Abstract

The watch case (2) has an annular groove (3) around the outside of the watch-glass holder. Small flat blocks (5) shaped to fit inside the groove are placed side by side in the groove. The blocks are placed around the groove until they fill part of the periphery of the watch case. Each block contains a letter, figure or other sign on its top face (7). A transparent layer (10) dimensionally the same as the groove fits over the blocks, retaining ande protecting them. The sides of the groove are slightly inclined to help retain the transparent layer.
