Messband.
Fig. 5 eine Einzelheit einer Variante.
Measuring tape. The measuring tapes commonly used in tailoring and construction, for example, are made of oilcloth and finished tapes and have the disadvantage that they have a relatively high elasticity.
The subject of the invention is now a measuring tape, which for the purpose of eliminating that disadvantage as possible. Has a strip made of celluloid. Or: a mass similar to this. Such a material has less elasticity than fabric, is not brittle and yet sufficiently pliable.
The accompanying drawings illustrate several exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention. 1 shows a first example, FIG. 2 shows a second example, FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section to FIG. 2 through one end of the tape, FIG. 4 shows a larger-scale cross-section to FIG. 2,
5 shows a detail of a variant. According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the measuring tape is formed by a single strip 1. This consists of celluloid or a similar mass, such as cellite or cellon, and is printed on one side with the scale. The transparency of the measuring tape is a great advantage for various work purposes.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 2 to 4, a hose 2 forms the carrier of the scale, which is printed on the hose. A strip of celluloid or a similar mass is housed in the fabric hose 2 for stiffening and is firmly connected to the fabric hose at the ends with the help of a metal reinforcement piece 4 and an eyelet 5,
so YES the length of the latter matches that of the stiffening insert. With a longitudinal seam of the hose 2 is designated, which consists only of a folded. There is a strip of fabric, the longitudinal edges of which are sewn together.
The insert strip 3 can be multilayered and, for example, as is taken from FIG. 5, consist of three layers $, 3a, 3b.
