Dies wird beim erfindungsgemässen Verfahren zum Bearbeiten eines aus einem Glasofen ausflies, senden Glasstromes und zum Entfernen oder Einset zen von- Werkzeugen zum Formen des Glasbandes;

Flachglas her (Fig. 8).
Method for processing a glass stream flowing out of a glass furnace and for removing or inserting tools for shaping the glass ribbon, without the flowing glass stream to interrupt,
and means for performing the method in processing one of a. Glass furnace outflowing glass stream to flat glass or in the production of profiled building glass from the still deformable glass ribbon, it is known to produce glass products of the same or different shape from a glass stream next to or above one another on different production lines by means of corresponding deformation devices.
It is also known to take several separate glass streams from a glass furnace and to feed them separately to the forming tools. This makes it possible to provide the construction industry with glass elements that are designed and profiled precisely for their purpose.
The deformation tools, which give the glass band the desired profile, must be designed differently or prepared differently for each profile. With each transition from the production of a different profile, at least the deformation tools, and possibly also the setting of the means for determining the width or the thickness of the glass ribbon, must be changed.
So that the system can be operated economically despite many changes in the forming machine, methods have been developed which make it possible to make the order without interrupting the operation of the furnace, but these require a brief interruption of the glass stream flowing out of the furnace. However, these interruptions already create sensitive disturbances in the interrupted glass flow, such as edge crystallization, temperature differences in the glass flow and vortex formation.
In furnaces from which several glass streams are withdrawn at the same time, the interruptions in one glass stream also disrupt the even outflow of the other glass streams, and the reopening of the closure of one glass stream also has a disadvantageous effect on the continuity of the other glass streams. The present invention aims to remedy the disadvantages mentioned.
In the method according to the invention, this is used for processing a glass furnace that flows out of a glass furnace and for removing or inserting tools for forming the glass ribbon;
without interrupting the outflowing glass flow, this enables the flow or partial flow flowing out of the furnace, the deformation of which is to be ended or started by molding tools, after passing through a pair of receiving rollers; which forms it into a rectangular band, is cooled so far that it is the of:
a support body for molding tools can bridge self-supporting distance taken, whereupon the support body, which carries molding tools on one side and support rollers for the glass ribbon for flat glass production on a side at an angle thereto, is lowered, tilted by the said angle and raised again, and that .the cooling of the glass ribbon is switched off again.
To carry out the method, the invention proposes a device which is characterized by a support body, which on one side un tere molds for the glass ribbon; and on a side standing at an angle to it carries transport rollers, which support body can be lowered, tilted and raised by said angle, so that either the molds or
the transport rollers can be brought into contact with the glass ribbon.
The invention thus gives even small businesses the opportunity to train and operate their production facilities in such a way that they can produce flat glass and numerous different structural glass profiles economically.
On the accompanying drawing, exemplary embodiments of the device for carrying out the method according to the invention are schematically illustrated. Look at this. Drawing, the device and also, for example, Ausfüh approximately forms of the method itself are explained below.
The figures show: FIG. 1 means for regulating and dividing the glass flow flowing out of a glass furnace, FIG. 2 a vertical central section to FIG. 1, FIG. 3 a horizontal section at the level of the glass mirror to FIG. 1, FIG. 4 a vertical section of FIG Outlet nozzle of the oven and the take-up rollers, FIG. 5 is a plan view of FIG. 4,
Fig. 6 is a view of the device with the processing means in the position for forming the glass ribbon to form profiled components, Fig. 7 is a view of the device with the processing means with tools lifted from the tape and with a cooled, the resulting gap self-supporting spanning tape, and FIG. 8 is a view of the device with the processing means in, the position for the production of flat glass.
The closing and dividing device for the glass flow shown in FIGS. 1-3 is arranged at the outlet opening of a glass melting furnace. In the middle of the outlet opening a closing plate 13 is provided which carries a wedge-shaped glass flow divider 14 directed towards the furnace. The two openings to the left and right of the glass flow divider can be closed off by plates 5 and 6. These plates 5, 6, 13 are made of refractory material.
The plate 13 with the glass flow divider 14 is pivotably suspended by means of support arms on a support plate 9; its foot surface is shaped like a cylinder with the radius R (Fig. 2).
To raise and lower the locking plates 5 and 6 and the support plate 9, rack and pinion gears 10, 11 and 12 are provided which can be operated separately. When lifting and lowering, the plates 5 and 6 run in guide rails 1, 2, respectively. 3, 4, the support plate 9 in guide rails 7, B.
With the help of the plates 5, 6 and 13, the furnace outlet can be completely closed. When the side outlets 5 and 6 are open, two glass streams flow out of the furnace, which can be shaped into the same or different products in parallel machines. By lowering the plates 5 and 6, the height of the outlet opening for the glass flow can be regulated. The plate 13 with the glass flow divider 14 can also be lifted off so that a glass flow can be taken from the furnace over the entire width of the furnace outlet.
For this purpose, the parts 13, 14 are pivoted out of the furnace mouth about the suspension axis of their support arms into the position indicated by dotted lines in FIG. 2, and then lifted by means of the drive 11.
The glass streams flow over a base plate 16 to the pair of pick-up rollers 17, 18 (FIG. 4), where they are laterally bounded by curb stones 15. Stratification of layers at the edges of the glass flow can occur along the sliding surfaces of the curbs as a result of stronger cooling. These stratification impair the quality of the products and also inhibit the regulation of the width of the glass flow by moving the curbs. The usual heating of the curbs before they are inserted does not correct this deficiency in many cases because their heat dissipation is too great.
To eliminate these deficiencies, the edge stones 15, which extend in a wedge shape into the roller gap, are provided on their upper side with a circular segment-shaped recess 21, over which a gas burner 19 is arranged. The flame 20 is deflected by the circular design of the groove to both sides and sweeps all of its surfaces.
If a glass stream flows on each side of the edge stone 15, the recess 21 is arranged in its central plane, otherwise the recess is expediently arranged closer to the glass contact surface, as shown in FIG.
Figs. 6, 7 and 8 schematically show the entire device, only main parts being shown. From the outlet opening 22 of the indicated melting furnace, a glass stream flows over the bottom plate 25 to the receiving rollers 24, the gap width and speed of which can be regulated. 23 represents the closing means for the furnace outlet. The rolled glass ribbon 35 is fixed by fixed, z. B. water-cooled transport rollers 26 forwarded.
With 27 means for introducing a wire reinforcement into the glass ribbon are indicated, which is designed to be removable.
A height-adjustable wind tunnel 28 is arranged above the glass ribbon and there are ascending nozzles 29 with narrow, gap-shaped outflow openings between individual transport rollers 26.
From the rollers 24, the glass ribbon 35 for the production of flat glass can be fed to a cooling and relaxation furnace without further shaping. The production of components, which can be profiled very differently, from the formba Ren glass ribbon takes place under the action of special molding tools.
The lower mold tools 30 and their drive and cooling devices are easily interchangeable on a support body 32 provided with a Monta plate 33, which can be raised and lowered hydraulically and tilted about the axis M in the lowered state, so that the support body arranged transport rollers for the glass ribbon come to rest on top. About the support body 32, also liftable and easily replaceable, upper molds 30a are arranged. Subsequent to the molding device, transport rollers 34 are provided, which pass the glass products on to a cooling and relaxation furnace, not shown.
If, without interrupting the glass outflow from the furnace, the production of a product is to be switched to the production of a differently shaped product, cooling air is blown through the duct 28 and the nozzles 29 against the glass ribbon from above and below: , and this so abge cools that it can bridge the distance between the transport rollers 26 and 34 self-supporting, and the molds 30 and 30a are lowered, respectively. lifted off (Fig. 7). The lowered support body 32 is tilted by 90 in the direction of the arrow indicated in Fig. 7, the transport rollers 31 come to rest up.
The support body 32 is then raised again to such an extent that the rollers 31 can take over the support of the glass ribbon from the rollers 26 to the rollers 34, and the flow of cooling air is switched off; the machine is now. Flat glass (Fig. 8). In the tilted position, the support body 32 is accessible for changing the molding tools. If the upper and lower molds required for the manufacture of the new product are used, and the production of flat glass is to be ended, the cooling air flows are switched on again.
As soon as the glass ribbon has cooled down to such an extent that it can bridge the resulting gap in a self-supporting manner, the support body 32 is lowered, tilted back and raised again. After the cooling air has been switched off again, the molds can be brought into engagement with the soft glass ribbon and production of the new product can begin.
