Description
The invention relates to a method of producing semi-killed steel in steelworks, in which the so-called balanced type of steel is achieved by partial deoxidation of the steel in the ladle followed by further calming of the steel to a semi-killed state.
Until now, the production of semi-killed steel has been carried out in such a way that the steel is deoxidized in the ladle with ferromanganese Fe Mn or ferromanganese and aluminum Fe Mn + Al, or ferrosilicon Fe Si, and the steel is further calmed to a semi-killed state in the molds during casting with solid aluminum. In this way, it is difficult to achieve a balanced type of semi-killed steel. In order for solid aluminum to be used for the reaction in the steel after being added to the mold, it must first be melted, and this requires a certain time interval. Its use in the further calming of steel in the molds at the end of casting or after casting ingots is not very effective and uneconomical. Part of the added solid aluminum, whether in the form of finely chopped grit or small granules, always forms an aluminum sinter floating on the surface of the steel, which no longer participates in the reaction in the steel, and this aluminum is not used for the further calming process. Since the situation is different for each ingot, the degree of steel quenching varies from ingot to ingot. Ingots are then either of the under-equilibrium type or the over-equilibrium type, depending on how much of the added aluminum reaches the reaction in the steel and how much remains in the form of a sintered floating piece on the surface of the steel. The equilibrium type of semi-quieted steel is achieved randomly and only rarely. The production of semi-quieted steel using solid aluminum to quench the steel in Ikoikila to a semi-quieted state is difficult to control.
The above-mentioned shortcomings are eliminated by the method of producing semi-killed steel according to the invention, after prior partial deoxidation of the steel in a ladle with solid aluminum. The essence of the invention lies in the fact that liquid aluminum is poured onto the surface of the steel in a mold after casting the ingot.
Pokud dojde Ik protržení vybouleného vršku ingotu a vytékání oceli, je to známkou nedostatečného' uklidnění oceli a u následujícího Ingotu nutno dávku přidávaného množství tekutého hliníku zvýšit. The speed of casting ingots does not differ from the commonly established practice, in some cases it is advantageous to cast this steel at higher casting speeds. After casting individual ingots, liquid aluminum is poured into the mold onto the steel surface with a ladle, which is melted in advance in a melting furnace installed near the ingot casting, preferably on a casting platform. The amount of liquid aluminum added depends on the degree of previous partial deoxidation of the steel in the ladle. After pouring aluminum, the steel in the mold initially sparks. The sparking stops after a few seconds and the steel surface of the ingot quickly solidifies. Due to the influence of the gas pressure generated during the fading carbon reaction, the upper part of the ingot then bulges, which is a sign of correctly performed deoxidation and the achievement of a balanced type of semi-killed steel. If the bulging top of the ingot ruptures and steel flows out, this is a sign of insufficient steel cooling and the amount of liquid aluminum added for the next ingot must be increased. A small amount of steel flowing out onto the surface of the ingot is not a defect and does not affect the size of the billet cut-off at the rolling mills. If the center of the upper surface of the ingot is less depressed, this means that more aluminum was poured in than was necessary. In this case, the amount of liquid aluminum added for the next ingot is reduced. In this way, all ingots are cast.
Semi-calm steel can also be produced in such a way that partial deoxidation of the steel with aluminum in the ladle is not performed and the deoxidation of the steel to a semi-calm state is performed only in the molds by adding all the necessary amount of aluminum in liquid form. The added amount of aluminum in this case will be larger. In the case of production of steel with a prescribed silicon content, the necessary amount of ferrosilicon Fe Si is added to the ladle and the steel is further calmed to a semi-calm state after casting the ingots in the molds with liquid aluminum in the manner described above.
K bližšímu osvětlení podstaty vynálezu jsou dále uvedeny příklady provedení způsobu výroby polouklidněné oceli, jakož i dosažené výsledky. To further illustrate the essence of the invention, examples of the method for producing semi-killed steel, as well as the results achieved, are given below.
The above-mentioned production method was verified on five steel smeltings. The weight of each smelting was around 260 tons, and approximately 26 ingots with an average weight of 10 tons were cast from one smelting.
Chemické složení pokusných taveb bylo toto:The chemical composition of the experimental melts was as follows:

Částečná desoxidace oceli pak byla provedena housenkovým hliníkem postupně přihrazovaným do pánve během odpichu v množství 0,42 kg/t při obsahu uhlíku v poslední zkoušce 0,07 % 0,37 kg/t v poslední zkoušce 0,09 %The melts were produced in NS furnaces. During tapping, all the prescribed ferromanganese was first poured into the ladle. Partial deoxidation of the steel was then carried out with aluminum pellets gradually added to the ladle during tapping in an amount of 0.42 kg/t with a carbon content in the last test of 0.07% 0.37 kg/t in the last test of 0.09%

až 5 s. po odlití jednotlivých ingotů v množství cca 0,1 až 0,3 kg/t. Množství přidávaného tekutého hliníku u jednotlivých ingotů se řídilo podle jiskření oceli a tvaru horní části předchozího odlitého ingotu. Zásadou bylo, aby jiskření trvalo okolo 30 s a utuhlá horní část ingotu, hladina oceli, byla vyboulena.up to 5 s. after casting individual ingots in an amount of approximately 0.1 to 0.3 kg/t. The amount of liquid aluminum added to individual ingots was controlled by the sparking of the steel and the shape of the upper part of the previously cast ingot. The principle was that the sparking lasted about 30 s and the solidified upper part of the ingot, the steel surface, was bulged.
Ingolty měly setrvání v kokilách 60 minut, na válcovně byly ingoty válcovány běžným způsobem do sochorů o průměru 108 mm,The ingots were kept in the molds for 60 minutes, and in the rolling mill they were rolled in the usual way into billets with a diameter of 108 mm,

The advantage of the method of producing semi-killed steel according to the invention is the easy controllability of the post-calming process in the molds. The controllability of this method of post-calming steel is ensured by the perfect use of the entire added amount of liquid aluminum. Aluminum reacts immediately after it is poured onto the steel surface, which allows post-calming to be carried out only after the ingot has been cast. Post-calming steel in the molds after the ingot has been cast is easy to perform and guarantees the achievement of a balanced type of semi-calmed steel. Since aluminum sinters do not form on the surface, the consumption of liquid aluminum for post-calming is less than when using solid aluminum. This method is therefore also more economically advantageous.
