Terminal strip for cable distributors, in particular for circular distributors The invention relates to a terminal for cable distributors, in particular for circular distributors, consisting of an insulating body with inserted connection lugs in the form of strips, the head end of which lies between ribs formed on the insulating rod body and at the foot end to the outside of the Insulating body are angled towards.
Such circular distributors who used to split cables in telecommunications and signaling systems. The circular distributors are preferably used in railway systems. The connection strip can also be used in cable distributors that are intended to be used for control and regulation technology.
Depending on the number of cable loaders to be connected, several connection strips are installed in a cable distributor in the cable distributors. The connection strips are arranged in round cable distributor housings in an approximately circular manner around the cable entry, which is located in the center of the circular distributor housing.
There are connection strips known in which the connection lugs are pressed into the thermoset material. Terminal strips are also known in which the terminal lugs are only inserted into the insulating body after the pressing process.
Before being inserted into the insulating body, these connection lugs are bent at right angles at the head end, provided with a rectangular incision below the middle and the required threaded holes at the head and foot ends and then surface-finished. These pre-machined connection lugs in the form of right-angled strips have a length ratio of 4 to 1 with respect to the legs.
When completing the connection, the connection lugs are inserted into the openings provided in the insulating material body in such a way that the short head end of the connection lug lies between the ribs of the insulating material body and about half of the longer leg of the connection lug is free from the insulating material body parallel to the vertical axis of the connection strip protrudes.
To fix it with respect to the insulating body and to secure it against falling out, the tongues resulting from the rectangular incision in the connection lugs are stamped through directly below the insulating body. Below the embossing point, the foot ends of the connection lugs are also angled outwards on both sides in approximately the same length ratio as at the head end for better connection of the cable cores. The angle of the foot end to the vertical is about 30.
The connection lugs are provided with clamping screws at the foot end, while clamping screws for cross connections or test sockets are optionally arranged at the head end. The electrical connection of the parallel opposite terminal lugs is also made by connecting tabs. The fastening of the connecting straps is done using clamping screws. For this purpose, additional threaded nuts and spacers made of metal and hard paper are inserted between the head ends of the connection lugs in the insulating body.
The known terminal strips with the pressed-in terminal lugs have the disadvantage that, after the pressing process, due to the particularly high proportion of non-ferrous metal, stress cracks occur in the insulating body. These stress cracks are caused in particular by the unfavorable relationship between non-ferrous metal and thermoset molding compound.
Based on the different thermal expansion coefficients and thermal conductivity of the materials used, it can be seen that stress cracking occurs to a greater extent and causes a relatively high reject rate. It is not possible to reuse the pressed connection lugs.
A further disadvantage arises with the pressed-in connection lugs in the hammered design due to the considerable amount of work involved in making the connection lugs in accordance with the dimensions, and when the connection lugs are made from sheet metal, the additionally required threaded bushings or nuts.
It is also disadvantageous that the foot ends of the connection lugs protrude unprotected from the insulating body, whereby the creeping capacity of the electrical current is promoted due to the short distances between the connection lugs.
In the case of the terminal strips with inserted terminal lugs, the formation of stress cracks in the insulating body has been eliminated, but this construction also has a number of disadvantages. For example, the connection lugs are embossed and angled after they have been inserted into the insulating body. This cold deformation of the non-ferrous metal promotes stress corrosion cracking in the stressed areas.
As is known, the connection lugs are surface refined for the purpose of corrosion protection, z. B. nickel-plated. Due to the Biegevor courses after the surface finishing, however, cracks in the protective layer, z. B. in galvanic coating, cannot be avoided. There is therefore an additional risk of corrosion at the bending points. The attachment of the connecting straps requires additional effort for the threaded nuts inserted in the insulating body, spacer discs made of metal and hard paper, both for the production and for the assembly of this Teüe.
In addition, the ends of the terminal lugs protruding from the insulating body are also unprotected in these terminal strips, so that the resistance to leakage current between the adjacent terminal lugs is very low. This is particularly true when the connection strips are used to connect plastic-insulated cables, because in this case the foot ends of the connection lugs do not need to be protected by potting compound.
Since the insulating bodies are very sensitive to impact, it often happens in practice that ribs break off. The entire body of the insulating material often breaks. Since it is also not possible to reuse the connection lugs used, the entire damaged connection strip in the cable distributor must be replaced.
It is also disadvantageous that the length of the connection lugs is made relatively large, which makes a high material requirement for the connection lugs necessary.
The purpose of the invention is to create a terminal block in which these disadvantages are largely avoided.
The invention is based on the object of achieving the insertion and fixing of the connecting lugs in the insulating body without subsequent cold deformation by means of an appropriate design of the insulating body and the connecting lugs.
According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the insulating body contains shaft-like openings that are practically twice as long in length in the vertical direction as the foot end of the terminal lug and conically widened on one side at the top and are designed in the lower part according to a curve, that this with the. On the horizontal reference plane, enclose an angle that corresponds to the angled foot end of the connecting lug and end my three-sided opening, whereby the support for the foot end is provided with a recess.
The terminal block according to the invention has the particular advantage that either the terminal lugs of damaged terminal blocks can be reused or faulty terminal lugs in the insulating material body can be easily replaced without special tools. It happens that if the cable cores are improperly connected to the terminal lugs, the thread, e.g. B. by angled approach or over-tightening the screw is damaged.
In this case it is advantageous if the connection lug can be exchanged quickly at the installation site. By eliminating the points of attack for surface and stress corrosion cracking, the service life of the connection strips is increased. The structural design of the connection, according to the invention, also allows a more stable manufacture and assembly of the individual parts.
By increasing the creepage resistance, the safety of the connection strip is also increased and at the same time it is possible to mount plastic-insulated cables without additional potting of the foot ends of the connection lugs with potting compound.
The subject of the invention will be explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. The accompanying drawings show: FIG. 1 the top view of a connection strip, FIG. 2 the side view of the connection strip according to FIG. 1, FIG. 3 an enlarged view of the connection strip in section AA according to FIG. 1, FIG. 4 the enlarged Front view of a connection lug with a bent tongue,
5 shows an enlarged side view of the connection lug according to FIG. 4, FIG. 6 shows a connection strip in section with connection lugs according to FIGS. 4 and 5, FIG. 7 shows the enlarged cut-out of a further variant for a connection lug,
8 shows an enlarged illustration of the side view of a connection lug corresponding to the blank according to FIG. 7, FIG. 9 shows an enlarged connection strip in. Section with connection lugs according to Fig. 7 and B.
The terminal strip consists of the pressed insulating material body 1, the connection lugs, upper clamping screws 16, lower clamping screws and connecting lugs 17. The insulating body 1 contains shaft-like openings 2 which end in openings 4 delimited on three sides in the lower part. The opening 4 delimited on three sides is formed by the inclined support surface 5 and delimiting ribs 10. It is advantageous if the support surface 5 has an angle of 20 °.
To facilitate the insertion of the prefabricated connection lugs on the inner wall 7 of the insulating body 1 is expediently arranged inclined at an angle of 10 to the vertical central axis. During the Mon days, the connection lugs are inserted from above into the shaft-like openings 2 in such a way that the foot end 3 of the connection lugs rests on the support surface 5 and the head end 13 rests on the support rib 8 of the insulating body 1.
The center piece 14 of the connection lugs lies flat against the outer wall 9 of the insulating body 1. At the same time, the shaft-like opening 2 is covered from above by the head end 13 of the connection lugs. The bores in the connecting lugs are provided with passages 26 to extend the thread. After inserting the connection lugs, the clamping screws are first mounted on the foot ends 3.
To accommodate the shaft 11 of the lower Klemmschrau ben 1 recesses 6 are seen in the insulating body. The head 12 of the lower clamping screw ensures that the terminal lug cannot be lost. The connection lug cannot be removed from the insulating material body 1 with the clamping screw screwed in. Before changing the connection lugs, the lower clamping screws must first be loosened.
The electrical connection between the parallel opposite terminal lugs is made by connecting tabs 17, the connecting tabs 17 being fastened by upper clamping screws 16.
In this construction, the shaft end 15 of the upper clamping screw 16 also has to fulfill the function of a spacer bolt. The shaft end 15 of the upper clamping screw 16 rests against the inner wall 7 of the insulating material body 1 when the connection tab 11 is screwed tight and fixes the connection lug against lateral displacement. The connection lugs are given an excellent fit in the insulating body 1.
If the connection between the terminal lugs is to be interrupted, it is sufficient to loosen the upper clamping screws 16 and lift the connecting tabs 17. A test socket can also be used in place of the upper clamping screw 16 for test purposes.
It is also possible to design the connection lug in such a way that a tongue 18 is cut out of the center piece 14, bent out horizontally and the head end 20 is made hook-shaped. While the tongue 18 contains only one threaded hole 19, the foot end 3 of the terminal lug is also provided with a passage 26.
The thread length in the threaded hole 19 is sufficient in most cases without a draft 26 because the stress on the Ge thread in the tongue 18 of the terminal lug is far less than at the foot end 3, where the cable cores are clamped. In this variant, the hook-shaped head end 20 of the connection lug rests in the assembled state on the support rib 8 and the tongue 18 rests on the upper edge 21 of the outer wall 9 of the insulating body 1,
whereby a stable fastening of the connection lug is achieved.
Furthermore, connecting lugs with a head piece 23, foot piece 24 and narrower central web 22 can be used in the insulating material body in the manufacture of the connection strip without changing its construction. In the head piece 23 of this connecting lug, incisions 25 are machined so that the tabs 27 with the head piece 23 can be bent horizontally. The mounted connection lug also rests on the one hand with the tabs 27 on the support rib 8 and on the other hand with the head piece 23 on the upper edge 21 of the outer wall 9.
The central web 22 is bent in such a way that it almost touches the lowest point on the inside of the outer wall 9. This prevents the connection lug from shifting to the side.
The mounting holes 28 contained in Isolierstoffkköresr 1 are used to attach the terminal strips in the Kabelverteslergehäusz.
