Description

Fig. 2 , 3 und 5 im Schaubild, Fig. 4 im Schnitt.

Closing and tensioning device for the outer longitudinal chain of anti-skid chains The invention relates to a closing and tensioning device for the outer longitudinal chain of anti-skid chains.

In known proposals for closing and tensioning the outer longitudinal chain of anti-skid chains, the initially untensioned longitudinal chain is always closed by means of hooks, eyes or the like attached to it and then tensioned by special devices in order to achieve a tight fit of the entire anti-skid chain.

An embodiment of this type, in which the devices for tensioning and closing are built into the longitudinal chain, has disks with a central hole for a square key or the like for tensioning, and semicircular recesses eccentric to the hole around which the disks are rotated - mings with notches at the ends of the semicircles for the links of the longitudinal chain suspended in them. This device is probably simple and robust, but apart from its operation, which is often difficult due to rust and dirt, the achievable change in length is limited.

In addition, all disks open even if the anti-skid chain is slightly loosened, as they only maintain their position when the tension is adequate.

To remedy this disadvantage, it was proposed to arrange tensioning elements within the ring formed by the hook and eye to be closed longitudinal chain, which, however, was not included in the tensioned system due to additional Ge, due to hanging up during assembly or after assembly and therefore loosening parts make handling and use of the anti-skid chain more difficult.

It is therefore the task to be solved to create a locking and tensioning device for anti-skid chains which is easy to operate and which reliably keeps the attached chain tensioned.

This is achieved by the invention in that when the anti-skid chain is in place, a steel wire rope runs parallel to the outer longitudinal chain and through equally spaced intermediate links to tension the anti-skid chain, both ends of which are attached to them by hooks that do not slide through the intermediate links can, are hung in the opposite ends of the outer longitudinal chain. With the chain tensioned, all parts are evenly under the pull of the steel cord running around it.

In addition, because the rope is also used to close the longitudinal chain, the handling of the anti-skid chain during assembly and disassembly is significantly simplified.

The invention is described in detail below with reference to the figures of the drawing in an exemplary embodiment, without it being restricted to this.

1 shows a tire with an anti-skid chain in the closed and tensioned state and FIGS. 2 to 5 illustrate details of the invention. FIGS. 2, 3 and 5 in a diagram, FIG. 4 in section.

From Fig. 3 it can be seen how the two ends of the rope 3 with the hooks 4 attached to them engage in the opposite end of the outer longitudinal chain 1. The holes in the intermediate links 2 are so small that the hooks 4 cannot slide through.

The tensioning coil 7 in FIG. 2 can advantageously be used to tension the steel cable 3. It is hooked into the outer longitudinal chain 1 by means of the double hook 9 and can, for. B. by bending the hooks 9, also remain permanently attached there. The lever 8 is used to roll up the rope 1 and, when the anti-skid chain is sufficiently tensioned, its end 10 is fixed in the longitudinal chain 1.

From FIGS. 1 and 2 it can also be seen that the intermediate links 2 leading the rope 3 engage in the same links of the longitudinal chain 1 in which the transverse chains 5 of the anti-skid chain are suspended. This means that the rope 3 directly tensions the transverse chains 5 in the radial direction, while the longitudinal chain 1 connecting the transverse chains in the circumferential direction, the ends of which are connected to those of the rope 3, is also tensioned and ensures that the transverse chains 5 are equally spaced .

4 and 5 show the tension reel 7 in section and seen from the tire. The coil core 11 is drilled through for the implementation of the rope 3 and sits rotatably on the double hook 9, while the lever 8 is firmly connected to it at its other end.

After the anti-skid chain has been placed on the tire, the hooks 4 of the rope 3 are first hooked into the end links of the outer longitudinal chain 1, which closes it. The spool 7 is then pulled up with the lever 8 up to the desired rope or chain tension. In contrast to all known designs, this clamping process can be carried out simply and easily. Except when hanging the lever end 10 in the chain 1, the tensioning device can be operated with one hand. But even hooking the lever 8 into the chain 1 can be carried out einhän dig with some skill.

In addition to this possibility of simple and quick operation, the invention is characterized by low weight, low volume and the absence of any complicated, hanging or loosening parts. Since the lengthways chain and the tensioning rope are approximately the same length, the chain cannot become tangled even when it is not in use.

There are manifold modifications in the execution of the parts described in detail possible. For example, different materials can be used and the tensioning coil can show variations in its design.
