Description

The subject of this invention is a low-noise lock latch consisting of a steel shaft and a plastic head, characterized in that the latch head has one or more recesses or projections for receiving the corresponding projections or recesses of the metal holder and is clamped between two interconnected parts of this metal holder.
It has always been known that the main noise when opening and closing doors, apart from the noises made by the door and door frame, comes from the latch striking the so-called strike plate.
That is why attempts have been made again and again to make this plastic lock latch, often in conjunction with a metal shaft. These plastic trap heads in conjunction with metal shafts have generally proven effective, while all-plastic traps have been abandoned.
A major problem, however, was the production of this metal-plastic connection. Solutions have become known in which the plastic latch head is welded onto the metal shaft or also sprayed on in the injection molding machine. Both operations are expensive, take a lot of time because of the temperature profile that is inevitably associated with this type of production and therefore could never seriously compete with the metal trap in terms of price.
The lock latch according to the invention is now very suitable for mass production at an affordable price. You remain completely free in the choice of the chosen metals and plastics, because the connection takes place at room temperatures.
FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of the object according to the invention in a side section, FIG. 2 in a top view.
The plastic latch head 1 in the example shown has two circular recesses 2, punched-out humps 4 corresponding to the latch stem 3. The latch stem 3 has a second retaining plate 5 firmly connected to it, which in the example has projections 6 which are in corresponding Recesses 7 of the plastic latch head 1 engage. The easiest way to connect the latch shaft 3 to the retaining plate 5 is by spot welding, whereby the two metal parts can be designed in such a way that the plastic latch head 1 is slightly pretensioned.
PATENT CLAIM
Low-noise lock latch consisting of a steel shaft and a plastic head, characterized in that the latch head has one or more recesses or projections for receiving the corresponding projections or recesses of the metal bracket and is clamped between two interconnected parts of this metal bracket.
SUBClaim
Low-noise lock latch according to claim, characterized in that the connection of the two metal parts consists of spot welds.
