Water pipe shutter summer. The object of the invention is a shutter for water pipes etc., comprising a movable closure member which can be engaged on the end of a tubular part in order to close it off,. 'orifice. It is characterized in that this closure member comprises a conical at least approaching recess, into which penetrates, through a part, of corresponding shape, and when the shutter is closed, said tubular part.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows, partly in section and partly in elevation, a first embodiment; Fig. 2 shows partially in section, the second embodiment constituting a valve.
In the first embodiment shown, the shutter comprises a movable shutter member 1, mounted on a connector 2 by means of a sleeve 3 screwed onto a sleeve 2 'of the connector, and a nut 4.
The closure member 1 has a threaded portion 5 which is engaged -in a threaded portion of the sleeve 3 and integral with the shank of a key 6. As a result, the member can be raised and lowered. shutter 1 using key 6.
The lower part of the member 1 forms a head which is adjusted and guided in the sleeve 2 '; this head has a core in which "is crimped an annular gasket 7, made of rubber, for example, the opening of which is flared towards the outside of the core so that the head of the closure member has a recess 8 at least approximating, .chant conical.- Below the closure member 1 is arranged a nozzle 9 of the connector 2, the orifice communicates with the inlet channel of the connector and can, of on the other hand, communicate with the channel, output from this fitting,
when the shutter is open, by the annular part 10 communicating with the outlet duct. When the closure member 1 is lowered, the head of the latter is lowered onto the nozzle 9, the rounded end of which engages in the recess 8 of the member 1. L The orifice of the nozzle is therefore sealed off, as shown in FIG. 1.
But if the closure member is raised, the orifice of the nozzle enters into communication with the annular part 10, so that the fluid can pass through the connection 2.
The shutter described is perfectly sealed, thanks to the particular construction of the shutter members. Since the gasket 7 is tapered on the inside, it is very durable and seals until it is fully worn.
The embodiment represented by the fi-. 2 is a water intake valve conforming to â. invention. It offers nothing in particular compared to the embodiment which has just been described. 0 distinguishes the shutter member 1. the body 2 of the valve comprising the inlet and outlet conduits of the fluid; nozzle 9; finally the, trim 7 and the recess 8 of the. threaded head, of the obturating member. .
