Steering wheel for vehicles. The invention relates to a steering wheel for vehicles, especially for those with four wheels placed at the tops of a rhombus. According to the invention, the wheel is arranged to pivot around a linear axis located in the median plane of the wheel which is provided with a to wedge ball bearing carrying an internal ring and a pair of external rings forming an annular cavity with four inclined contact faces for the balls which have their centers in a common plane coinciding with the median plane of the wheel,
the set of rings being closed between two half-boxes joined together and having side housings to allow slight inclinations with respect to to the axle, a control lever for changing direction being set to these d half-boxes.
This wheel has the particular advantage that its ball bearing can withstand forces and thrusts in all directions and can easily be adjusted when the balls or rings are worn.
Two embodiments of the object of the invention are shown to by way of example in the appended drawing in which: FIG. 1 is a section along the axis of the hub of a first ' embodiment; Fig. 2 is an exterior front view; Fig. 3 is a section of the middle box; Fig. 4 shows the method of attaching the steel spokes to the hub; Fig. 5 shows the method of attaching the spokes according to a second embodiment with wooden spokes.
Fig. 1 shows a partial section of a wheel with ball bearings formed by an internal ring 1 and by a pair of external rings 2 which contain a crown of balls 3 offering to these four inclined contact and working faces, rings of dimensions such to < / B> be able to include the articulation pivots 4 internally and placed in a position such that the axis of said articulation pivots coincides with the common plane of the centers of the balls; 5 represents a cage, intended to maintain at equal distances the balls from each other, as is practiced in all to ball bearings of this kind.
