Abstract

The display panel, of the liquid-crystal type, includes segment/ electrodes on a plate and a common electrode on the opposite plate, these electrodes being arranged so as to display the hour and minute digits. In a corner of the panel, the area (9) includes signs (12) consisting of six triangles laid out as a hexagon and which can be successively energised so as to indicate the seconds. Between the cell and a reflecting plate is placed a coloured transparent plate whose area corresponding to the field (9) is of a different colour from the rest of its surface. Finally, the cell is covered by another coloured transparent plate which colours the parts rendered opaque by the energising of the liquid crystal. <IMAGE>
