Abstract

The protective plate is in the form of a shoe sole with a narrow slit running the full length of the centre line of the upper surface. The slit is wide enough to fit the skate blade and about as deep as it is wide. Straps are attached at the heel and near the toe of the plate to fix the plate to the skater's shoe. The plate protects the skate blade from accidental damage and also allows the skater to walk to and from the skating area without having to change his shoes at the edge of the ice.

Description

   PATENTANSPRUCH

The present invention relates to a device for ice skaters to enable them to walk on ordinary ground.

People who ice skate often find it necessary to move away from the ice and walk a certain distance on ordinary ground, but it is inconvenient to take off the skates and replace them with normal shoes. On the other hand, it is inconvenient to walk with the skates on normal ground; furthermore, such walks would damage the skate blades.

The aim of the invention is to avoid the aforementioned disadvantages and to provide a device with the aid of which skate wearers can go for walks on ordinary ground without having to take off their skates.

This object is achieved with the device according to the invention, which is characterized by a flexible, flat, elongated organ having the shape of a sole, a groove which is formed in the upper surface of the said organ for receiving the skate blades, and by detachable means, in order to attach said organ to the shoe part of a skate.

The groove can penetrate the organ in the vertical direction and extend along its longitudinal center line.

The detachable means can each have two detachable bands attached to the front part and rear part of the organ.

The skater can put on the device.

without having to take off your skates. One of the organs mentioned can be attached to each foot so that a walk on ordinary ground is possible.

When the organs are then removed again, skating can resume.

An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. It shows:
Fig. 1 is an exploded view of the invention, together with a skate and
Figure 2 is a perspective image of the invention in use.

Fig. 1 shows the elongated, flexible sole-shaped organ 10, which is designed to enable the wearer to walk on it. The groove 12 is located in the upper surface of the organ 10 and extends along its longitudinal horizontal center line. The organ 10 also has the detachable bands 14 and 16 arranged on its front part and on its rear part.

The user wearing the skates 18 places the blades 20 in the corresponding groove 12 of the corresponding member 10 and fastens the straps 14, 16 around the shoe part of the skate. In this way he can go for walks with ease as described above.
