Torsional vibrator for an electrically maintained oscillator, for a timepiece The present invention relates to a torsion vibrator for an electrically maintained oscillator, for a timepiece.
Electrically maintained oscillators are already known, in particular constant frequency current generators, in. which of the vibrating member consists of one or more torsion lamies. Also known are such vibrators constituted by a flat blade, rigidly fixed by its two ends to a rigid support.
The main problem that arises when using torsion vibrators in. oscillator files consists in seeking a shape of torsion blade which, for a given torsion torque, offers as strong a resistance as possible to bending stresses. If this flexural strength. is relatively low compared to the torque,
parasitic bending vibrations are established at the same time as the vibration. principle based on a phenomenon of blade twisting.
The torsion vibrator for an electrically maintained oscillator, for a timepiece,
according to the present invention comprises at least one torsion blade rigidly fixed by its ends to a rigid support and is characterized in that at least one middle portion of the strip is twisted so as to be situated in a plane forming an angle with that of the two extreme parts.
The plane of said middle portion can preferably be at least approximately perpendicular to that of the two ends, which gives a strong resistance to bending in two perpendicular planes and, therefore practically in any direction, but one could also provide two parallel blades with a twisted middle part,
one dextrorsumz, the other senestrorsum at 450 - for example, or even a single blade presenting a middle portion divided into two twisted portions, one dextrorsum and the other senestrorsum.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, several embodiments of the vibrator object of the invention. Fig. 1 is a plan view of a first embodiment provided with a device for maintaining the oscillations.
Fig. 2 is a side view partially in section of this embodiment with a transistorized circuit for maintaining the oscillations.
Figs. 3 and 4 are plan and side views of another embodiment, and FIGS. 5 and 6 are plan and side views of a third embodiment.
The vibrator shown: in fig. 1 and 2 comprises a rigid support 1 in the form of a stirrup. At the end of its two branches is fixed, for example riveted or welded, a flat blade 2 whose end parts 2a are arranged in a plane parallel to that of the support 1 and whose middle portion 2b is twisted at 90 and is consequently disposed in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the two end sections 2a and containing the axis of oscillation of the latter. The length of the
middle portion 2b is approximately equal to half of the total active length of the blade.
At the center of the median portion 2b of the blade is fixed, for example welded, an oscillating arm 3 carrying on the one hand an electromagnetic device for maintaining the oscillations 4 and, on the other hand, a counterweight 5.
The device 4 comprises a U-shaped ferromagnetic support 6 provided with two magnets 7 glued inside its branches; it cooperates in a known manner with a humbucker 8, comprising a signal coil and a driving coil, wound on a fixed carcass

(not shown) and connected to a transistorized circuit Tr.
In the vibrator of fig. 3 and 4, two parallel flat blades 12 each have two end parts 12a located in the same plane as the support 11 in which they are cut,
and a middle portion 12b twisted at 900 and therefore situated in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the support 11 and containing the axis of oscillation of the respective blade. The two blades 12 are offset with respect to each other in the direction of the length.
The vibrator in fig. 5 and 6 is also formed of a flat support 21 in which two parallel oscillating blades 22 are cut. These two blades also each have two end portions 22a located in the same plane as their common support 21 and by which they are attached to this support,
and a middle portion 22b twisted at 900 and therefore situated in a plane perpendicular to the plane of the support 21 and containing the axis of oscillation of the respective blade.
