Description
One-piece kitchen utensil with tail. The thin stamped metal kitchen utensils currently employed such as frying pans, saucepans, colanders, skimmers etc., all have attached shanks which are attached to the bodies of the utensils, most often by means of rivets.
The result of this assembly in two parts of great disadvantages reside mainly in the difficulty of cleaning due to the sharp edges and the gaps existing, between the body and the tail, in the lack of solidity of the assembly, in the liquid leaks passing through the holes receiving the rivets etc.
The utensil according to the present invention does not have these drawbacks. It is established in molten metal, with a tail made in one piece with the body of the utensil. This utensil can be a frying pan, saucepan, soiree, skimmer etc. It is made by pouring molten metal, for example pure aluminum, an aluminum alloy or the like, in a mold established in such a way that a utensil is obtained whose tail is made in one piece. with the body, which eliminates any subsequent seaming.
Thus, with this manufacturing process, a great saving in labor, greater strength and ease of cleaning is achieved by the fact that the utensil melted in one piece with the tail does not have the sharp edges and folds mentioned above in which the grease or other impurity could be fixed.
An exemplary embodiment of such a utensil is shown in the accompanying drawing.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section thereof; Fig. 2 is a plan view. As can be seen in these figures, the body 1 of the frying pan carries a tail 2 which is made of cast iron in one piece with the body 1; this tail \? is, as usual, provided with an elongated opening 3 used to hang or suspend the utensil.
As stated above, the manufacturing process applies to all other kitchen utensils comprising a tail such as: saucepans, colanders, skimmers, etc.
