Abstract
In piston/cylinder arrangements having a seal (3) liable to leakage between the working space (1b) limited by a piston (2) and a cylinder (1), on the one hand, and a leakage space (4), on the other hand, and having a leakage discharge (8) connected to the latter, there is a problem of a simple and reliable separation of the leakage medium or escaping working medium from the lubricating system or from other sensitive components of the arrangement. To solve the problem, the piston (2) is provided with a can-shaped force-transmission and guide member (5) which engages round the piston (2) and the cylinder (1) receiving the latter and which is connected by means of a gasket (6) to a surrounding housing bore (7a), the interior (4) of the force-transmission and guide member (5) being connected to the leakage discharge (8). Sufficient space is thereby provided for the expansion and spread of the leakage medium, so that the gasket (6) between the force-transmission and guide member (5) and the housing bore (7a) can work virtually free of differential pressure and therefore in an especially reliable way, whilst the interior (4) of the said member can act additionally as a pumping space for discharging the leakage medium. <IMAGE>

PATENTANSPRÜCHE

PATENT CLAIMS
1. Piston-cylinder arrangement with a leak-tight seal between the working space delimited by the piston and cylinder and a leakage space which is connected to a leakage discharge for the working medium, characterized in that the piston (2) with a sleeve-shaped power transmission and guide member (5) is connected, which encompasses the piston (2) and the cylinder (I) receiving it, that the power transmission and guide member (5) is connected by a seal to a surrounding housing bore (7a) and that the interior (4) of the power transmission - And guide member (5) with the leakage drain (8) in connection.
2. Piston-cylinder arrangement according to claim 1, characterized in that the leakage discharge (8) is connected to the cavity (4a) formed between the cylinder-side end of the force transmission and guide member (5) and the housing bore (7a).
3. Piston-cylinder arrangement according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that at least one check valve is arranged in the course of the leakage flow
The invention relates to a piston-cylinder arrangement according to the preamble of claim 1. Such arrangements are common. The removal of the leak medium is associated with special equipment.
Above all, the separation of the leak medium, in particular a liquid such as water or the like, from the lubrication system of the arrangement is difficult.
The object of the invention is to provide a piston-cylinder arrangement which is distinguished by simple leakage removal and the same reliable separation of the leakage medium from adjacent arrangement parts or cavities. The solution is characterized by the features of claim 1.
The invention is explained in more detail with reference to the exemplary embodiment shown schematically in the drawing in an axial section.
In a cylinder 1, which is closed by a cover 1 a, there is a working space 1 b, which e.g. can pulsate in the sense of a pump or motor function and can be moved with an arrow X, e.g. oscillating piston 2 is completed. A customary, leaky seal 3 is inserted between the piston and cylinder.
According to the arrows indicated leakage medium enters the interior 4 of a power transmission and guide member 5 encompassing the piston and the cylinder, which is also mounted on the outside in a bore 7a of a housing 7 so as to be displaceable in the direction X and with an oscillating drive member, for example an eccentric gear 2a (not shown in detail) is in operative connection.
The link 5 thus transmits the drive movement and the corresponding forces to the piston 2. In addition, as a result of this connection with the oscillating drive, the interior 4 acts as a pulsating pump chamber which, according to the ascending arrows, passes the leakage medium through the gap between cylinder 1 and the inside surface of the link 5 promotes in an upper cavity 4a and from there into a discharge line 8. This pumping action can optionally be supported by a check valve (not shown) in the discharge line or in the area of the cavity 4a or its connection to the pumping chamber 4. The sliding connection between the outer surface of the link 5 and the cylinder bore 7a is provided with a seal 6, so that there is a perfect separation of the leakage space from the interior 10 in the area of the drive with its lubrication.
