Description

Lampshade The object of the present invention is a lampshade for a floor lamp, wall lamp, bedside or table lamp, comprising a frame and a translucent veil, stretched over this frame.

Known lampshades of this kind are made in one piece, in the sense that the veil is fixed to the frame, by sewing, by a cord or by gluing.

Among these known lampshades, there are those in which the veil bears a decorative motif, for example a painting on parchment.

The object of the invention is to create a lampshade in which the decorative pattern of the veil can be changed easily and inexpensively.

In the lampshade according to the invention, the veil, formed by an opal photograph, simply rests against the frame.

An embodiment of the shade according to the invention is shown by way of example in the accompanying drawing. Fig. 1 is a perspective view with a part cut away, and FIG. 2, a partial axial section.

The embodiment shown in the drawing is a lampshade mounted on a bedside lamp. The latter comprises a domed triangular base 1, intended to rest on its three vertices. A metal strip 2 is attached to the base 1 and acts as a support for the shade 3 and a bulb 4. For this purpose, the strip 2 is attached to a ring 5, at two diametrically opposed points thereof. . The ring 5, oval in shape, constitutes the lower part of a frame of the lampshade 3.

The strip 2 also forms an arm which supports the base 6 of the hen 4. The frame of the shade 3 comprises a second upper ring 7, similar to the ring 5, to which it is connected by amounts 8.

The veil of the shade 3, which has the shape of a cylindrical surface, consists of a rectangular opal photograph 9, which is rolled up so that two of its opposite edges are juxtaposed. These two opposite edges are further glued to each other, for example using a tape, so that the photograph forms a cylindrical surface. The perimeter of this surface is equal to that of the entrance to rings 5 and 7 of the frame of the lampshade.

The height of this surface is in addition slightly less than the distance between the end edges of the rings 5 and 7. so that the free edges of the opal photograph are camouflaged inside said rings.

To mount the veil formed by the photograph 9 on the frame of the lampshade 3, it suffices to slide this photograph inside the rings 5 -and 7, into the position shown in the drawing.

To ensure the attachment of this veil to the frame of the lampshade, the arm 2 supporting the latter comprises a part 2a which forms a clamp applying the lower edge of the photograph 9 against the ring 5 at a point. The clamp formed by this part 2a is more than sufficient to retain the veil of the shade in place on the frame of the latter.

Without resorting to any other means of fixing, the veil of the lampshade seems stretched over the frame of the latter, thanks, on the one hand, to the mutual dimensions of photograph 9 and .of the frame of the lamp. lampshade, and, on the other hand, to the stability of the opal photograph itself, the support of which consists of a sheet of relatively thick translucent material. This material is moreover sufficiently resistant to high temperatures, so that its shape is not altered by thermal radiation from the bulb 4, even if the latter remains lit for several consecutive hours.

The lampshade described allows easy replacement of its veil, that is to say, opal photography. The owner of this lampshade can thus change the decorative pattern at will. Instead of presenting an oval shape, the lampshade could also be circular.

The opal photograph constituting the veil of this lampshade could also be rolled up, not according to a cylindrical surface, but according to a conical surface. Finally, the opal photograph could also be mounted on a shade frame which would not be made up only of small section elements, but by more or less wide surfaces.
