Device for producing air scarcity on part of a patient's skin. The object of the invention is a device for producing rarefaction of the air on part of the skin of a patient; this positive is characterized in that it comprises a container intended to be applied to the patient's skin and a pump for creating a vacuum in this container.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the invention, as well as three variants.
Fig. 1 shows, in axial vertical section, this embodiment; figs. 2, 3 and 4 show details, on a larger scale; fig. 5 relates to the first variant; figs. 6, 7 and 8, to the second, and fig. 9.
10 and 11, to the third. _ The embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 4 comprises a glass container, cylindrical, 1, and a pump 8: the container is intended to be applied to the skin of the patient through the wide opening which it presents at its lower part; at its upper part, it is fitted with a tubing \ ?, covered with a rubber membrane 3 and which is shown at plus large scale in fig. 2, 3 and 4, in plan, in elevation and in axial vertical section, respectively.
On the end of the neck of this tubing are formed grooves 5 forming channels; the membrane 3 has a rim surrounding the end of said neck and which does not penetrate into the above-mentioned channels 5, so that the latter cause the interior of the container 1 to communicate with the atmosphere.
The pump 8 comprises a cylinder in which moves a pressed leather piston 7. 9 is a rubber ring which is placed on the container and on which the pump body rests.
The operation of this embodiment is as follows: After having placed the receptacle 1 on the patient's body and the pump on the receptacle, in the position shown in FIG. 1, we pull the pis-. tone 6 up; this piston sucks in the air contained in the container 1; when it is at the top of its course, it can be made ashes again; the air contained in the pump body then passes above the piston plate, thanks to the crimped leather 7. Once the vacuum has been created in the container 1, the atmospheric pressure prevailing above the membrane 3 applies it. opposite the inner wall of the duct of the. tubing, which cuts off the communication between the interior of the container 1 and the atmosphere.
The neck of the tubing could be smooth, instead of having the grooves 5; it would then be the membrane which, on the inner wall of its rim, would present the grooves.
In the variant of FIG. 5, on the neck of the tubing 2 is arranged the rubber membrane 3; the latter has holes 13 arranged in the part of the. membrane which surmounts the flat surface 7.1 terminating the tubing; between this part and this surface 11 is provided a space 10. When the pump is operated, the latter sucks the air contained in the container 1 through the holes 13 and the space 14; once the vacuum has been created in the container, the atmospheric pressure applies the membrane 3 against the wall of the duct of the tubing and thus interrupts the. communication between the container and the atmosphere.
In the variant of FIGS. 6, 7 and 8, the tubing 2 of the container 1 is closed by a rubber disc 14a held in place on the tubing by means of a metal cage 15 having a central orifice 17 as well as teeth 16 which hold it on. the neck of the tubing. When the pump is operating, it sucks the air from the container 1 through the hole 1.7 and through the gap left between the disc 14a and its seat. Once the vacuum has been created in the container, the external atmospheric pressure applies the disc to this seat.
In the. embodiment of fig. 9. 10 d il, the tubing 2 of the container 1 is closed by a membrane 18 pierced with holes 19 and a bead maintains on the neck of the tubing. The air is also drawn in through the holes 19 and, when the vacuum is created in the container 1. la. atmospheric pressure appli that the. membrane on the flat face terminating the tubing.
