Description

  

  Outil pour dresser et rectifier les meules.    La présente invention se rapporte à un  outil servant à dresser et rectifier les meules  en émeri, corrindon, les pierres de polissage,  etc., et dans lequel un diamant est serti à  l'extrémité de l'outil.  



  D'après l'invention, l'outil comprend une  tige dans laquelle est fixée une tête déta  chable en forme de champignon avec cavité  dans laquelle le diamant est logé, celui-ci  étant maintenu par un chapeau soudé à l'ar  gent sur le champignon de façon à maintenir  le diamant sans liaison rigide.  



  Pour permettre de se rendre compte de  l'invention et de la réaliser pratiquement, il  en est représenté à titre d'exemple, au dessin  ci-annexé une forme d'exécution.  



  La fig. 1 est une vue de cette forme d'exé  cution en élévation,  La fig. 2 une coupe d'une partie à une  plus grande échelle,  La fig. 3 une vue en plan de l'extrémité  active de l'outil à une plus grande échelle.  a indique une tige cylindrique en acier;  elle est fixée comme à l'ordinaire dans une  poignée b en bois. c est une tête détachable    constituée par une pièce, par exemple en  cuivre, laiton ou autre métal approprié, en  forme de champignon. Le pied d de cette  pièce est engagé dans une cavité centrale  formée à l'extrémité libre de la tige a clans  laquelle il est fixé par la vis dé serrage e.  Un diamant f est logé dans une cavité cen  trale formée dans la partie supérieure de la  tête c.  



  g est un chapeau par exemple en cuivre  fixé à la tête c par une soudure d'argent qui  ne doit pas toutefois toucher le diamant f.  Le trou percé au centre du chapeau g est à  la mesure du diamant afin que celui-ci  tienne bien en place. Le diamant est main  tenu ainsi sans liaison rigide.  



  Il a été reconnu qu'en montant le diamant  d'une façon rigide et directement à l'extré  mité de l'arbre de l'outil, comme actuelle  ment, on prive le diamant d'une partie des  qualités de corps tranchant que lui donne  sa dureté, et on l'expose à projeter des éclats  c'est-à-dire à se briser en partie ou en tota  lité, ce diamant se trouvant ainsi perdu  avant d'avoir été usé. Avec la. présente in  vention, cet inconvénient est évité.

  According to the invention, the tool comprises a shank in which is fixed a detachable mushroom-shaped head with a cavity in which the diamond is housed, the latter being held by a cap welded to the silver on the mushroom so as to maintain the diamond without a rigid connection.



  To make it possible to understand the invention and to realize it in practice, an embodiment thereof is shown by way of example, in the accompanying drawing.



  Fig. 1 is a view of this embodiment in elevation, FIG. 2 a sectional view of a part on a larger scale, FIG. 3 a plan view of the active end of the tool on a larger scale. a indicates a cylindrical steel rod; it is fixed as usual in a wooden handle b. it is a detachable head formed by a piece, for example made of copper, brass or other suitable metal, in the shape of a mushroom. The foot d of this part is engaged in a central cavity formed at the free end of the rod a in which it is fixed by the clamping screw e. A diamond f is housed in a central cavity formed in the upper part of the head c.



  g is a cap, for example made of copper, fixed to the head c by a silver solder which must not however touch the diamond f. The hole drilled in the center of the cap g is to measure the diamond so that it holds well in place. The diamond is thus hand held without a rigid bond.



  It has been recognized that mounting the diamond rigidly and directly to the end of the tool shaft, as at present, deprives the diamond of some of the sharp body qualities it deserves. gives its hardness, and it is exposed to projecting splinters, that is to say to breaking in part or in whole, this diamond being thus lost before having been worn. With the. present invention, this drawback is avoided.

CLAIM: Tool for stroking and grinding grinding wheels, characterized in that it comprises a shank in which is fixed a detachable mushroom-shaped head with a cavity in which a diamond is housed, the latter being held by a cap welded to the 'silver on the mushroom so as to keep the diamond without a rigid connection.
