turns, occurring on a contact serving to cause temporary changes in the operation of the watch, risk having very annoying disturbing effects. all the more harmful as the state disturbances they can produce, for example the watch taking a fraction of a second in advance each time it undergoes a notable shock
affect a timepiece. in particular a quartz watch, renowned for its high precision.

The problem consists in eliminating these drawbacks, if not by avoiding parasitic twists and switching, which would be difficult, at least by removing their disturbing effects. constitutes a specific problem concerning the clock parts of small dimensions, given the impossibility to apply to these parts solutions commonly used in electricity and general electronics.

Indeed, these solutions of electricity or general electronics consist, on the one hand, of mechanical measures to stop the contact element with a certain force in each of its positions (elements of the type <(micro-switch) and . on the other hand, in electrical or electronic measurements consisting in introducing a time constant using a capacitor. that is to say in using a capacitor which must then have a sufficiently large capacity to block during a certain time (delay. time delay) the effects of the switching of the contact.

These solutions are not practicable in watch parts of small dimensions. and in particular in electronic wristwatches, given the size and in certain cases the additional energy consumption that they imply. and given also. in the event that a capacitor necessarily of a certain capacity would be used, the impossibility of producing the necessary components in integrated circuits, and in particular in C MOS integrated circuits, which equip most of the electronic watches and beside which one seeks to have as few other elements as possible.

The need to have a device for removing the disturbing effects of twists and turns and parasitic switching which is compatible with the integrated circuit technique used in watchmaking is all the greater when it is in watches equipped with such circuits. that is, wristwatches. that we are most likely to have such parasitic twists and switches. and that it is also in these watches that these parasitic twists and switches are likely to be the most troublesome since the deviations that they cause will be all the more untimely as the precision of the watch is great.

A performance which also proves to be very desirable for such a device intended for a watch concerns the possibility of adapting the time value up to which pulses or brief switching of the contact will be treated as parasitic switching. that is to say the maximum period of parasitic switching whose effect can be eliminated. to take into account special conditions. for example from the fact that a watch. due to the activity of its wearer, there is a risk of being called upon to undergo prolonged accelerations or intense vibrations during notable periods. etc.

In the case of a device operating by time delay using a time constant (capacitor), a change of the duration parameter in question would imply a change or an addition of a component: to double this duration value, one should for example doubling the capacity and therefore the volume of a capacitor. which would hardly be practicable in a watch of small dimensions.

This adaptability performance of the maximum parasitic switching time remaining without disturbing effect cannot be achieved by applying known solutions in general electronics to a watch. Indeed. the general electronic solutions which would allow such adaptability would not be applicable in a watch already for reasons of size and complication. and the general electronic solutions which could, as a last resort and not without difficulty, be applied to a watch would not in any case present such adaptability.

The general idea of eliminating the efiects of twists and parasitic impulses in a watch using a timer, in the form of a counter receiving the input information after hashing it at a determined frequency, the counter counting the pulses resulting from this hash, could oippa- remely be considered as disclosed by the published French patent application N 9150706. considering all the elements grouped in box IV of FIG. I of this talk.

Note, however, that. by its very purpose which is to eliminate the effect of a brief passage of a contactor arm on a point of contact. this device only works in one direction (brief closing when the contact should be open). However, nothing in this discussion suggests an arrangement that would work both ways. that is to say would eliminate both the effects of a brief opening when the contact should be closed and those of a brief closing when the contact should be open. However, it is this performallce. which in this case would be interesting to obtain.

The principle of at least partial elimination of the effects of the bounces of a contact or of any element delivering a simple signal. using a timer of the shift register type is proposed in US Pat. No. 3624618. In this case. a frequency applied as a clock pulse causes binary information 0 or '<I to travel along the shift register and an output signal is provided only when the different stages of the register are in coincident states .

Such a device (comprising a shift register timer and not a counter timer) however has the disadvantage of functions ner by sampling> n the reference frequency defining
the instants of sampling of the input signal.

   This particularity.
unimportant for the elimination of a single short parasitic pulse. becomes very troublesome when there is a succession of parasitic pulses (case of a vibration) on the contact in a random manner. depending on the phase of the vibration. and it will consider on average once in two a vibratory input signal as a direct and lasting switching signal, in one direction or the other, which will cause it to cause level switching at its output.

Apart from the fact that this is not a device intended for a watch, it will be seen that the disclosure of this American disclosure does not suggest an arrangement which adequately solves the problem posed since a device such as it would be desirable in a watch should. in the presence of a succession of parasitic pulses (or vibrations). certainly do not cause any change of state on exit.

An article in the journal Wireless World> N "1424 of February 1971 touches on the problem of suppressing twists in a brief and incidental manner on page 56. However, it does nothing but suggest. As it did. moreover also the aforementioned US disclosure. the use of an input conditioner circuit which allows the suppression of bounces on the condition only that the contact is of the switching type (with a working contact point and a working contact point. of rest) much more cumbersome than a simple switch.

To completely solve the problem of eliminating the effects of parasitic switching precisely in the case of a simple switch contact. this article in Wireless World is therefore of no help.

We could still consider the German disclosure booklet
No. 23: 36328 which in fact presents a counting arrangement by means of which a delay is obtained on the basis of a frequency of 32 Hz. Apart from a quite accidental coincidence of digits for frequencies which are otherwise widely used. differently, this German patent disclosure does not present anything which relates to the problem previously considered and which resembles the solution which the invention will provide. There is no passage in this German patent disclosure which would suggest that the counter arrangement cn question is proposed as an element of a device for suppressing spurious twists and switching.

The aim of the present invention is to provide a device for eliminating the disturbing effects of parasitic twists and turns of an electrical contact of a timepiece. very particularly in the case where this contact is a simple switch contact, the effect of this device having to be bidirectional. that is to say concern both a brief closing when the contact should be open and a brief opening when the contact should be closed.

this device must also be particularly well suited to the conditions of an electric timepiece and in particular of an electric wristwatch, in particular of the type with CMOS integrated circuits. the structure of the targeted device still having to allow, if desired, an adaptation of the value for the duration of parasitic switchings until the disturbing effects of these switchings are surely eliminated.

In accordance with the invention, the device for suppressing the disturbing effects of the bounces and switching sites of a contact for a timepiece. of the type previously defined. is characterized in that said logic electronic circuit comprises a first and a second set which each comprise a hash gate, that of the first set receiving on one input a signal representing direct information from said contact and on another input said binary signal to said frequency and that of the second set receiving on two corresponding inputs respectively the inverses of these two signals, the output signals of these gates reproducing,

but chopped at said frequency and with interleaving of the hash such that one signal passes each time the other is interrupted and vice versa. respectively said signal and the inverse of said signal representing the contact information, each said assembly further comprising a counter arrangement having a count input connected to the output of the hash gate of the corresponding assembly and a reset input connected to the output of the hash gate of the other set, each counter arrangement delivering an output signal only after reception. without intermediate resetting to zero, said determined number of pulses of the chopped signal applied to its count input.

so that the counter arrangement of any of the two sets does not provide its output signal, after receipt of said determined number of pulses. that provided that no chopped signal pulse has in the meantime been applied to the counter arrangement of the other set, the output signal of the counter arrangement of said first set causing an output store to switch to state I, while the output signal of the counter arrangement of said second set causes this output store to change to state 0.

Advantageously, said determined number is 2, so that said counter arrangement supplies its output signal after the appearance of two pulses of the chopped signal; otherwise. said frequency is advantageously of the order of 30 Hz in order to eliminate at least all the parasitic switchings and all the bounces which would last less than about 15 milliseconds.

In an electronic watch. we have without difficulty available intermediate frequencies, one of which is most often 32 Hz and we still have other frequencies, for example
16 Hz. Which could allow if necessary, by a simple modification of connections. to double the duration of parasitic pulses remaining without disturbing effect.

If preferred, however, with the device according to the invention, it is still possible to have a contact of the switch type. the rest position then being from the point of view of the device. indifferently with open contact or closed contact on the rest contact point, the latter contact point being connected to ground to establish a low impedance on the input of the device bypassing any parasitic pulses capacitively induced from the device. outside.

It is clear that the device according to the invention, as first defined or according to one of the advantageous embodiments mentioned subsequently, will be very advantageously but not necessarily established in the form of an integrated circuit with C; MOS components. , so as to be able to equip an electronic wristwatch.

The accompanying drawing illustrates by way of example. embodiments of the object of the invention preceded by explanatory illustrations which do not yet correspond to this object. in this drawing:
fig. I represents by way of preliminary explanation, the block diagram of a device for suppressing the disturbing effects of the parasitic twists and switching of a contact, but functioning only with regard to the threadable twists and the commutations occurring in one direction,
fig. 2 is a diagram as a function of time representing the evolution of the logic levels at different points of the device according to FIG. I, during the operation of it
 fig.

3 represents the block diagram of a company executing a device in accordance with the invention, for suppressing in both directions the disturbing effects of bounces and parasitic switching of a contact for a timepiece.
fig. 3a represents. in the form of a block diagram, a variant of part of the device shown in FIG. 3.and
ia fig. 4 is a diagram as a function of time showing the evolution of the logic levels at different points of the device according to FIG. 3, during the operation thereof.

Fig. I represents a relatively simple device and not yet constituting an embodiment of the proposed design, intended to operate with a contact S of the switch type (or permutator). This contact S provides information in two concrete logical states. One where ii applies a positive voltage (ligic level 1) to a rest contact point connected to an input connection Kb, and the other where it applies this logic level I (positive voltage) to a point dc contact input work. In this case, the shift register device will react to be connected to another Ka input connection of the device.

The latter comprises an input conditioner stage formed of two INVERSE OR gates 6 and 7. the output of gate 6 providing a signal C1 which represents the state of contact S. This input conditioner stage 6 and 7. is equivalent to an RS type flip-nop suppresses the indeterminacy which occurs when the S contact, during a commutation or during bounces. is in an intermediate position where it touches neither its point of rest contact nor its point of working contact.

This input conditioner stage only changes the state of its output when the S contact actually reaches its working position (level '<1 applied to the Ka input connection) from its rest position, or when this contact, from its working position, actually reaches its rest position (level 1 1 on input connection Kb).

Fig. 2 shows by the curves Fa and Cl that the output information Cl of the door 6 is always the inverse of the information supplied by the contact S (information or input signal E4 on the input connection Ka) to this meadows that when the contact S, located in the working position, undergoes small bounces RB 'which do not however bring it up to reestablish level 1 on the input connection Kb. the output signal C1 of the input conditioner stage does not undergo level changes.

Yes. On the other hand. the contact S is subject to parasitic switching, or to a large amplitude bounce. which causes it to switch entirely. that is to say, by passing from one of its concrete positions to the other, the signal C1 will reproduce this parasitic switching. as shown for example by the right part of FIG. 2 where we see that positive parasitic switching (brief accidental passages in the working position during a period when the contact is normally in the rest position)
CP are retransmitted. with inversion, on the CI signal. also called the S.

The device shown in FIG. 1 is arranged to reproduce the input signal E on an output QQ; of the contact, or more exactly the reverse of the signal CI delivered by the input conditioner 6 7, but by eliminating parasitic switchings such as the switchings CP represented on the curve Ed in FIG. 2. Note that if negative parasitic switching (brief accidental passages of the contact in the rest position during a period when it is normally in the working position) occur, the device according to fig. I is not designed to eliminate the effects: it will be different with the device according to FIG. 3 which will be examined later. The device of FIG.

I is therefore designed for the case where the danger of such negative parasitic switching is practically non-existent.

In the device according to tig. 1 protection against bouncing back to the intermediate position of the contact is is obtained by the input conditioner stage 6. 7: this protection is supplemented by another arrangement for the protection against parasitic switching The latter is implemented in the device according to FIG. 1 by a timer arrangement which comprises a Z4 assembly including an OR IN gate
VERSE 1. ct a counter formed by two flip-flops 2 and 3 (in the figure of type D) mounted as a binary flip-flop). and which further comprises an output memorizer formed of two OR IN gates
VERSE 5 and 5 '
Gate I of assembly Z4 receives on the one hand the signal C1 from the input conditioner stage 6, 7.

and on the other hand a binary signal Er of frequency i '. applied to a K input connection
This frequency. of approximately 30 Hz or typically 32 Hz is taken from one of the dividing stages of the electronic watch, provided that this cl-cell is of the type which drives a high frequency up to a frequency of I Hz or a few Hz; if applicable. if the watch nc provides for example a frequency of the order of a few hundred Herz, an auxiliary integrated circuit divider provided be used.

Fig. 2 clearly shows how the device of FIG. T works, it will also be useful for better understanding the functioning of the more sophisticated device which will be described in connection with FIGS. 3 and 4. Regarding the operation of the device according to FIG. 1. fig. 2 shows that the frequency f chops. in gate 1. the reverse of the CI signal. that is to say the signal S of the contact, each time the latter has the level I as shown by curve C2.

This chopped signal C2 is then counted by the counter arrangement formed by the two flip-flops 2 and 3, as shown by curves C3 and C4 in FIG. 1. Finally. the output memory 5.5 'goes to level 1 as soon as the output signal C4 of flip-flop 3 has passed at least once at level 1. this memorizer returning to zero, at the same time as the two flip-flops 2 and 3, as soon as the signal C1 returns to level 1. that is to say as soon as the contact signal returns to the zero level corresponding to the rest position of this contact.

As shown in the right part of fig. 2, so that the signal C4 at the output of the flip-flop 3 can go to level 1, the input signal must have been in at least two successive pulses. which can only occur if the input signal Ea (S) remained at the level "I... while a rising jump St1 and a falling jump St2 of the binary signal 1 at the frequency f were successively occurring.

It can be seen, for example, that the two parasitic switchings CP shown in FIG. 2 are too short and each provide only a chopped signal pulse C2. so that they do not cause a change in signal C4 and therefore do not pass the output of the memorizer 5, 5 'to level 1. 1 1. It would be otherwise in the case. shown in dotted lines to the far right of FIG. 2, or a spurious switch would last long enough for a stl climb jump. followed by a descent jump St2 of the frequency signal E occurs during state I of this parasitic switching.

There would then be two chopped signal pulses C2. therefore a double tilting of the nip-nop f2, and at least one passage of the nip-nop ff3 to level 1. 1. which would result in an impulse on the QQ output of the output memorizer 5.

5 '. The right part of fig. 2 therefore represents the case of parasitic switching, the duration of which felt so long that the device would no longer succeed in eliminating the effects thereof. In fact, practice has shown that parnsite switchings hardly ever last more than ten milliseconds. and with a frequency f of about 30 Hz, i.e. a period of at least 30 milliseconds. spurious switching up to 15 milliseconds is certainly eliminated.

If it is desired to eliminate parasitic switching. for example up to a double duration, it would suffice to connect to the input Ks a binary signal of frequency half as high.

This would be possible without any complications or additional bulk.

It is also noted that the passage from level 0 to level I at the signal qq on the output QQ of the device is delayed by a time Tr which. depending on the conditions. can vary between 0.5 and 1.5 times the period Tf of the applied frequency, a period which is in this case about 30 milliseconds, the delay therefore varying between the limits of about 15 and about 45 milliseconds. This plays absolutely no role for the functions which one wishes to accomplish frequently at the signal established from the contact S. that is to say the signal qq.

It should be noted that all the elements of the device can be produced in the form of an integrated circuit C MOS and that they can easily be integrated into a circuit further comprising all the elements desired for an electronic movement of a quartz watch.

Fig. 3 shows as an embodiment of the particular design specifically proposed. a device for suppressing the disturbing effects of bounces and parasitic switching notably more advanced than that of FIG. I. This device of lt fie. 3 is able to operate with a contact S of the type of a simple switch, the information it provides being at level "I when this contact is closed and delivers a positive voltage and at level 0 when this contact is open or when , as shown in dotted lines in FIG.

3, it is closed against the mass in order to provide, by a low impedance to the mass, protection against parasitic voltages which could be capacitively induced therein from the outside (in this case the contact S is in fact a contact switch, but only its switch part closed in the working position plays a role for the logical operation of the device). This contact leads to an input connection Ks either a level 1 1 (contact closed against a positive voltage) or a level 0 (contact not closed against a positive voltage).

This device comprises two parts which work on inverse signals, a part receiving the direct signal E, from the contact and the direct signal Ef of the frequency (preferably 32 Hz) delivered on its input connection Kf. and the other part receiving, via inverters 25 and 29 respectively, the inverse signals Es and and Ef. Each of these parts comprises an assembly, respectively Z14 and Z24, practically identical to the assembly Z4 of the device according to FIG. I. On the other hand, the input conditioner is, in the case of fig. 3, replaced by a preliminary gate. respectively 16 and 26 which is coupled in the manner of a self-holding RS flip-flop with the door, respectively 11 and 21, comprised by said assembly, respectively Z14 and Z24.

The outputs of the two parts, that is to say the output of the Z14 assembly and the output of the Z24 assembly. are connected to an output memorizer 15, 15 ', in such a way that the latter makes its output QQ pass to state 1 when the output signal of the first set, Z14, passes to state 1 1 and causes QQ output at state 0 when the output of the second set, T24. goes to state I.

Fig. 4 clearly illustrates the operation of the device according to FIG. 3. the curve Es (signal on the input Ks) being plotted so as to represent practically all possible cases of parasitic switching. straightforward or bouncing of the contact S and bouncing voluntary switching of this contact, taking into account the level at which the signal Er of frequency f is located at the start and at the end of the parasitic switching and, or of the duration of the bounces.

Gates 11 and 21 of sets Z14 and Z24 are again hash gates. and, considering the interconnection of these gates with one of the preliminary gates 16 and 26 respectively receiving the signal ES and the signal E ,. they deliver signals at their output. A2 and B2 respectively which are defined as follows:
   Signal A2 is always at level 0 when signal Ef is at level 1, when the latter is at level 0, signal A2 can pass from level 0 to level 1 I)) on condition that signal E is at level 1;

on the other hand, once it has reached level 1, signal A2 remains there independently of the level of signal E, as long as signal Ef is at level 0, and, in accordance with the first above-mentioned condition. it naturally returns to level 0 when the signal Ef returns to level 1)).

For signal B2, things happen in the same way, except that signal E is replaced by signal E, and signal Ex is replaced by signal Ef. Fig. 4 shows that the two signals A2 and B2 can never be simultaneously in state I)) 1 1 and that, depending on the state of signal E, (and E0. One of these two signals A2 and B2 is always at state 0 while the other performs successive switchovers from state 0 to state 1 and from state 1 to state 0 in correspondence with the evolution of signal Er for signal A2 and of signal E for signal B2 It can be seen that the bounces RB of signal B are never reported as such on signals A2 and B2.

On the other hand. CP parasitic switching. one way or the other. just as bounces occurring in conjunction with spurious switching or jointly with intentional switching can affect signals A2 and
B2. but, insofar as these parasitic CP switching or these
RB rebound periods do not span two jumps
successive St1 and St2 of the frequency signal E (or Et). these various bounces and parasitic switching are reflected at most by a single pulse on the signals A2 and B2.

Regarding fig. 4 it should be noted that the different cases of parasitic switching or possible twists have been introduced on the curve Es in accordance with the legend at the bottom of the figure. The RB bounce periods occurring during voluntary switching are distinguished from the RB bouncing periods occurring during parasitic switching by the fact that with a parasitic switching the state of the signal E is the same before and after the bounce period. while with voluntary commutations the state of signal E is different before and after the bounce period.

On the left half of fig. 4, until the fourth bounce period RB occurring during a voluntary switchover, all switchings and bounce periods are shown once in one direction, then once in the other direction, i.e. say once by causing signal A2 to react in a first way and signal B2 in another way and once by making signal A2 react in said other way and signal 112 in said first way.

For the rest of fig. 4. right part, we have taken into consideration the possibilities which remained only in one direction, that is to say that not all the reaction possibilities are illustrated for each of the two signals A2 and B2. but that all are for one or the other of these two signals, that is to say A2. is
B2.

It remains to be seen how the signals A2 and B2 act on the counter arrangements 12, 13 and 22, respectively, included in the sets Z14 and Z24. It can be seen that signal A2, each time it jumps from state 0 to state 1, switches flip nop 12 as shown by the curve of signal A3 in FIG. 4, this flip-flop 12 making in turn, each time it jumps from state I 1 to state 0, flip flip-flop 13. as shown by the curve of signal A4 in FIG. 4. By the way. each time it is at state 1, the signal A2 resets (and if this were necessary would maintain) the flip-flops counters 22 and 23 of the other set to 0.

Z24. Conversely, Ic signal B2 switches flip-flops 22 and 23 of set Z24 and resets flip-flops 12 and 13 of set Z14 to 0. So that the output signal A4 of the flip-op 13 or the output signal B4 of the flip-flop 23 can go to level 1. it is necessary, as the diagram of fig. 3 and the diagram of FIG. 4. that the homologous signal which controls it (A2 for A4 and B2 for B4) has been subjected to two successive pulses without the other control signal having been subjected in the meantime to a pulse.

As a result, the single pulse that a spurious switching CP or a bounce RB can cause on one of the signals A2 and B2 can never cause the corresponding signal A4 or B4 to switch to state 1, so that these signals cannot can in no case be affected by parasitic switching or bouncing. Only the result of voluntary communication. which, as a result of the hashing in a gate II or 21, makes it possible to have several successive pulses on a signal A2 or B2. can bring one of the signals A4 or B4 to level I '1. whereby the output store 15, 15 'is caused to assume the corresponding state.

The last curve in fig. 4, which represents the signal on the QQ output of the memorizer 15, 15 'clearly shows that the output QQ is obtained with a variable but never significant delay. The image of the evolution of the input signal levels
Es. but in a manner free from any bounce and parasitic switching.

If the voluntary commutations are free from twists. the delay in question may vary as in the case of the device according to FIG. 1. between 0.5 and 1.5 times the period of the frequency f; if voluntary commutations are accompanied by twists. this delay will be within the same limits but from the moment the twists have ceased. whatever the duration of these twists (as long as they take place the device cannot know whether or not it is indeed a voluntary switching).

Fig. 3a illustrates a possible variant for the input elements of the device according to FIG. 3. This device includes an input conditioner stage formed by two OR gates
INVERSE 18 and 28, identical in constitution to the input conditioner of the device of FIG. 1, formed by OR IN gates
VERSE 6 and 7.

Contact S provides its information by signaling its working position by a positive voltage (level 1) applied to an input connection Ka '(signal E3) while it signals its rest position by a positive voltage applied to a connection input Kb '(input signal Eb). The two doors 18 and 28 of the inlet conditioner of FIG. 3a respectively deliver signals A1 'and 111' which are conditioned in the same way as the signal C1 of the arrangement of FIG. I (with simply an inversion relative to the position of the contact for signal B1 ').

These conditioned signals Al ′ and Bl ′ therefore avoid reproducing the bounces of the contact S provided that they are only partial, that is to say that the contact having left a point of contact by bounce does not arrive however not at the other point of contact. These output signals A1 'and B1' are applied respectively to gates 17 and 27 analogous to gates II and 21 of the device of FIG. 3 and supplied moreover like them by the signal Ef and Eç. respectively. The outputs of the gates 17 and 27 provide signals A2 'and B2' which can be applied in the device of FIG. 3 instead of their A2 and B2 counterparts.

This variant of FIG. 3a has the advantage of being slightly simpler than the corresponding arrangement of FIG. 3. but on the other hand it does not provide such absolute security with regard to twists and turns. in the event that these are complete. that is to say of such an amplitude that they would come as far as closing the circuit ontre the opposite point of contact after having opened the circuit against the point of contact supposed to be closed. Furthermore. the device according to FIG. 3a requires a switch type S contact (or permutator) and cannot be satisfied. like the device according to FIG. 3. with a single switch contact.

It should also be noted that. if we want to increase the maximum duration that a parasitic switching can have to remain certainly without disturbing effects. we have, as already mentioned, the possibility of increasing, for example of doubling. the period of the hash frequency. By increasing this period, the delay in the reaction of the output signal qq is of course increased with respect to the input signal supplied by the contact. this for all the devices and variants of devices considered up to now.

However. at the same time, the range in which this delay can vary (0.5 to 1.5 x T1) is increased; There would be another way to increase the maximum duration of parasitic switching remaining without disturbing effects and at the same time the delay of the output signal with respect to the input signal. but without at the same time increasing the width of the range of possible variations for this delay. This way of doing things would consist. in the meter arrangements of the Z14, Z24 sets. to plan for a greater number of flip-flops. in such a way that the output memorizer can only be caused to switch if the signal A2, B2, A2 '. B2 '. coming out of the hash gate 21,17,27,
 I of said set Z14.

Z24, has already supplied more than two pulses. for example four pulses. eight pulses. depending on the number of nip-nops. or even, using other counting means.
any number of pulses not necessarily the power of 2.

It should also be noted that in the counter arrangements of the Zl4 sets. Z24, the second llip-flop 13. 23 is only present because one does not want to provide an operation with transmission of capacitive pulses. as was the case with the formerly known flip-flops. attacked by capacitors. If we wanted to use such an old style flip-flop to realize the output memory, we could apply it on two capacitive inputs. in the case of fig. 3. the signals which are applied directly to the inputs C1 of flip-flops 13 and 23.

In this case, only level 0 level I jumps should be able to switch the flip-flop constituting the output memory.

This way of doing things, although making it possible to save a flip-fIop, would however have the disadvantage of not allowing the complete realization of the device in the form of an integrated circuit and in particular of a C / MOS integrated circuit while all the embodiments shown in the drawing allow such an integrated circuit C MOU embodiment which is a great advantage for an embodiment in an electronic wristwatch. The few integrated elements necessary for the production of the devices shown in FIGS. 3 and 3a could moreover advantageously be integrated in addition to the already very numerous integrated elements of the general circuit of the watch, within the same or the same integrated plates.

Although the devices described above develop their advantages above all in the case of electronic wristwatches with a high frequency oscillator. however, they could prove to be equally useful in other watches or timepieces which are at least partly electric or electronic.
