   La présente invention a pour objet l'utilisation, comme ingrédient parfumant pour la préparation de parfums et de produits parfumés, d'un composé carbonylé tricyclique de formule
EMI1.1     

 Il a été récemment découvert que le composé carbonylé ci-dessus, plus précisément la   5-méthyl-tricyclo[6.2. 1 .02,']undécane    4-one,   posséde    d'intéressantes propriétés organoleptiques et qu'il peut être de ce fait avantageusement utilisé à titre d'ingrédient pour la préparation de parfums dilués ou concentrés, pour la reconstitution d'huiles essentielles d'origines diverses ou pour la préparation de produits parfumés tels que savons, détergents, produits d'entretien ou produits cosmétiques par exemple.



   Ledit composé tricyclique a notamment pour effet de développer, dans les produits auxquels il est incorporé, une note olfactive originale, de caractère floral. Ce composé possède en outre une action fixative et renforçatrice particulièrement appréciée dans l'art de la parfumerie.



   La   5-méthyl-tricyclo[6.2.1.02 ']undécane-4-one    est un composé nouveau. Elle peut être aisément préparée à partir d'une oléfine tricyclique, le   5-méthyl-tricyclo[6.2.1.02 7]undéc-4-ène,    selon la méthode illustrée ci-après:

 La réaction d'époxydation peut s'effectuer selon les techniques usuelles, notamment au moyen d'un peracide organique tel l'acide performique, peracétique,   perbenzoique,    monoperbenzoique, perphtalique ou   trifluoroperacétique    par exemple, en présence d'un solvant organique inerte tel le chloroforme, le chlorure de méthylène, le trichloroéthylène ou le dichloroéthane par exemple.



   Ladite époxydation peut être en outre effectuée en milieu tamponné. On peut utiliser à cet effet un sel alcalin d'un acide organique comme l'acide formique, acétique, propionique, butyrique, oxalique, citrique ou tartrique par exemple. On utilise de préférence l'acétate de sodium ou potassium, dans le chlorure de méthylène.



   La réaction d'époxydation peut s'effectuer à une température variant de façon étendue. On obtient cependant les meilleurs rendements en produit final en opérant à une température voisine de ou inférieure à   OC,    de préférence entre environ - 10 et environ   OC.   



   La réaction d'époxydation peut également s'effectuer à l'aide d'un mélange d'eau oxygénée et d'un nitrile organique, à un pH d'environ 8.



   A cet effet, on utilise plus précisément le benzonitrile, dans un milieu apte à maintenir un pH d'environ 8 au cours de la réaction, telle une solution aqueuse de bicarbonate de sodium ou potassium par exemple [voir à ce sujet J. Org. Chem. 26,   659(1961)    et Tetrahedron 18, 763 (1962)].



   Les peracides organiques, utilisés pour ladite époxydation, peuvent être préparés in situ, par traitement d'un acide organique au moyen d'eau oxygénée, en présence d'un acide minéral, selon les techniques usuelles [voir par exemple: H.O. House, Modern
Synthetic Reactions, Benjamin, Inc., New York (1965), p. 105 et suivantes].



   L'isomérisation de l'époxyde intermédiaire ainsi obtenu s'effectue par traitement dudit composé intermédiaire au moyen d'un agent   isomérisant    acide ou basique. Comme agent acide, on peut utiliser un acide minéral ou organique, ou encore un acide dit de
Lewis tel que BF3,   SnCl4,    FeCI3 ou AICI3 par exemple. On utilise de préférence BF3 en solution dans l'éther.



   Le 5-méthyl-tricyclo[6.2.   1.02 7]undéc-4-ène,    utilisé comme produit de départ selon la méthode exposée ci-dessus, s'obtient à partir de norbornène, par traitement de ce dernier au moyen d'isoprène, dans les conditions d'une réaction de cycloaddition selon Diels
Alder.



   Ladite cycloaddition s'effectue de préférence en présence d'un inhibiteur de polymérisation tel que l'hydroquinone ou le pyrogallol par exemple, ou encore en présence d'un mélange, de proportions variables, desdits composés. Ladite réaction peut être en outre effectuée sous atmosphère inerte, sous azote ou argon par exemple.



     Detelsperfectionnementstechniquesnesontcependantpasindispen-    sables à l'obtention de hauts rendements en produit final.



   Bien que la présence d'un catalyseur ne soit pas non plus indispensable lors de la réaction de cycloaddition, ladite réaction peut être dans certains cas favorisée par l'action de la chaleur ou d'une pression supérieure à la pression atmosphérique. C'est ainsi que   l'on    opère de préférence à une température comprise entre environ 100 et environ   200"C,    plus précisément entre 150 et   180     C, à une pression comprise entre environ 10 et environ 200 atm.



  L'intervalle de température susmentionné, tout comme l'intervalle de pression, peut cependant varier au-delà des limites précitées.



   La synthèse de la   5-méthyl-tricyclo[6.2.1.02 ']undecane-4-one    est donnée ci-après de façon plus précise:
 a) Un mélange de norbornène (715 g; 7,6 M), d'isoprène (550 g; 8,1 M) et pyrogallol (2 g) a été chauffé dans un autoclave en acier  INOX  à environ   150" C,    pendant 15 h: on a atteint ainsi une pression d'environ 20 atm. Le mélange de réaction a été ensuite distillé à l'aide d'une colonne Vigreux et a fourni 467 g de   5-méthyl-tricyclo[6.2.1.02,7]undéc-4-ène,    éb.   90"C/10    Torr (rend.



  38%).

     RMN(CCl4):    0,90 à 1,80 (10H, plusieurs m); 1,67 (3H, s); 1,90
 (4H, m); 5,42 (1H, d,   J=6,7    cps)   Ï    ppm.



   b) On a placé dans un ballon muni d'agitation mécanique, d'un thermomètre et d'une ampoule d'introduction surmontée d'un tube de   CaC12,    24,3 g (150 mM) du produit préparé selon a), 31 g d'acétate de sodium anhydre et 150   ml    de chlorure de méthylène.



  Le tout a été mis sous vigoureuse agitation, à une température d'environ   OC.    A cette température, on y a ajouté pendant 15 minutes 29 g (150 mM) d'une solution d'acide peracétique à 40% et 1 g d'acétate de soude anhydre, l'addition étant effectuée de façon à maintenir la température entre environ 0 et   5 C.    L'addition d'acide peracétique une fois terminée, le mélange de réaction a été laissé à température ambiante pendant environ 3 heures, puis filtré. 

  Le filtrat clair ainsi obtenu a été lavé à l'eau, puis au carbonate de sodium (2 x avec 100   ml    d'eau et 2 x avec 100   ml    de Na2CO3 à 10%) et enfin à nouveau à l'eau (2 x avec 100   ml).    Les parties organiques séparées ont ensuite été évaporées sous pression réduite pour fournir un résidu qui, par distillation à l'aide d'une colonne de type Vigreux, a donné 25,8 g de   5-méthyl4,5-époxy-tricyclo-      [6.2.1.02,']undécane    (rend. 97%); éb.   110 C/10    Torr.

 43 (100), 27 (21).



     RMN(CCl4):    1,18 (3H, s); 2,73 (1H, d, J=3,9   cps) 6    ppm.



   c) On a placé dans un ballon muni d'un agitateur mécanique, d'une ampoule d'introduction et d'un thermomètre, 12,7 g (70 mM) du composé époxydé préparé selon b) dans 300 ml de toluène sec. Au mélange réactionnel maintenu à   20    C, on a ensuite ajouté pendant 30 minutes 19,8 g (140 mM)   d'éthérate    de trifluorure de bore, puis 50 ml d'une solution aqueuse à 5% de bi
 carbonate de sodium. La solution, qui avait acquis une coloration
 brunâtre   aprés    l'addition de l'éthérate, s'est finalement décolorée.



   Le mélange de réaction a ensuite été lavé avec une solution
 aqueuse à 5% de bicarbonate de sodium (1 x 100 ml et avec de
 l'eau (2 x 100 ml). La phase organique a été séchée sur du MgSO4 anhydre et évaporée sous pression réduite. Par distillation frac
 tionnée du résidu, on a finalement obtenu 10,8 g de 5-méthyl
   tricyclo[6.2.1.02,7]undécane-4-one,    éb.   120-122     C/10 Torr.



   (rend. 85%).

   121(23),    109 (43), 93 (39), 79 (66), 67   (91),    55 (37),
   41(64),    27 (27).



     RMN(CCl4):    1,08 (3H, d, J=7,5   cps) oppm.   



   IR(CCl4): 1710   cm-l.   



   L'exemple ci-après illustre la présente invention de façon plus
 détaillée.



   Exemple
 On a préparé une composition parfumante de base de type
  Lavande  en mélangeant les ingrédients suivants (parties en

 Lorsqu'à 90 g de la composition de base ci-dessus, on ajoute 10 g de 5-méthyl-tricyclo[6.2.1.02.7]undécane-4-one, on obtient une nouvelle composition parfumante dont le caractère de lavande typique est nettement plus prononcé que celui de ladite base.

    Utilisation d'un composé carbonylé tricyclique de formule EMI2.1 à titre d'ingrédient parfumant pour la préparation de parfums et de produits parfumés.
