Plant pulping machine providing textile fibers. The object of the present invention is a machine for depulping plants providing textile fibers, which is characterized in that it comprises two depulpeur drums armed at their periphery with scrapers and acting successively, through them, on each side of the pulp. the plant which, for its part, is brought by driving rollers into the field of action of the scrapers.
It is shown, by way of example, in the accompanying drawing an embodiment of the pulping machine according to the present invention.
Fig. 1 shows it in perspective, certain parts being cut or supposed to be torn off to better enable the drawing to be read.
Fig. 2 shows the device used for the continuous supply of the machine and the first treatment and fig. 3 shows the organs which are used after the positive of FIG. 2 to pulp the fiber from the side opposite to the one that is attacked first.
The machine shown, which is specially constructed to pulp Mexican agaves which are commonly called "maguey manso", has t-hooks on which rests a tray not shown, of variable dimensions and inclination depending on the nature, size and weight of the plants to be treated. will however always be chosen such that the material to be treated slides by its own weight and finally arrives at the point e between the roller G and the roller a. This is armed with p points and is driven at a speed of approximately 420 times greater than that which is printed on drum n.
The points p of the roller a, while penetrating into the plants to be treated, lead them under the roller n from where they come within the range of action of the scrapers f, some of which are smooth and placed at an angle, others by against, toothed and placed straight on the drum mantle n. These scrapers begin depulpation by pressing the plant against the leather-lined part of a bridge.
During this operation, the plant is hand held pressed against this part r, by a violent current of air which results from the fact that a cover o which is represented cry in fig. 1 raised around its pivot rod, is eccentrically disposed on the drum 3a, which means that the air, entrained by the scrapers and entering through the end of the cover at which the articulation is provided, is driven violently into the narrow passage where the plants come into contact with the scrapers.
The air flow coming through the hood also has the effect. to drive away the half-pulped plant on the mobile fence s that a chain u rolling on gears g drives in a suitable direction. These pinions receive their movement from the drum n by means of a chain v of which only one strand is shown and which meshes with a wheel w integral with the axis on which one of the pinions g is wedged.
The mobile wire mesh brings the half-pulped plants to the rollers h and h '(fig. 3). These are grooved and are pivoted one in fixed bearings and the other in i so as to be able to slide, which allows them to adapt their axial distance to the thickness and to the quantity of plants arriving by mobile wire mesh. These rollers, which are used to drive the fibers, are also used to squeeze out part of the water that they contain. They pass the half-treated plants on deck j, on a part lined with leather r1 from which they are attacked by smooth scrapers arranged on a drum k.
These scrapers remove the pulp from the side where it still remained and, after being subjected to their action, the remaining fibers fall on rods q fixed on the periphery of two wheels l which receive a rotary movement of the drum k via of gears.
The fibers are then brought between two zzz rollers which are lined with leather or rubber and which smooth the fibers while still squeezing out what remains of their water.
The pulp removed on the one hand by the drum n, on the other hand by the drum k, is projected far from the machine. The strands of plants to be treated which are detached from the mass arriving between the roller c and the bridge e, by the scrapers f of the drum n, are seized by the rake y and, pressed on the movable mesh, driven by the chains u.
