Gegenstand der Erfindunglst ein insektizides Mittel, welches als aktive Komponente eine Verbindung der Formel

R1 einen gegebenenfalls durch Halogen, Alkyl und/oder Alkoxy substituierten Phenyl-, Phenoxy-, Phenylthio- oder Cyclohexylrest oder einen über ein Alkylen-, Alkylenoxyoder Alkylenthio-Brückenglied und den Phenylrest gebundenen Phenyl- oder Cyclohexylrest und
R2 Cyano, Carbamoyl, einen Alkoxycarbonyl-, Alkyloder Dialkylcarbamoyl-Rest bedeuten, enthält.
Unter einem Alkylen- Alkylenoxy- oder Alkenylthio Brückenglied ist ein geradkettiger oder verzweigter Rest mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen, insbesondere ein -CH2-, -CH2-CH2-,-CH2-O-, -CH2-CH2-O-, CH2-S-, -CH2-CH2-S-, -CH2-CH2-CH2- Rest zu verstehen.
Bei Alkyl- und Alkoxy-Resten handelt es sich um niedere Reste mit I bis 5 Kohlenstoffatomen, beispielsweise um Methyl, Äthyl, n-Propyl, Isopropyl, n-Butyl oder n-Pentyl, sowie die Isomeren der letztgenannten Reste, Methoxy, Äthoxy, Propoxy, Isopropoxy, fl-Butoxy und n-Pentoxy usw.

Als Basen kommen Alkoholate, Amide oder Hydroxide von Alkali- und Erdalkalimetallen, sowie stark basische Amine in Betracht.
Das Verfahren wird in gegenüber den Reaktionsteilnehmern inerten Lösungs- und Verdünnungsmitteln durchgeführt, beispielsweise in aromatischen Kohlenstoffen wie Benzol, Toluol, Xylol; weiterhin Alkoholen wie Methanol, Äthanol, Propanol, Isopropanol oder Butanolen, Glykolen; sowie Äthern, wie Diisopropyläther, Tetrahydrofuran, Dioxan oder N,N-dialkylierten Amiden wie Dialkylformamiden; N-Methylpyrrolidon, Sulfoxiden usw.
Die Reaktionstemperaturen liegen im Bereich von 0 bis 150 C vorzugsweise aber im Bereich von 20-80"C.
Die Ausgangsstoffe der Formel (IV) können z. B. nach dem im J.A.C.S. 80, 5524ff (1958) beschriebenen Verfahren hergestellt werden. Bei der Herstellung der Verbindungen der Formel I bilden sich die beiden möglichen geometrischen Isomeren. Die beschriebenen Verbindungen stellen zum Teil Gemische dieser Isomeren dar, wie diese bei der Synthese anfallen.
Die Wirkstoffe der Formel I eignen sich zur Bekämpfung von Insekten. Im Gegensatz zu den meisten der bisher bekannten Insektiziden, die als Kontakt- oder Frassgifte die Tiere töten, lähmen oder vertreiben, beeinflussen die Wirkstoffe der Formel I deren Entwicklung.
So wird bei den Insekten beispielsweise die Häntung (bei Hemimetabolen) oder die Umwandlung zur Imago (bei Halometabolen) und bei den Vertretern der Ordnung Akarina insbesondere die Entwicklung des Eies gestört.
Die Generationsfolge wird unterbrochen und die Tiere werden somit indirekt getötet. Für Warmblüter sind die Butencarbonsäure-Derivate praktisch ungiftig. Ausserdem werden diese Verbindungen leicht abgebaut, eine Kumulation ist daher ausgeschlossen.
Die neuen Buten-carbonsäure-Derivate können vor allem zur Bekämpfung folgender Pflanzen-, Vorrats- und Hygieneschädlingen eingesetzt werden: Gegen Insekten der Ordnung und Familien: Orthoptera

Die Verbindungen der Formel I können für sich allein oder zusammen mit geeigneten Trägern und/oder Zuschlagstoffen eingesetzt werden.
Geeignete Träger und Zuschlagstoffe können fest oder flüssig sein und entsprechen den in der Formulierungstechnik üblichen Stoffen wie z. B. natürlichen oder regenerierten Stoffen, Lösungs-, Dispergier-, Netz-, Haft-, Verdickungs-, Binde- und/oder Düngemitteln.
Die Herstellung erfindungsgemässer Mittel erfolgt in an sich bekannter Weise durch inniges Vermischen und/oder Vermahlen von Wirkstoffen der Formel I mit den geeigneten Trägerstoffen, gegebenenfalls unter Zusatz von gegenüber den Wirkstoffen inerten Dispergier- oder Lösungsmitteln.
Die Wirkstoffe können in den folgenden Aufarbeitungsformen vorliegen und angewendet werden: feste Aufarbeitungsformen:
Stäubemittel, Streumittel,
Granulate, Umhüllungsgranulate,
Imprägnierungsgranulate und
Homogengranulate flüssige Aufarbeitungsformen: a) in Wasser dispergierbare Wirkstoffkonzentrate:
Spritzpulver (wettable powder),
Pasten, Emulsionen b) Lösungen.
Die Wirkstoffe der Formel I können beispielsweise wie folgt formuliert werden:
Stäubemittel:
Zur Herstellung eines a) 5 %igen und b) 2 %igen Stäube mittels werden die folgenden Stoffe verwendet: a) 5 Teile Wirkstoff
95 Teile Talkum; b) 2 Teile Wirkstoff
1 Teil hochdisperse Kieselsäure,
97 Teile Talkum.
Die Wirkstoffe werden mit den Trägerstoffen vermischt und vermahlen.
Granulate:
Zur Herstellung eines 5 %igen Granulates werden die fol genden Stoffe verwendet:
5 Teile Wirkstoff
0,25 Teile Epichlorhydrin,
0,25 Teile Cetylpolyglykoläther
3,50 Teile Polyäthylenglykol ( Carbowax ),
91 Teile Kaolin (Korngrösse 0,3-0,8 mm).
Die Aktivsubstanz wird mit Epichlorhydrin vermischt und mit 6 Teilen Aceton gelöst, hierauf wird Polyathylenglykol und Cetylpolglykoläther zugesetzt. Die so erhaltene Lösung wird auf Kaolin aufgesprüht und anschliessend das Aceton im
Vakuum verdampft.
Spritzpulver:
Zur Herstellung eines a) 40%igen, b) und c) 25 %igen und d) 10%igen Spritzpulvers werden folgende Bestandteile verwendet: a) 40 Teile Wirkstoff
5 Teile Ligninsulfonsäure-Natriumsalz,
1 Teil Dibutylnaphthalinsulfonsäure-Natriumsalz,
54 Teile Kieselsäure; b) 25 Teile Wirkstoff
4,5 Teile Calcium-Ligninsulfonat,
1,9 Teile Champagne-Kreide-Hydrosyäthylcellulose

1,5 Teile Natrium-dibutyl-naphthalinsulfonat,

Die Wirkstoffe werden in geeigneten Mischern mit den Zuschlagstoffen innig vermischt und auf entsprechenden Mühlen und Walzen vermahlen. Man erhält Spritzpulver, die sich mit Wasser zu Suspensionen jeder gewünschten Konzentration verdünnen lassen. Emulgierbare Konzentrate: Zur Herstellung eines a) 10%igen und b) 25%igen emulgierbaren Konzentrates werden folgende Stoffe verwendet: a) 10 Teile Wirkstoff
3,4 Teile epoxydiertes Pflanzenöl,
13,4 Teile eines Kombinationsemulgators, bestehend aus Fettalkoholpolyglykoläther und Alkylaryl sulfonat-Calcium-Salz,
40 Teile Dimethylformamid,
43,2 Teile Xylol; b) 25 Teile Wirkstoffsäureester,
2,5 Teile epoxydiertes Pflanzenöl,
10 Teile eines Alkylarylsulfonat-Fettalkoholpoly- glykoläther-Gemisches,
5 Teile Dimethylformamid,
57,5 Teile Xylol.
Aus diesen Konzentraten können durch Verdünnen mit Wasser Emulsionen jeder gewünschten Konzentration hergestellt werden.
Sprühmittel:
Zur Herstellung eines 5 %igen Sprühmittels werden die folgenden Bestandteile verwendet: a) 5 Teile Wirkstoff
1 Teil Epichlorhydrin,
94 Teile Benzin (Siedegrenzen 160-190"C).
Diese Lösungen werden mit Druckspritzen versprüht. Die Lösung a) wird vorteilhaft zur Bekämpfung von Blattläusen auf Obstbäumen und anderen Pflanzen verwendet.
Den beschriebenen Mitteln lassen sich andere biozide Wirkstoffe oder Mittel beimischen. So können die neuen Mittel ausser den genannten Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel I zum Beispiel Insektizide, Fungizide, Bakterizide, Fungistatika, Bakteriostatika, Nematozide oder Herbizide zur Verbreiterung des Wirkungsspektrums enthalten.
Beispiel 1
1.1 In eine Mischung von 816 g Diphenyläther, 3,5 kg konzentrierter Salzsäure und 520g 36 %iger Formaldehydlösung leitet man unter Rühren bei etwa 90 C 16 Stunden lang Chlorwasserstoff ein. Anschliessend wird die Lösung in Eiswasser gegossen und mit einem Diäthyläther/Petrol Åather-Gemisch extrahiert. Die organische Phase wird mehrere Male mit Wasser gewaschert, über Natriumsulfat unter Zusatz von wenig Kaliumcarbonat getrocknet und eingedampft. Der Rückstand wird im Vakuum unter Zusatz von Kaliumcarbonat destilliert. Bei 143-156 C/2 mm geht reines Phenoxybenzylchlorid über.
1.21 -16,1 g Natrium werden in 400 ml absolutem Äthanol gelöst; in die noch heisse Lösung-lässt man 182 g Acetessig säureäthylester innerhalb einer Stunde zutropfen und anschliessend bei Siedetemperatur während drei Stunden 156 g Phenoxybenzylchlorid. Man lässt das Gemisch noch 15 Stunden unter Rückfluss sieden, filtriert nach dem Abkühlen von dem weissen Niederschlag ab und dampft die Lösung ein. Zu dem Rückstand gibt man 100 g Natriumhydroxid in 2 Litern Wasser und rührt die Mischung 15 Stunden unter Rückfluss.
Danach extrahiert man sie mit Diäthyläther. Die organischen Phasen werden getrocknet und eingedampft. Nach der Hochvakuumdestillation erhält man 4-(4'-Phenoxy-phenyl)-2butanon mit dem Siedepunkt 144,5-148" C/0,03 mm.
1.22 Bei 10-20" C werden in eine Suspension von 35 g wasserfreien Aluminiumchlorid in 100 ml trockenem Methylenchlorid, 34 g Diphenyläther, gelöst in 100 ml trockenen Methylenchlorid, zugetropft. Innerhalb 30 Minuten werden dem Gemisch unter gelegentlichem Kühlen bei 15-20 C 14 g Methylvinylketon in 50 ml Methylenchlorid zugesetzt.
Anschliessend wird die Reaktions-Suspension bei 5-10 C 2,5 Stunden gerührt, dann auf 1 Liter Eiswasser gegossen.
Nachdem die Suspension mit konz. Salzsäure stark sauer gestellt ist, wird die Methylenchloridlösung abgetrennt und die verbleibende wässrige Suspension dreimal mit 100 ml Methylenchlorid ausgezogen. Die vereinigten Methylenchloridauszüge werden dreimal mit je 400 ml Wasser neutral gewaschen, mit Natriumsulfat getrocknet, abfiltriert. Nach dem Abdestillieren des Methylenchlorids resultieren 46,3 g grünes Öl, welches im Hochvakuum fraktioniert wird. Es werden 23 g 4-(4'-Phenoxyphenyl)-2-butanon vom Sdp. 135-136 C 0,001 Torr erhalten nD20 = 1,5648.
1.3 In eine Mischung von 24 g 4-(4'-Phenoxy-phenyl)2-butanon, 7,2 g etwa 50%igem Natriumhydrid und 750 ml absolutem Benzol lässt man bei Raumtemperatur langsam 30 g D imethoxy-phosphinylessigsäuremethylester zutropfen.
Es entsteht eine graue, gallertartige Masse, die noch 15 Stunden weitergerührt wird. Dann gibt man 500 ml reinstes Dimethylformamid zu und rührt nochmals 4 Stunden. Die Mischung wird nun in Wasser gegossen und mit Diäthyläther extrahiert; die organische Phase wird noch mehrere Male.mit Wasser gewaschen, über Natriumsulfat getrocknet und eingedampft. Den Rückstand chromatographiert man an etwa 300 g Kieselgel mit Benzol als Eluiermittel und erhält ein Cis-trans-Gemisch der Verbindung der Formel

Beispiel 2 a) Wirkung gegen Dysdercus fasciatus
10 Dysdercus fasciatus-Larven, die 8-10 Tage vor der Adulthäutung stehen,
wurden topical mit einer acetonischen Wirkstofflösung in der Konzentration 5y behandelt. Die Ve- suchstiere wurden dann bei 280 C und 80-90% relativer Luftfeuchtigkeit gehalten. Als Futter erhielten die Dysdercus fasciatus-Larven Schrot von vorgequollenen Baumwollsamen.
Nach etwa 10 Tagen, d. h. sobald die Kontrolltiere die
Adulthäutung vollzogen haben, wurden die Versuchstiere -untersucht. Man fand neben normalen Adulten und toten Larven oder Puppen Sonderformen wie Extralarven (Larven mit einer zusätzlichen Larvalhäutung) und Adultoide (Adulte mit Larvenmerkmalen). Bei den Sonderformen handelte es sich um nichtlebensfähige Entwicklungsstadien, die im nor lamen Entwicklungszyklus nicht zu finden sind.
Aus der folgenden Tabelle ist die Anzahl Normaltiere ersichtlich, die bei der angegebenen Konzentration gefunden wurden. KeineNormaladulte bedeutet 100% Hormonwirkung.
