Description

Verbrenn nngskraftmaschine.

Internal combustion engine. Internal combustion engines with a number of cylinders arranged in a circle around the motor shaft parallel to it or equal-axis cylinder pairs, the pistons of which drive the shaft by means of a swash plate loosely seated on an inclined crank, are essentially known.

With an appropriate design, such machines can have a high number of revolutions and a high degree of uniformity, and allow the effects of masses to be perfectly balanced. The high numbers of revolutions, however, more or less exclude the use of valve controls and allow slide controls to be used appear to be necessary.

There are also round slide controls for ordinary explosion engines known, the hollow round slide is arranged in the cylinder, whose piston slides in the round slide. The part of the rotary valve carrying the control slots is located in an annular space between the cylinder wall and a part of the cover protruding into the cylinder, which is provided with the control channels of the cylinder corresponding to the inner channels leading into the cylinder.

This storage of the rotary valve enables a better seal to be achieved and to protect the part of the valve that is now between the cooled cylinder wall and the cooled cover wall in the combustion chamber of the cylinder from the damaging influence of excessively high temperatures. Zar relief of such a slide has already been proposed to provide it with two opposite control slots, but also the part of the lid protruding into it, so that the slide is always symmetrically loaded from the inside from the pressure.

Due to this symmetrical arrangement of the control slots, however, a reduction in its speed by half is necessary, and this again has the disadvantage that the opening and closing times of the control channels are much too long. 1fIan has already proposed, in addition to a rotary valve in the cylinder, also to use a distribution valve outside the cylinder, whereby the opening and closing of the control channels of the cylinder is divided between two valves. The pressures then only have to be absorbed by the cylinder slide, while the slide located outside acts as a distributor.

This can circulate many times faster than the cylinder slide, so that if the above-mentioned pressure relief of the cylinder slide is applied by arranging opposite control slots, the use of the distributor slide located outside gives the possibility of opening and closing the unfavorably long opening and closing slides Reduce closing times to a favorable level.

The control constructions mentioned here have been used, each individually, so far only in normal internal combustion engines, i.e. in engines with normal crank gears, where the piston rod acts as a connecting rod.

The type of machine mentioned at the beginning with a swash plate drive, which, as I said, is particularly suitable for high numbers of revolutions, and consequently requires the use of a slide control, can now, if it is combined with the rotary slide control mentioned with the distribution slide arranged outside the cylinder, The advantages of this slide control work to the fullest.

An embodiment of the subject invention is shown in the drawings Darge.

Fig. 1 shows an axial section through half of the machine, Fig. 2 is a cross section and Fig. 3-6 is a cross section through a cylinder in various Stel lungs of the "control organs.

On the crooked crank 1 of the motor shaft 2, the swash plate 3 sits loosely with a wide hub, the pins 4 of which engage slidably in a joint 5 of the piston rods 6 which connect the pistons of the opposite, coaxial cylinders 7. The cylinder pairs 7 are arranged in a circle around the shaft 2).

A hollow cylinder slide 8 is mounted in each cylinder and is provided with two opposing control slots 9, 10; the part of the slide containing these control slots lies tightly in an annular space between the cylinder wall and the protruding into the cylinder part 11 of the cylinder cover 12, whereby a perfect seal of the cylinder slide valve 8 is possible, but then also a cooling of the combustion chamber lie lowing part of the cylinder slide 8, since this is between the cooled cylinder wall and the cooled cover; a risk to the edges of the control slots 9, 10 by the high explosion or United combustion temperature is thus prevented.

Each cylinder slide 8 is provided with a ring gear 13 on its part protruding from the cylinder. A ring gear 14 engages the ring gears 13 on one side. The whole system is driven from the front ring gear 13 of a lower cylinder, which is driven by a gear 16 of the control shaft 17 in a ratio of 2: 1, which in turn is rotated by the gears 18, 19 and 20 of the motor shaft 2 at half speed becomes.

In the space within the cylinder on each side of the machine, a distributor slide 21 with the hub 22 is attached to the 33 / photo shaft 2 in a manner not shown. This distributor slide has two departments 23, 24 which are separated from each other by the partitions 25, 26, the flaps 27 and 28 of the control of the cylinder channels 29 be provided.

The compartments 23 and 24 are channel-like and one is connected to the exhaust chamber 30 and the other to the intake chamber 31, so that when the flaps 27 and 28 of the dividing walls 25 and 26 of the distributor slide valve pass by the cylinder channels 29 these come into contact alternately with the intake chamber and the exhaust chamber. The number of revolutions of the distributor slide 21 is four times that of the cylinder slide B.

The cylinders 7 each have a further channel 32, which is connected to the exhaust chamber 30 in a manner not shown and which opens on the opposite side of the cylinder to the channel 29, in such a way that it is separated from the control slots 9, 10 of the cylinder clater 8 earlier is opened when the channel 29. In the extension of this channel 32, the part 11 of the cylinder cover protruding into the cylinder also has a channel 33. In addition, a channel 34 located in the extension of the channel 29 and a channel 35 are in the cover part 11 provided with an extension 36.

The machine works in four cycles. The mode of operation of the rotary valve control will be described with reference to Fig. 3-6.

In the position of the control organs at the end of the exhaust shown in Fig. 3, the control slot 10 of the cylinder slide 8 is located in the cylinder 7 in front of the cylinder channel: 29, but from the outside through the flap 28 of the partition wall 26 of the distributor slide 21 is still locked. Since the distributor slide 21 rotates faster than the cylinder slide, the flap 28 when rotating in the direction of the arrow will get the opening of the cylinder channel 29 faster than the closure of the channel 29 through the cylinder slide 8 it follows.

The suction period lasts until the control slot 10 of the cylinder slide 8 blocks the cylinder channel 29 (Fig. 4), where the flap 27 of the other separation wall 25 of the distributor slide 21 to the cylinder channel 29 has reached. The sucked-in charge is now compressed and ignited in the cylinder, does its work in the cylinder and expands, while the distributor slide 21 makes a full turn and the cylinder slide 8 a quarter turn.

Even before the end of the expansion stroke, the exhaust begins, because the machine works with pre-flow, which is especially necessary for high-speed machines in order to avoid compression in the first part of the exhaust stroke. Fig. 5 shows that position of the slide at which this pre-flow begins. The cylinder channel 29 is still blocked by the cylinder slide 8 and the flap 27 of the partition wall 2.5 of the distributor slide 21 only approaches the channel 29.

In contrast, the control slot 10 opens the pre-flow channel 32, and now the pre-flow begins through the channels 33 and 32. Fig. 6 shows the beginning of the exhaust stroke, which begins when the flap 27 is removed from the cylinder channel 29 and the control slot 9 of the cylinder slide 8 to the cylinder channel 29 comes up.

The channels 33 and 32 also remain open for a while through the control slot 10 when the exhaust stroke started, as can be seen from Fig. 6, so that a Nebenaus puff can take place through the channels 33 and 32 for a while, which is a great advantage with fast running machines.

As can be seen from Fig. 3, the closure of the cylinder channel 29 at the end of the exhaust period and the opening of the Zylin derkanals at the beginning of the intake period is taken care of by the distributor slide alone, while the channel 29 through the control slot of the pressure slide 8 towards the inside of the cylinder remains open through; so that the opening and closing of the channel is taken care of by the rapidly running distributor valve. The closing of the cylinder channel 29, as can be seen from FIG. 4, is also provided at the end of the suction period by the distributor slide.

During the compression and expansion stroke, if the channels 33 and 35 were not present, the pressure inside the cylinder through the channel 34 of the cover part 11 would burden the pressure slide over 8 on one side, which would impair the mechanical efficiency of the machine and would promote unfavorable wear and tear. In order to achieve complete relief, a channel 35 is arranged in the cover part 11 on the side of the axis of the channel 34 opposite the channel 33, which channel opens into an extension 36 that extends from the wall of the pressure slide 8 to the outside closed is.

The channels 33 and 35 are symmetrically arranged on the sides of the axis of the channel 34, the cross section of the extension 36 is equal to that of the channel 33 and the sum of the cross sections of the channel 33 and the extension 36 is greater than the cross section of the channel 34, so that a complete pressure relief of the cylinder slide switch 8 is achieved. This relief can of course also be achieved if the channel 35 is not arranged symmetrically to the channel 33, but in this case the cross section of the enlargement 36 should be dimensioned so that the resultant of the three pressures in question is zero.

Even if this equilibrium is disturbed, so that the cylinder slide releases a control channel or the extension 36, the one-sided loading of the slide can never be so great from the inside that a considerable impairment of the mechanical efficiency could result.

In any case, the pre-flow channel 33 offers the opportunity to completely relieve the pressure of the slide and makes the arrangement of two opposing control slots of the cylinder slide 8 necessary, whereby its speed is advantageously reduced, while the high number of revolutions of the distributor slide a direct drive from the motor shaft, which is achieved in the simplest way in that a common distributor slide is used for all cylinders on one side.
