Description

  Col rabattu.

  La     fig.    1 est une vue schématique de cer  taines parties d'un métier à tisser pour la  fabrication d'un tissu pour la confection de  cols;         tees        fig.    2 et 3 eu     sont    des vues de détails;      La     fig.    4 est une coupe longitudinale à  travers le tissu d'une première forme d'exécu  tion, représentée schématiquement;  La     fig.    5 en est une coupe transversale;  La     fig.    6 est une vue de face d'une pièce  de tissu, avec parties arrachées;  La     fig.    7 en est une vue     schématique    en  perspective;

    La fig. 8 montre un col établi suivant le procédé qui fait partie de l'invention; La fig. 9 montre la manière de découper un col dans une pièce de tissu.

  La     fig.    10 montre le col découpé;  La fia. 11 montre le col fini prêt à être  plié;  La     fig.    12 est une coupe longitudinale à  travers le tissu d'une deuxième forme d'exé  cution représentée schématiquement;  La     fig.    13 en est une coupe transversale;  La     fig.14    est une coupe transversale,  analogue à la     fig.    13, de la troisième forme  d'exécution;

    En référence aux fig. 1 à 3 le métier à tisser, un tissu pour la fabrication de cols comporte des ensouples 1 portant les fils de chaîne et des fils de liaison; ces fils passent sur des barres de. guidage 2, à travers un châssis d'espacement 3, sur des barres de guidage 4 et dans des remisses 6. Chaque fil de chaîne et de liaison, après avoir passé dans les boucles de support de la remisse 6 passe dans le peigne 7 supporté par un bat tant 8. Le tissu est complètement formé en 9 et passe de là sur une tige de guidage 10 disposée en biais par rapport à la direction des fils de chaîne. Il passe ensuite sur deux galets de tension 11 et 12 coniques et s'en roule ensuite sur un ensoupleau 13.

  Turn-down collar. The invention includes a turn-down collar made from a web woven fabric with the outer and inner portions made from strips of the fabric comprising plural layers of fabric and a method of making such a collar.

  In this collar, the layers of fabric are linked together by weaving, and the warp threads of the fabric follow, when the latter is laid flat, a curved line, those of the outer part of the collar being longer than those of the interior part; with the aim that the neck takes on itself a curved shape when these two parts are folded over one another, these two parts being furthermore connected to each other by an intermediate part, corresponding to a strip of the fabric with a weaker texture than the others, on which the fold is formed.

  According to the method forming part of the present invention, a piece of fabric is woven comprising three strips of fabric, two of which are intended to form respectively the outer and inner parts of the collar are woven in several layers of fabric connected together by binding yarns, these two bands being connected together by an intermediate band of less strong texture, and this weaving being carried out so that when the piece of fabric is laid flat, these warp yarns follow a curved line, in addition one cut out the contours of the collar in this piece of fabric in such a way that when the two parts of the collar are folded over one another,

   the fold is formed on the middle band and in such a way that the warp threads on the outer part of the collar are longer than those on the inner part, so that the collar itself takes on a curved shape when folded .

  The appended drawing represents, by way of examples, three embodiments of the object of the invention, as well as a way of carrying out the process.

  Fig. 1 is a schematic view of certain parts of a loom for the manufacture of a fabric for making collars; tees fig. 2 and 3 are detail views; Fig. 4 is a longitudinal section through the fabric of a first embodiment, shown schematically; Fig. 5 is a cross section thereof; Fig. 6 is a front view of a piece of fabric, with parts broken away; Fig. 7 is a schematic perspective view;

    Fig. 8 shows a neck made according to the method which forms part of the invention; Fig. 9 shows how to cut a collar from a piece of fabric.

  Fig. 10 shows the cutout collar; The fia. 11 shows the finished collar ready to be folded; Fig. 12 is a longitudinal section through the fabric of a second embodiment shown schematically; Fig. 13 is a cross section thereof; Fig. 14 is a cross section, similar to fig. 13, of the third embodiment;

    With reference to fig. 1 to 3 the loom, a fabric for the manufacture of collars comprises beams 1 carrying the warp threads and binding threads; these wires pass over bars. guide 2, through a spacer frame 3, on guide bars 4 and in sheds 6. Each chain and link wire, after passing through the support loops of the shed 6 passes through the comb 7 supported by a bat as 8. The fabric is completely formed at 9 and from there passes over a guide rod 10 arranged at an angle to the direction of the warp threads. It then passes over two conical tension rollers 11 and 12 and then rolls on a beam 13.

  The conical tension rollers are shown in fig. 2 and have dimensions such that the fabric strip produced has a predetermined length greater on one side than on the other. This lengthening of one of the sides with respect to the other is obtained by virtue of the guide rod 10 and of the conical rollers which cause the warp threads to advance through the rebates in proportion to the air surrounding the conical rollers. Although the tension rollers act on the finished fabric, the effect of the tension which they produce is felt on the warp threads before the weft threads have been introduced between them to form the fabric and consequently their action. takes place on the tissue at the time of its formation.

  Figs. 4 to 7 schematically show an embodiment of fabric prepared according to the process forming part of the invention.

  With reference to FIG. 4 showing a fabric with three layers of fabric, it can be seen that the weft threads 17 of the upper and lower layers are woven with warp threads 18 while the weft threads 19 of the middle fabric are woven with warp threads 20. The upper layer and the middle layer of the fabric are connected to each other by binding threads 21, while the middle and lower layers are connected together by binding threads 22. The fabric thus formed therefore comprises three layers firmly linked together. to others and has a firm texture.

  The section of FIG. 5 is taken at right angles to that of FIG. 4 and shows the tramp threads 17 of the upper and lower layers with the warp threads 18 and the warp threads 20 of the middle layer woven with the weft threads 19. We also see the connecting threads 21 and 22 assembling the lower and upper layers to the middle layer. In fig. 5. It is seen that eight of the warp threads 20 of the middle fabric layer are omitted and that the warp threads 19 pass straight across without being secured. The result of this arrangement is that the fabric has a weakened part allowing easy folding.

  In fig. 6, the fabric is shown with cutouts to show the warp threads 20 and the location 23 of the middle layer where the warp threads have been removed and the weft threads pass through without being woven. Fig. 7 shows a piece of fabric produced according to the method forming part of the invention and having two bands 24 connected to one another by a band of less strong texture 25. FIGS. 12 and 13 show schematically an embodiment of fabric prepared according to the invention.

  With reference to FIG. 12 saw that the weft threads 17 of the lower and upper layers are interwoven with the warp threads 18, while the warp threads 20 are arranged longitudinally between the two layers and are held in place by binding threads. 21.

  The section of FIG. 13 is taken at right angles to that of FIG. 18 and shows the weft threads 17 of the upper and lower layers interwoven with the warp threads 18, the warp threads 20 passing between the two layers of the fabric. At the place designated by the number 23, a number of warp threads 20 are removed which produces a weakened part in the fabric. In the particular arrangement shown in FIG. 13, eight of these warp threads are removed.

   The formation of the weakened portion in this way does not affect the upper and lower layers of the fabric which continues to present an uninterrupted and finished appearance.

  The fabric shown in cross section in FIG. 14 has a weakened part formed in a different way than in the previous form. This fabric also has two layers, the upper one woven with warp threads 29 and weft threads 30, the lower one comprising warp threads 31 and weft threads 32. Between the upper and lower layers are located warp yarns 33. The weakened part of the fabric is obtained by removing the yarns 33 and by combining the yarns forming the upper and lower layers so as to form a single layer of fabrics having twice the amount of warp and weft yarns.

   The fabric thus prepared is very dense and very firm at the fold, so that it has good qualities for resisting wear.

  From the above it follows that the fabric wound on the beam 13 consists of three strips of fabric; two bands 15 and 16 with a strong texture and a band 14 connecting them and which has a lower texture. The difference in the speed of advance of the warp threads during weaving caused by the conical rollers 11 and 12 causes these threads to follow a curved line in a piece of this fabric unrolled and laid flat. For the same number of weft threads, a piece of fabric will therefore have a part 15 that is longer than part 16. The part with a weaker texture connecting them, also following a curved line, as can be seen in FIG. . 9.

   The binding threads are distributed over the surface of the fabric, taking special care that there is a single binding thread at each of the edges of the space 23 (fig. 5) where a certain number of warp threads are. removed in order to produce the weakened part.

  To prepare a neck, a cut is made from a piece as shown in FIG. 9, following the dotted line a, a neck as shown in FIG. 10. This neck is then provided with a flange 28 as indicated in FIG. 11.

  As seen in fig. 9, the outer part of the collar is cut from part 15 of the piece of fabric, which part is on the outer periphery of this strip of fabric. This outer part of the collar has a greater width than the inner part, and since the weakened part 14 also follows a curved line, the collar when folded along this line, of itself takes a shape as shown in Fig. fig. 8.

  The fabric with which the collar is made can have more than three layers and these layers can be made at least in part of different materials from each other, and having different degrees of fineness.

  It is also understood that the weakened or folded part of the collar can be obtained other than by removing a number of warp threads in the intermediate layer of the fabric, for example by omitting threads from one of the outer layers. or else both of one of the outer layers and of the intermediate layer. This weakening of additional layers may be desirable when it is desired to have an even greater weakening of the weakened or folded portion, for example when more than three layers of fabrics are woven together.

  The width of the weakened portion 23 may vary.
