Description

Tape in cellulosic material. The object of the present invention is a strip of cellulosic material, consisting of a blade cut from a sheet of said material. The longitudinal edges of this tape are formed by folding the edges of said blade without these folded parts being glued to the blade,. so that they leave air layers between them and the blade which give the tape a special appearance.

The blades obtained by cutting, if by fact that the cutting device is, always present on the edges of small notches, visible or not under the microscope, which constitute as many weak points facilitating the breaking of the blade, when it is works on extension, for example when these blades have been woven, or when embroidery or knitting work has been carried out with them.

To overcome this drawback, the ribbons according to the invention are formed by means of these strips of cellulose material. This can be done as follows: Example 1: . One of the longitudinal edges of the cut blade, with a width equal to about a third of the total width of the blade, is folded over the entire length of the latter and folded over the latter, without being glued to it. The other of the longitudinal edges of said wool, of the same width as the first, is then folded over, over the entire length of the blade also and so as to fall back on the first edge already folded over.

This second longitudinal edge of the blade is not glued to the edge on which it is folded either, so that there are, between these various parts folded over one another, layers of air which, according to their thickness, give a special appearance to the tape thus obtained, which according to what has just been said above, will in this embodiment have a width equal to about a third of the total width of the blade used for its formation . The edges of the tape thus formed are absolutely free from the defects mentioned above. Example 2: The two longitudinal edges of the blade are folded over the same face of the blade, over a width equal to approximately a quarter of the total width of said blade.

In this way, a tape is obtained, the width of which is equal to approximately half the width of the blade and of which the edges, not glued to the blade, are also free from the defects mentioned above.

Example 3: The tape obtained in the second example is folded in half, along the longitudinal direction, folding in the same direction as that in which the edges of the blade were folded. In this way, a tape is obtained having four thicknesses of the cellulosic material strip, folded over one another, but not glued, and leaving between them layers of air giving a special appearance to the tape. Light, in fact, passing through the different thicknesses of cellulosic material and the different layers of air, the density of which is not the same as that of said cellulosic material, undergoes various refractions which completely modify the appearance of the cellulosic material. blade.

By combining various thicknesses of slats in this way or by combining, by superposition, different ribbons on fabrics of different types, it is possible to obtain decorative effects that are absolutely impossible to achieve with a single layer of said cellulosic material, whatever the nature of the material. 'thickness.

The tape which is the subject of the invention can be used in isolation and serve as an application on any support; thanks to its resistance it can be used for weaving, embroidery, knitting, like an ordinary ribbon. It can also receive any color, can be embossed, impressed, etc., and these decorative actions can obviously be carried out on one or both sides of the tape, which can have all the widths, thicknesses and lengths that are available. want, its longitudinal edges being obtained by all folding modes.
