Plant for the treatment of water with ozone The invention relates to a plant for the treatment of water with ozone. Known systems of this type, working with or without excess pressure, are mainly built with the intention of causing the best possible absorption from the small amount of ozone contained in the introduced ozone-gas mixture. The development actually went towards building ever more complicated and expensive systems that required careful monitoring, although the ozone content of the gas was often only used with a very low degree of efficiency.
The object is to create a simple, cheap and effective system for treating water with ozone, with a more complete absorption it should be enough. The system consists in a manner known per se of a closed boiler with a water inlet and gas outlet in the upper part of the boiler, a water outlet in its bottom and a gas inlet which supplies the ozone gas and is arranged in the lower region of the boiler.
According to the invention, a control valve arranged in the gas outlet can be throttled or closed by a float at a certain water level in the boiler, and at least one atomizer nozzle for water is arranged in the space above the float-controlled water level.
When using this system, it is possible to build up an overpressure within the boiler if the water drainage is regulated accordingly. The upper limit for such a pressure is determined solely by the pressure of the press water supplied. The gas mixture rises through the water column and is collected in the upper area of the boiler, where almost all of the residual ozone is washed out of the mixture by the water jet flowing in.
The attached drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment in a vertical section through the system according to the invention.
The boiler 1 consists of a closed cylindrical body, at the bottom of which a water outlet 3 provided with a controllable nozzle 2 is arranged. A gas inlet pipe 4, which is connected to an ozonizer via a pipe 5, is introduced into the lower area of the boiler from the outside. Several such tubes 4 can be provided, which expediently consist of a ceramic filter which is capable of finely distributing the inflowing gas. A spray nozzle 6 is verbun with a pipe socket 7 introduced centrally through the upper wall of the boiler.
The outer end of this pipe socket 7 is connected to a water line 9 provided with a control valve 8: the nozzle 6 sprays the water over most of the cross-sectional area of the boiler. Several spray nozzles with different orientations can be inserted through the ceiling if necessary.
A tube 10 is arranged for the outlet of the non-absorbed gas in the upper region of the cylindrical vessel. Inside the boiler, this tube 10 is connected to a control valve 11 controlled by a float 12. In the embodiment, this control valve consists of a cone-shaped valve seat 13 arranged; Valve cone 14. This valve cone is connected to the float 12 via an articulated lever 15. The lever 15 is rotatably mounted on a hori zontal pivot pin 16 arranged in the valve housing.
As can be seen from the drawing, the valve cone first throttles the outflow of gas in order to then completely stop it when the float has reached a certain height. A verti cal tube 17 connected to the valve 11 is bent a little downward just below the ceiling of the boiler. The purpose of this arrangement is to prevent water droplets from entering the gas outlet tube 10. A pressure gauge 18 can be arranged in the ceiling of the boiler to display the overpressure.
The system described works as follows: When the method is started, the nozzle 2 is closed, while the control valve 8 arranged in the water line 9 is open; As soon as the water level has risen above the gas inlet pipe 4, a control valve 19 arranged in the line 5 coming from an ozonizer is opened, so that the ozone gas mixture rises through the water column.
When the water level has reached a predetermined height, the gas outlet valve 11 is closed via the float 12. In this way, the gas not washed out during passage through the water column is collected in the space above the water surface, so that an overpressure that can be read off via the pressure gauge 18 is created in the boiler. The drain valve 2 is now opened and, due to the drop in the water level, the shimmer-controlled gas outlet valve 11 opens.
By appropriately setting the dispensing valve 2, a middle position of the water level can be achieved in which the float-controlled gas outlet valve is throttled just enough that an almost constant overpressure can be maintained. After that, the system works continuously practically without monitoring.
The gas collected in the upper free space is washed out by the fresh water jet entering through the nozzle 6. The overpressure is preferably kept at a value of about 1 atm. The washing out under such a high overpressure causes an almost complete absorption of the ozone, so that only small amounts of it are discharged through the outlet 10 together with the residual gas. More than 90% of the amount of ozone introduced is e.g. absorbed by the water.
