Description

Connecting and branching sleeve for telecommunication cables The invention relates to a connecting and from branching socket for telecommunication cables, which is preferably a settable for connecting telecommunication cables with plastic jackets and for transitions from plastic jackets to metal jackets. The transversely split connection and branch sleeve can also be used to connect telecommunication cables with metal sheaths to one another and in telecommunication networks monitored by compressed air.

The opening of the socket body is nondestructive and possible in a short time by loosening several bolt screws.

A large number of transversely and longitudinally divided connection, branch and transition sleeves are known in which a fixed connection between the sleeve and the sheath of the telecommunication cable is made by soldering or welding. These sleeves are usually only applicable for a specific purpose.

Due to the ongoing consolidation of the telecommunications networks, it often happens that further cables have to be spliced into the branch joints. In practice, sockets that can be opened easily and without great effort and closed again after completion of the installation work have therefore become increasingly popular.

With these longitudinally or transversely split sleeves, the easily detachable and moisture-proof seal between the cable sheath and sleeve body is achieved by using the stuffing box principle. In a known longitudinally split sleeve construction, the stuffing box seal is achieved by kneading plastic sealing compound into the space between the circular press disks,

By tightening the bolts between the press washers, the sealing compound is pressed in the radial direction both against the jacket of the Fermneldekabel and against the tubular sleeve body due to the axial pressure. Each press disk consists of an outer undivided and an inner two or more divided disk made of brass, aluminum, steel or a suitable plastic material. The outer undivided disc has incisions on the edge according to the number of cables to be connected in the sleeve, which merge into semicircles at the end.

The width of the incision in the outer panes is so dimensioned that the largest cable to be connected in the sleeve can be inserted into the incision. In the neren disc, the number of parts is determined by the number of cables to be introduced into or out of the sleeve, so that, for. B. with two cables the disc consists of two mirror-inverted halves and with three cables of three sectors with an angle of 10. The dividing line always runs through the center points of the inlet or outlet openings for the cables contained in the assembled disc. In each disc part, therefore, semicircular openings are included, which are provided with breakable Stu fen for better adaptation to the respective diameter of the cable jacket.

After the cable or cables are seated in the inlet or outlet openings of the outer and inner discs during the sleeve assembly, the individual parts of the inner disc are screwed together with the undivided outer disc to form press discs. For this purpose, holes are provided in the discs. The half-shells of the longitudinally split sleeve body are soldered together on both sides so that a pipe is created. The press disks also contain several holes or threaded bores for receiving the stud bolts.

After the bolts have been tightened, the soldered seams at the stuffing box sealing points are additionally secured with wire coils, clamping rings or screw straps.

There are also transversely divided connection and branch sleeves according to the stuffing box principle known, the sleeve body consists of a seamless metal or plastic pipe. The pressing disks are provided with round openings in the middle, the diameter of which is always larger than the maximum diameter of the cables to be introduced or removed.

The tolerance between the outside diameter of the telecommunication cable and the round opening in the press washer is compensated for by applying a cylindrical epoxy resin body to the jacket of the telecommunication cable. An additionally required sealing between the sleeve body and the hardened epoxy resin part is achieved by filling the space between the press plates with an annular rubber mi.

However, transversely divided connection and branch sleeves are also known according to: the stuffing box principle, in which the circular press washers do not contain a pre-machined opening, so that they have to be drilled out accordingly before assembly on the construction site.

Furthermore, so-called pot sleeves with a gland seal on one side are also known.

The known longitudinally or transversely divided connecting, branching and transition sleeves have a number of disadvantages. The lengthways split sleeves require extensive soldering work on the construction site, and the functional reliability of the sleeves largely depends on their quality execution. Additional protection against possible radial overpressure must also be provided for the soldered seams at the stuffing box sealing points.

It is also disadvantageous that in these known sleeves the press disks required for each sealing point are composed of two disks, so that a total of 8 disks are required for each sleeve. These press disks therefore require a lot of effort both in production and in assembly. Despite the break-out steps in the press washers, a light and good seal between the sleeve body and the sheath of the telecommunication cable can only be achieved if:

a large assortment of different press washers is produced and the fitter can vary accordingly on the construction site. In this case, however, is when making the sleeves. profitable manufacturing is called into question.

It is also particularly disadvantageous that in these known longitudinally split sleeves the stuffing box seals are not held laterally, so that in telecommunication cable systems monitored by compressed air these can be pushed out of the sleeve body by the internal overpressure. A possibility for pouring is also not given with these sleeves.

Since the sealing compound is only pressed in the radial direction against the sleeve body and cable sheath due to the design of the press disks, the sealing effect is only limited to the space between the press disks.

In the known transversely divided sleeves with tubular sleeve bodies, in which the seal is made by casting resin and ring-shaped rubber, the adhesion of the casting resin to the plastic jacket, especially if it is made of polyethylene, is insufficient.

In addition, working with cast resin is cumbersome due to the long curing times on the construction site and requires an additional work step. If, on the other hand, press disks are used without a pre-machined breakthrough, an appropriate energy source must be available on site to drill them open. Additional tools are also required.

With regard to the lateral mounting of the stuffing box seal, the pouring out of the socket body and the sealing effect, the disadvantages already mentioned above apply. The known cup sleeves have the disadvantage that their geometric dimensions must be very large due to the allowable bending radius of the respective cable.

The purpose of the invention is to reduce the number of individual parts of the sleeve to a minimum and to simplify assembly, so that an increase in profitability is guaranteed.

The invention is based on the object of improving the sealing effect for the insertion or execution of one or more cables by appropriately designing the press washers and the sleeve body, securing the gland seal on the side, creating the prerequisites for casting anise, the sleeve body and using To enable sleeve for compressed air monitoring.

According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the expandable wall or press disk is delimited in the shape of a clover leaf and provided with a circular opening in the center. At the edge of the press

Disk igt both the surface facing the cable and part of the surface facing the sleeve body is conical, so that the wall at the edge of the press disk runs in a wedge shape in the direction of the sealing material. The press washers are secured on the circumference of the ends of the socket body at regular intervals by grooved pins.

The pressing disks are preferably designed in such a way that a surface facing the cable is inclined by more than 10 to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve body.

A part of the surface facing the sleeve body on the edge of the press disk expediently runs at an angle of approximately 45. In a preferred embodiment, the sleeve body contains one or more openings which are arranged one behind the other parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve body and are preferably closed by disks or sealable sockets.

The mounted sleeve can expediently be provided with additional corrosion protection in the form of a wrapping. be provided with bituminous tapes.

The connecting and branching sleeve according to the invention has the following advantages: 1. Only a small number of individual parts are required to manufacture the sleeve, so that the cost of manufacturing the individual parts is low.

  2. Due to the high variability, the number of socket types required is low.

  3. The sleeve can be poured and can be used for monitoring the compressed air of the telecommunication cables. 4. Few tools are required for assembly.

The invention will be explained in more detail below using a Ausfüh approximately example. In the accompanying drawings: Fig. 1 shows the top view of a socket, partially cut, Fig. 2 shows the top view of a press disk, Fig. 3 shows the side view of the press disk according to Fig. 2 in section, Fig. 4 shows an assembled socket in Cut.

The connecting and branching sleeve consists essentially of a sleeve body 7, the press washers 1, cylinder screws 9 and grooved pins B. The sleeve body 7 is made from a metal pipe, e.g. B. galvanized steel pipe. The socket body 7 is expediently provided with the openings 10 and the bores for receiving the grooved pins 8 before galvanizing.

As a result, the sleeve body 7 receives reliable corrosion protection. The press disk 1 has a circular opening 3 in the center. The break-out wall 2 of the press disk 1 is marked in the shape of a clover leaf. The circular opening 3 of the press washer 1 allows a cable 13 to be introduced without significant reworking.

The small thickness of the break-out wall 2 allows an enlargement of the circular opening 3 or press washer 1 without considerable effort, so that a cable 13 with a larger diameter can also be inserted into the sleeve body 7.

When two or three cables 14 are brought in or out, the break-out wall 2 of the press disk 1 is broken out using pliers as required and any small burrs are removed with a file. The cloverleaf shape of the break-out wall 2 is chosen so that the continuation of the indicated circles overlap slightly within the circular opening 3.

Since the diameter tolerances of the cables are taken into account. In addition, the sealing surfaces to be filled with plastic or elastic sealing materials 6 on the press disks 1 are reduced. Outside the breakable wall 2, through holes or threaded bores for receiving the cylinder screws 9 are provided in the press disk 1. The press disks 1 are made of metal, e.g. B. made of a corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy.

As a sealing material 6 bands made of vulcanized rubber or polyisobutylene have proven to be good in practice. When tapes are used, above all the pressing out of the sealing material 6 at the locations of the press disks 1 to be sealed is avoided. The assembly of the transversely divided connection and branch sleeve is carried out in a known manner.

By. On the press disk 1 ibefindliche, the cables 13; 14 facing surface 4 and the sleeve body 7 facing surface 5 when pressing together the sealing material 6, the effectiveness of the sealing of the sleeve body 7 and the cable 13; 14 increased.

The compressed sealing material 6 tends to penetrate into the gap between the sleeve body 7 and the pressing disk 1 on the surface 5 of the press washer 1 facing the sleeve body 7, whereby the sealing surface is enlarged.

So that the gland seals are not pushed out of the socket body 7 in the case of telecommunication cables monitored by compressed air, they are secured by driving in grooved pins B.

The openings 10 located in the sleeve body 7 enable the sleeve to be poured with potting compound for the purpose of longitudinally sealing the cables 13; 14. In addition, on the openings 10 sealable nozzles 12 for the compressed air monitoring of the cables 13; 14 put on. Otherwise, the openings 10 in the sleeve body 7 by discs 11, for. B. made of lead, closed.

The assembled connecting and branching sleeve is wrapped with bituminous tapes for the purpose of additional corrosion protection.
