Auflegevorrichtung an Bucliheftmascliinen.
Bei der neuen Auflegevorrichtung ist nun die zum Auflegen der Bogen auf den Auflege tisch der --Maschine zur Verfügung stehende Zeit wesentlich länger und werden die übrigen der erwähnten Übelstände beseitigt. Die neue Auflegevorrichtung besitzt nun einen Auflegetisch, der zum Zwecke des Auflegens eines neuen Bogens in der Breiten richtung der Maschine verschoben wird, und von solcher Breite ist, dass auf demselben neben dem in der Arbeitslage befindlichen Bogen ein zweiter Bogen Platz findet, dessen seitliche Stellung durch einen feststehenden Anschlag begrenzt wird. -Nach erfolgtem Heften des in der Arbeitsstellung befindlichen Bogens wird jeweilen der Auflegetisch seit wärts verschoben;
Auf der Welle 18 sitzt auch ein mit Stift 25 versehener Arm 26; der Stift 25 ist für den Eingriff in die Öffnung eines firmes 27 bestimmt; dieser sitzt zu sammen mit dem Hebel 29 auf der im Maschinengestell gelagerten Welle 28;
Im Support 2 ist noela ein Hebel 31 abgestützt, der mittelst einer daran angebrachten Gleit- rolle 32 mit der Kurvenscheibe 6 in Eingriff steht; das obere Ende dieses Hebels ist mit- telst des Lenkers 33 mit dem Auflegetisch 8 gelenkig verbunden;
Placement device on booklet machines. The known book stapling machines have a swinging table to hold the sheets to be stapled; the laying of the sheets on this table has to be followed when the latter is in the extreme position. It is obvious that the performance of the machine is very much dependent on the attentiveness and dexterity of the worker laying the sheet, in that the time available for laying the sheet on the table during one operation of the machine is only a very short one is.
Within this short period of time, it is not always possible for the worker to properly pull apart the sheets placed on the table beforehand, which is why it often happens that the stitches do not lie exactly in the fold of the sheet or the stapled sheets turn out unsightly or even become unusable.
With the new lay-up device, the time available to lay the sheets on the lay-up table of the machine is now much longer and the remaining inconveniences mentioned are eliminated. The new lay-up device now has a lay-up table, which is moved in the width direction of the machine for the purpose of laying a new sheet, and is of such width that a second sheet can be placed on the same next to the sheet in the working position, its lateral position is limited by a fixed stop. -After the stapling of the sheet in the working position, the support table is moved since the downward direction;
the second sheet automatically takes the place of the first. and then when the table goes backwards, it comes under the -; ennobles.
An exemplary embodiment of the new lay-up device is shown in the accompanying drawing, insofar as this is necessary for understanding. 1 and 2 show the device, each in a front view, in different positions of the work table; Figures 3 and 5 show the device in side view and Figure 4 relates to a detail. 1 designates the frame of the machine, 2 a support attached to the same, in which the shaft 3 is mounted.
This carries three cam disks 4, 5 and 6 and is set in rotation by a drive disk (not shown) with the aid of a clutch (also not shown) that can be actuated by a footstep. The support 2 also carries two parallel guide rods 7, guided at one end in the frame 1, on which the support table 8 slides; whose angular support surface is formed by Plat th 9 and 10, the former carrying a wedge-shaped stop 11 (Fig. 4).
On the support table 8 an angle lever 12 is superimposed ge. one end of which has a roller 13, and the other end of which carries a square with slave piece 14; the roller 13 intermittently engages the circumference of the cam 4 seated on the shaft 3, whereas the slave piece 14 rests in a groove of a ring 15, which is firmly seated on a rod 16 which is supported on the support table and the thread layer 17.
18 denotes a shaft mounted in the table 8 with two arms 19 firmly seated thereon, which are connected to the pricking rail 23 by means of articulated pieces 20, the latter itself being held in two guides 24 fastened to the table 8.
An arm 26 provided with a pin 25 is also seated on the shaft 18; the pin 25 is intended for engagement in the opening of a firmes 27; this sits together with the lever 29 on the shaft 28 mounted in the machine frame;
the lever 29 carries a sliding roller engaging in the groove of the cam disk 5. The vibrations of the lever 29 caused by the groove of the cam disk 5 cause, with the help of the parts 28, 27, 25, 26, 18, 19, 20, the pricking rail 23 with the pricking needles 30 to be raised and lowered.
In the support 2, a lever 31 is supported which is in engagement with the cam 6 by means of a slide roller 32 attached to it; the upper end of this lever is connected in an articulated manner to the support table 8 by means of the link 33;
It is clear from what has been sawn that during the rotation of the cam disk 6 by means of the parts 32, 31, 33 the support table 8 is given a reciprocating movement. In order to support the support table in its extreme left position, a tab 3h is arranged on the former, which comes to rest on a tab 37 of the frame 1 in the mentioned position (FIG. 2). 34 denotes a stop located on the support 2 for the sheet to be placed on the support table, with guide rib 35 which engages in a corresponding groove in the support table and one end of which forms the stop surface for the sheet.
The needle apparatus is attached to the frame 1 by means of the carrier 36a; in the former, the needles 38, 39 supporting needle bars 37a are guided displaceably. These needle bars are each, after the work table has been pushed into the extreme left position (Ar work position), given an up and down movement for the purpose of stitch formation in a known manner not belonging to the invention. 42 denotes the stitch bar with openings 4511 intended for the passage of the needles and an inclined surface 43, the purpose of which will be explained later.
A compression spring 40 seated on the rod 16 rests on the one hand on the left-hand arms of the table 8 and on the other hand against an adjusting ring 41 that is fixed on the rod 16 and thus gives the rod 16 with the ring 15 and the lever 12 the tendency that is shown in FIG Fig. 1 position shown.
The operation of the device is as follows: After the worker first placed a sheet 44 on the machine table, the machine is started, the shaft 3 in the sense of the arrow drawn in Fig. 1 is set in continuous rotation ver. Under the influence of the cam 6, the lever 31 swings to the left, with the effect that, by means of the handlebar 33, the work table 8, including the arc 44 located thereon, slides to the left, with the tab 36 of the table on the tab 37 of the frame 1 and the bolt 25 of the lever 26 comes to lie in the bore of the free end of the lever 27 (FIG. 2).
In this position of the table 8, the needles 30 of the pricking bar are located directly below the openings 4511 of the stitch bar 42. When the cam acts on the lever 29, the oscillations of the latter also cause the lever 27 to oscillate, with the effect that through the Parts 25, 26, 19, 20 lifted before the prick rail 23 within the guides 24, and the sheet 44 is pierced by the needles 30 from below and then the parts mentioned are returned to the previous position.
Now the needle bars 378 are lowered in a known way, not shown in the drawing, for the purpose of stapling the sheet and then raised again. At the same time, the bar 16 carrying the thread layer 17 is pushed to the left for the purpose of stitch formation; this is done by the before the mentioned left shift of the table 8, the sliding roller 13 seated at the lower end of the angle lever 12 reaches the path of the cam 4, which then in turn brings the rocker arm 12 to the Oszillie Ren, the upper end of which causes the aforementioned displacement of the rod 16 while overcoming of the back pressure exerted by the spring 40.
It is evident that during the stapling process, the work table 8 must remain in the left position shown in FIG. 2; During this process, the worker finds plenty of time to place a new sheet 45 astride the table 8 so that it comes to rest with the right-hand edge on the left-hand edge of the stop 34 (FIG. 2).
After the sheet 44 has been stapled, the cam 6 acts on the lever 31 to return the table to the right-hand position, with the stapled sheet 44 being pushed backwards or out of the area of the needles in a known manner, the sheet 45 placed last on the other hand is held up by the stop 34, and the table 8 as well as the stop 11 located thereon go under your arch 45. The latter now comes to lie on the table exactly where the sheet 44 was previously. During the next left turn of the table, the left edge of the stop 11 hits the right edge of the last sheet 45 placed on it and pushes it under the needles, whereupon this sheet is also stapled by the latter.
During this stapling, the worker has plenty of time to place a new sheet on the table and the game begins again.
From what you have said it follows that laying the sheets on the table does not require any particular skill, and in order to take advantage of the skill of the worker, one can operate the machine described with a higher number of revolutions than a machine with a finite oscillating machine table, which of course does the performance of the machine is increased.
If, when placing a sheet on the table, the fold of the sheet does not lie completely on the top of the table, this will certainly be enough when transferring the sheet under the needles by pressing the back of the sheet against the table through the inclined surface 43 of the stitch bar 42 becomes. The sheets also suffer a braking when passing on the steel rail, with the effect that they do not lead the stop 11 and come to a standstill with this and against it.
