Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a la minería, más específicamente a procesos de tratamiento de minerales lateríticos. La misma se relaciona con un método para la obtención de aglomerados metálicos caracterizado porque comprende los pasos de (a) proporcionar uno o más óxidos u una o más sales de metal seleccionadas del grupo que consiste de hidróxido de níquel, hidróxido de cobalto, combinacióbn de hidróxido de níquel-cobalto, carbonato de níquel, carbonato de cobalto y combinación de carbonato de níquel-cobalto; (b) mezclar el óxido y la sal de metal con un aglomerante; (c) incluir en la mezcla uno o más aditivos fluidos; (d) formar la mezcla en aglomerados; (e) secar los aglomerados; y (f) calcinar los aglomerados secos. El aglomerado de óxido metálico comprende de 77 a 82 % en peso de un óxido de metal elegido de un grupo formado por óxido de níquel, óxido de cobalto, y de 18 a 23% en peso de escoria caracterizado porque el óxido de metal está encapsulado en la escoria.
