Description

Volet roulant.

Roller shutter. This invention relates to a rolling shutter, the blades of which are assembled by means of chains, requiring no rivets, screws or fasteners of any kind. These chains are made up of identical elements which are articulated directly on each other, without the need to use any tool. By multiplying the number of elements thus articulated, it is possible to constitute a chain of any length, which, if necessary, can be instantly connected to the two ends, so as to form an endless chain, a collar, etc.

Each element of the chain is made up of a single part consisting of a plate having at each end a bar rette, and over a certain length a hole. This plate is folded back on itself so that the two bars coincide and that at the place of the fold, two loops are formed in which the ends of the superimposed bars of the next element can be engaged, thanks to the hole made. in the blister pack.

In the accompanying drawing, given by way of example: FIG. 1 shows a part of chain seen from one side; .

Fic. 2 is the view from the opposite side; Fig. 3 represents a developed element; Fig. 4 shows the same element folded up and seen from one side; Fig. 5 is the view of the other side of the folded element; Fig. 6 is a side view, FIG. 7, a section on 1-A (fig. 5); Fig. 8 is a sectional view of a part of a roller shutter according to the invention; Fig. 9 is a front view.

Ires elements of the chain are formed by means of a plate 1 (fig. 3) of metal or other key cut material so as to present at each end a bar la, lb, a T-shaped hole lc being, of on the other hand, swam in the wafer. The plate is then folded so as to superimpose the bars = La, lb, and to form two loops at the location of the folded part (fig. 4 to 7).

Oven assemble the various elements we bring closely the bars la and lb of one element and they are introduced from the side in the widest part of the hole 1c 'of another element, then we bring them into the interior of the loops of the latter (fig. 3).

It is thus possible to assemble any number of elements and if necessary unite the two end elements of a chain thus formed.

The bars 11 and 1b may have a half-round section so as to form a round axis when they are assembled.

The hole could also extend to both sides of the folded pad and be in the shape of a double T or any other shape suitable for the stated purpose.

To mount the rolling shutter (fig. 8 and 9), a straight cut is made in the slats 2 of this shutter, parallel to the front and rear faces of the slat and of sufficient width for the passage of the chain elements. An element is then introduced into the lower blade and it is assembled with a second element. The latter is then passed through the second strip, then it is assembled with a third element and so on.

We see that once it has passed through the shutter blades, the chain cannot be unhooked in any way or by any means. The shutters are therefore absolutely inviolable. On the other hand, the chain is completely invisible and protected from paint, dust and humidity. There is therefore no risk of oxidizing or seizing up. Its assembly is quick and easy. It does not require screws, spikes or claws and does not give rise to any apparent notches. The chain, solid3 and light, gives the maximum flexibility to the winding.
