Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>
    Schaltungsanordnung zur elektronischen Regelung der Drehzahl einer Antriebsvorrichtung Die Erfindung betrifft eine Schaltungsanordnung zur elektronischen Regelung der Drehzahl einer Antriebs- vorrichtung auf einen vorbestimmten Sollwert. Unter Antriebsvorrichtung sind dabei ein Motor oder zwischen Motor und angetriebenen Teil liegende Verbindungsteile zu verstehen.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

    Circuit arrangement for electronically regulating the speed of a drive device The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for electronically regulating the speed of a drive device to a predetermined setpoint value. A drive device is to be understood as a motor or connecting parts located between the motor and the driven part.

  Particularly in the case of magnetic storage devices, very high demands are placed on the constant speed. The centrifugal contact regulators often used for this purpose do not meet the accuracy requirements and are also inconsistent and, because of the contacts, prone to failure. The additional use of reinforcing components and the high-frequency control do not eliminate the fundamental disadvantages.

   To avoid these disadvantages, fully electronic circuits for speed control are also known, in which a frequency proportional to the speed is taken from the motor to be controlled, from which a variable is derived by means of discriminator or filter arrangements, which in turn influences the operating variables. The deviation from the setpoint required with these circuits to achieve a sufficient controlled variable and thus the control accuracy depends on the complexity of the circuit used. In addition, despite good temporal constancy, it is difficult to maintain the absolute value of the required speed because the speed-determining switching elements always have tolerances.

   The requirement, which is common in practice, to force two or more different devices to exactly the same speed, cannot therefore be met with this method.

  In order to be able to adhere to a given speed exactly, a frequency or phase comparison circuit between a given frequency (synchronous frequency) fs, which determines the speed and a frequency (motor frequency) fm derived from the motor speed, is known. Both frequencies determine the speed of each synchronous motor. The angular position between the two axes is then proportional to the phase angle between fs and fm. With the help of a potentiometer, a variable capacitor or other encoder, a variable can be derived from this angular position that counteracts a change in the phase angle and thus brings about the synchronism between fs and fm.

   It can already be seen from the principle that such an arrangement requires a great deal of effort.

  It stands to reason that the z. B. to use circuits known from television technology for phase or frequency comparison in order to evaluate this phase angle purely electronically. Circuits suitable for this, however, only provide relatively small output quantities, which requires considerable post-amplification. In addition to the phase angle between fs and fm, the controlled variable is also influenced by other factors, e.g. B. the amplitude of the pulses derived from fs and fm influenced. The necessary reinforcement also adversely affects the stability.

  Circuit arrangements are also known in which the phases of pulses or other waveforms for speed control are compared. However, the phase comparison circuit only begins to work when the two frequencies to be compared differ only slightly from one another. If the frequency difference between the two frequencies to be compared is large, their relative phase position changes continuously. At the output of the phase comparison circuit there is then a voltage which consists of two components: 1. A DC component. It is independent of the frequency ratio or the phase position of the voltages to be compared and only depends on the structure of the circuit.

  2. an alternating component whose frequency is equal to the difference between the frequencies of the two to be compared-

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 the tension is. The amplitude also only depends on the structure of the circuit.

  Since the motor connected to the phase comparison circuit has a low-pass character, it only responds to the first-mentioned direct component (which can also be zero). He thus does not receive a signal which acts in the direction of reducing the difference between the synchronous and motor frequencies to be compared.

  In another known circuit arrangement, by differentiating the voltage at the beginning of the phase comparison circuit, a further voltage is generated which is added to the output voltage of the phase comparison circuit and then fed to the motor. It can thus be achieved that the motor is perfectly synchronized with the synchronous source even with large frequency differences.

  The disadvantages of this arrangement are as follows: The output voltage of each phase comparison switching device consists primarily of pulses. However, the mean value of the output voltage should be differentiated. The output voltage must first be screened and then differentiated. If the synchronous frequency is not very high, there is a large, interfering alternating component at the output of the differentiation element. This signal must then also be amplified separately.

  Another known circuit uses a special generator circuit for the synchronous frequency in conjunction with a bistable multivibrator for phase comparison. This circuit only works as long as the motor used does not overshoot when the synchronous speed is reached. If the motor overshoots, a further distance from the setpoint cannot be ruled out. Another disadvantage is that the special generator cannot be synchronized at will due to an external frequency.

   Counting circuits with two inputs have also already been used, which count the difference between target and actual pulses only up to their maximum value forwards and up to their minimum value backwards, the target pulses being supplied directly or via multiplier or divider stages from a synchronous generator or another drive and the actual pulses come from the drive to be controlled in the same way. A digital-to-analog converter is used to evaluate the counter result.

   The power supplied to the drive via this becomes greater and greater with increasing counter reading, i.e. greater difference between the setpoint and actual value.

  This arrangement is associated with the following disadvantages: 1. Pulses can occur simultaneously at the two inputs of the counter within the control range. There is the possibility of doing this k times within the control range if k is the counting capacity. The simultaneous appearance of pulses on the two input lines can lead to incorrect results.

   In order to avoid this, the aim is either to aim for pulses of exactly the same size (this requires further effort and also removes the advantage of extensive independence in the proper functioning of the digital regulation of the amplitude of the control pulses) or an anti-coincidence circuit is used.

   On the one hand, this increases the effort and, on the other hand, there is no clear relationship between the output voltage of the digital-to-analog converter and the phase difference of the input pulses in the area in which the anticoincidence circuit works. This effect can only be mitigated in its effects by increasing the counting capacity. This increases the effort for both the counter and the digital-to-analog converter.

  2. The greater the counting capacity, the greater the temporary control deviation (phase difference) can be, although the controller is still in its control range. The possible stationary deviation of the phases of the two pulse trains, e.g. B. the load on the motor also increases with a larger counting capacity. It is 2z. k, if k means the counting capacity again.

  The invention is based on the object of avoiding the disadvantages mentioned and of creating a circuit arrangement with little effort and high control accuracy that utilizes all the advantages of digital technology without being restricted by analog elements or error compensations.

  This object is achieved with a circuit arrangement which also contains a counting circuit with two inputs, which only counts up to its maximum value and down to its minimum value, on the two input lines of which there are pulses derived from the nominal value and the current speed and which are characterized by this is that the drive device to be controlled is connected to the output of a counting stage which corresponds to a number selected in the counting range and through which the power supply is switched on as long as this number is undershot and the power supply is blocked as soon as this number is exceeded.

  Unless special requirements are placed on making up for the loss of revolutions due to brief overloads, it is advantageous not only because of the complexity but also for the function if the counting circuit has only a low counting capacity.

  The counting circuit advantageously consists of bistable multivibrators and gate circuits in suitable interconnections known per se. Such counting circuits with two bistable multivibrators are z. B. common for computing circuits. An example with three bistable multivibrators will be described in more detail as an exemplary embodiment. With high demands on the uniformity of the drive and low rotating masses, it is advantageous to arrange filter circuits between the output of the counting stage and the drive device to be controlled. In the case of high powers, amplifier elements can be connected in between.

  The circuit is able to process any differences between motor frequency fm and synchronous frequency fs. The zero point constancy has no effect because it is an integral controller. The effort is low, especially when conventional transistorized logic modules are used, which are also used for other purposes, e.g. B. for calculating machines, are produced in large quantities.

  When using a quartz generator with a frequency divider to generate the synchronous frequency fs, a high level of control constancy corresponding to its accuracy can be achieved. In principle, the controller is independent of temperature and supply voltage fluctuations.

  The invention will be explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. The associated

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 The drawing shows a block diagram of a motor control circuit that regulates any frequency differences.

  The pulses fs 'corresponding to the synchronous frequency fs and the pulses frn' corresponding to the motor frequency fm are each applied to three gates, which are e.g. B. may consist of biased diodes. Two of these gates, one from the synchronous branch and one from the motor branch, are each connected to a bistable switch that z. B. can be a transistor flip-flop circuit.

  The circuit arrangement works like a counter with two counting directions. If the motor is running too slowly, more pulses come from input fs' than from input frri to the circuit. Pulses come through gate T21 while gate T blocks. The motor receives full voltage due to the stable position of the bistable switch SZ. If the impulses outweigh the frri then the gate T21 blocks and impulses come through T22. The bistable switch S2 assumes the other stable position and the motor receives no voltage.

   The bistable switches S1 and S3 with their gates T11, T12, T31 and T32 serve as a counter that opens or blocks gates T21 or T22 depending on the direction of the counting difference.

  Are the frequencies f and f correct. at the inputs fs' and fni match, which is the case when the target speed is switched on, then the bistable switches S1 and S3 are in a bistable position so that the gates T21 and T22 are open. As a result, the motor receives a voltage from the output of the bistable switch SZ, the mean value of which corresponds to the phase difference between setpoint and actual value pulses.

  The averaging by means of a low pass is only necessary for high demands on evenness and for low rotational frequencies and light rotors. If a heavy rotor is used, a high rotational frequency is used and there are less demands on evenness, the low pass can also be omitted.

  The invention can be used not only for electrical synchronous and direct current motors, but also for asynchronous motors, with magnetic clutches and even via valve control for internal combustion engines.
