gesellschaftliches Interesse besteht. In den meisten Fällen, zum Beispiel bei Weizen, Mais, RoIs, Soja oder Baumwollo, ist es das

2iol der Erfindung ist es daher, ein vorbossortes herbicides Mittel bereitzustellen.
Im Laufe eigener herbologischer Versuche wurdo überraschenderweise gefunden, daß die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen herbicld wesentlich stärker und selektiver wirksam sind als die bisher bekannten Strukturanalogen, wie das (RS)-T-Äthoxycarbonyläthyl-2-brom-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoat (Verbindung A), das im Handel erhältliche (RS)-V-Äthoxycarbonyläthyl-2-nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoat (Verbindung B, 8. EP-PA 0020052 A1) oder die R-Antipoden dor erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen, wie (R)-1'-Methoxycarbonyläthyl-2-chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphenoxy)-benzoat (Verbindung C) und das (R)-1'-Äthoxycarbonyläthyl-2-chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoat (Verbindung D), die bei den Untersuchungen als Standarde verwendet wurden.
Ausführliche herbologischö Untersuchungen zeigten überraschenderweise, daß bei den Standardverbindungen die Dosen, die zum ErzU len einer mehr als 90%igen herbicidon Wirkung erforderlich sind (Tabelle 1), nahe bei den Selektivilätsschwellenworton (Tabelle 2) der einzelnen Unkräuter, bzw. Kulturpflanzen liegen, im Gegensatz dazu jedoch von den vier erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen zum Erzielen der gleichen herbiziden Wirkung nur der 3. bis 10. Teil dieser Dosen benötigt wird (Tabelle 1), und auch dor Soleklivitätsschwellenwort der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen (d.h. die von der Kulturpflanze noch ohne Schaden tolerierte Menge) 2-4mal so hoch ist wie der der Standards (Tabelle 2). Die in den Tabellen mit den Abkürzungen a-f beziehungsweise g-j bezeichneten Unkräuter beziehungsweise Kulturpflanzen sind in Beispiel 10 angegeben. Die Ergebnisse für die neuen Vorbindungen sind auch deshalb überraschend, weil bei den Standards A, B, C und D die für oinon über 90% liegenden herbiziden Effekt erforderliche Dosis dicht am Selektivitätsschwellenwert liegt, d. h. die Verwendung dieser Vorbindungen zur Unkrautvernichtung in Pflanzenkulturen ein zweifelhaftes Ergebnis haben kann. Für don Fachmann ist ferner überraschend, daß die in 2-Stellung durch Chlor substituierten Verbindungen 1-4 um vieles wirksamer sind als die Nitroderivato.
In Kenntnis der horbiziden Wirksamkeit und dos Selektivitätsschwellenwertes der neuen Verbindungen kann- insbesondere auf Grund des herbologischen Verhaltens der Verbindungen A, B, C und D- festgestellt werden, daß die herausragende, für den Fachmann überraschende herbizide Wirkung und der Selektivitätsschwellenwert, dos weiteren dio sich aus dem Zusammenhang dieser beiden Faktoren ergebende ausgezeichnete Anwendbarkeit der neuen Verbindungen bisher nicht erkannt wordon sind. Die Erfindung betrifft also ein herbizides Mittel, das in einer Menge von 0,01-95,0 Masseanteilen in % das S-Enantiomere odor das Racemat einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (I) (worin R für Methyl odor Äthyl steht) enthält, zusammen mit einem oder mehreren festen und/oder flüssigen Trägor- und Streckmitteln, vorzugsweise in Form von Gesteinsmehl oder eines Mahlgutes synthetischer Stoffe, oder von inerten Lösungsmitteln, vorzugsweise Xylol(en) und/oder Cyclohexanon. Gegebenenfalls kann das Mittel noch oberflächenaktive Stoffe, vorzugsweise anionische und/oder nichtionische Emulgier- oder Dispergiermittel enthalten.
Die Erfindung betrifft ferner ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der S-Enantiomeren oder Racemate der Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel (I) (worin R für Methyl oder Äthyl steht), bei dem man
(a) das S-Enantiomere oder das Racemat eines Milchsäureester der aligemeinen Formel (II), worin R für Methyl oder Äthyl steht, in einem Lösungsmittel, vorzugsweise in Gegenwprt eines Säurebindemittels, mit wenigstens der stöchiometrischen Menge eines 2-Chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phonox/)-benzoylhalogenids, zweckmäßig des Chlorids umsetzt oder
b) das Enantiomere oder das Racemat eines Alkyl-2-halogenproplonats der allgemeinen Formel (III), worin R für Methyl oder Äthyl steht und Hai Chlor oder Brom bedeutet, In einem Lösungsmittel, zweckmäßig In Gegenwart einer Aza-Verbindung, wie 1,6-Dlazablcyclo /5A0./undec-5-en (DBU), mit 2-Chlor-6-(2-chlor-4-trlfluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoesäure umsetzt, das erhaltene S-Enantlomero bzw. Racomat dor Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (I) in an sich bekannter Welso abtrennt, gewUnschtenfalls das Racemat einer Vorbindung dor allgemeinen Formol (I) in seine optischen Isomeren zerlogt und das erhaltene S-Enantiomore bzw. Racemat gowünschtenfalls weiter reinigt.
Dio zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen verwendeten Ausgangsstoffe sind bekannte Verbindungen. Die Herstellung der 2TChlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-bonzoesäure und ihres Chlorids ist in US-PS Nr.3957852 boschrieben. (RS)- und (S)-Milcheäure, ihre Methyl- und Äthyloster sowie die Methyl- und Äthylester dor (RS)-2-Halogonpropionate sind handelsübliche Vorbindungen.
Für die Reaktionen kann als Lösungsmittel Jodes beliebige inerte Lösungsmittel, so zum Bolspiol Pentan, Hexan, Heptan, Cyclohexan, Petroläthor, Benzin, Llgroin, Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Dichlormethan, Dichloräthan, Chloroform, Tetrachlorkohlenstoff, Chlorbenzol, o-Dichlorbonzol, Dläthyläthor, Dibutyläther, Äthylenglycoldimethyläther, Tetrahydrofuran, Diozan, Aceton, Methylethylketon, Methylisopropylketon, Methylisobutylketon, Methylacetat, Äthylacetat, Acetonitril, Propionitril, DMF, N-Methylpyrrolldon, Dimothylsulfoxyd, Tetramothylsulfon, Hexamethylphosphorsäuretrlamid, verv/endet worden. Als Säurebindemittel kommen Alkalimetallhydroxyde, -hydrogencarbonate, -carbonate, -olkoholato, ferner aliphatische, aromatische oder heterocyclische Amine in Frage.
Gemäß einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform des erflndungsgemäßen Verfahrens werden dio Auegangsstoffe in etwa äquimolarem Verhältnis bei Temperaturen zwischen -2O0C und dem Siedepunkt des Reaktionsgemisches umgesetzt. Bevorzugt wird die Lösung des 2-Chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoylchlorids beziehungsweise der 2-Chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoesäure bei Temperaturen zwischen -20 und 35°C portionsweise zugesetzt. Nach Beendigung der Zugabe wird das Gemisch noch bis zum Erreichen des gewünschten Umsotzungsgrades am Rückfluß gerührt. Nach dem Abkühlen wird das Gemisch mit verdünnter Säure, verdünnter Lauge und dann mit Wasser gewaschen, und die Phasen werden voneinander getrennt. Das Produkt kann mit joder beliebigen bekannten Methode, zum Beispiel durch Eindampfen, abgetrennt worden.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Mittel können vor dem Auflaufen (pro emergence) angewendet werden, vorteilhafter ist jedoch ihre Anwendung nach dem Auflaufon (post emergence). Die Aufwandmenge an aktivem Wirkstoff hängt von der Qualität des Bodens, den meteorologischen Verhältnissen, der Zusammensetzung der Unkrautflora usw. ab und beträgt im allgemeinen 10-500, vorzugsweise 15-BOg/ha. Zum Ausbringen werden etwa 50-1000l/ha, vorzugsweise 10-75g/ha, Spritzbrühe verwendet.
Aus den erflndungsgemäßen Verbindungen können die Mittel in an sich bekannter Woise hergestellt werde,.. Die Mittel können zum Beispiel Spritzpulver (WP), Suspensionskonzentrate (SC), mit Wasser mischbare Lösungskonzentrate (SL), Emulsionskonzentrate (EC), wasserfrei ausbringbare Granulate (G), ferner Stäubemittel (DP) oder Ölsuspensionskonzentrate sein (FO). Die Wirkstoffe können auch als ULV-Formuliorung eingesetzt werden. In den Mitteln liegen die Wirkstoffe zusammen mit festen oder flüssigen inerten Trägerstoffen, Lösungsmitteln und eventuell sonstigen Hilfsstoffen vor. Als Hilfsstoffo kommen zum Beispiel in Frage: oberflächenaktive Stoffe, wie die Netzmittel, Suspendier- und Dispergierhilfen, Emulgatoren, die Klumpenbildung und das Zusammenbacken verhindernde Stoffe (anti-caking), Haftmittel, das Abtropfen verhindernde Mittel (spreader), die Penetration fördernde Stoffe, die biologische Wn ki>ng aufrechterhaltende oder steigernde Stoffe, Antischaummittel usw. Als feste Träger- und Streckmittel werden inaktive Mineralstoffe, wie unterschiedliche Kaoline, Porzellanerden, Attapulgit, Montmorillonit, Glimmerschiefer, Pyrophy.lit, Bentonit, Diatomeenerde oder hochdisperse synthetische Kieselsäure, Calciumcarbonat, calciniertes Magnesiumoxyd, Dolomit, Gips, Tricalciumphosphat, Fullererde usw. verwendet. Geeignete feste Streck- und Trägermittel sind auch Holzmehl, Mahlgut aus Tabakblättern usw. Als flüssige Trägerund Streckmittel und Lösungsmittel kommen zum Beispiel die folgenden in Frage: Wasser, organische oder wäßrig-organische Lösungsmittelgemische, wie Methanol, Äthanol, n- und Isopropanol, Diacetonalkohol, Benzylalkohol sowie deren Ester, ferner Methylcellosolv, Ketone wie Dimethylketon, Methyläthylketon, Methylisobutylketon, Cyclopentanon, Cyclohexanon usw.; Ester wie Äthylacetat, η- und Isobutylacetat, Amylacetat, Isopropylmyristat, Dioctylphthalat usw.; aromatische, aliphatische und acyclische Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Paraffine, Cyclohexan, Kerosin, Gasolin, Benzol, Toluol, Xylole, Tetralin, Dekalin, Gemische von Alkylbenzolen; chlorierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Trichloräthan, Dichlormethan, Perchloräthylen, Dichlorpropan, Chlorbenzol usw.; Lactone wie Gamma-butyrolacton usw.; Lactame, zum Beispiel N-Methylpyrrolidon, N-Cyclohexylpyrrolidon; Säureamido wie Dimethylformamid usw.; pflanzliche und tierische Öle, zum Beispiel Sonnenblumenöl, Lein-, Raps-, Oliven-, Soja-, Ricinus- und Spermwalöl.
Geeignete Netz-, Dispergier- und Emulgiermittel, Haftvermittler, die Aggregation und das Abtropfen verhindernde Mittel können ionisch oder nichtionisch sein. Als ionische kommen in Betracht: die Salze unterschiedlicher gesättigter und ungesättigter Carbonsäuren, die Sulfonate atiphatischer, aromatischer und araliphatischer Kohlenwasserstoffe, die Sulfate von Alkyl-, Aryl- und Aralkylalkoholen, die Sulfonate von Alkyl-, Aryl- und Aralkylsäureestorn und -äthern, die Sulfonate der Kondensationsprodukte von Phenol, Kresol und Naphthalin, sulfatierte pflanzliche und tierische Öle, Alkyl-, Aryl- und Aralkylphosphatester, ferner die mit Alkali- oder Erdalkalimetallen oder organischen Basen, z. B. mit Aminen wie Alkanolaminen gebildeten Salze, wie Natriumlaurylsulfat, Natrium-2-äthylhexylsulfat, das Natrium-, Äthanolamin-, Diäthanolamin-, Triäthanolamin-, Isopropylaminsalz der Dodecylbenzolsulfonsäure, Natriummono- und -diisopropylnaphthalinsulfonat, das Natriumsalz der Naphthalinsulfonsäure, Natriumdiisooctylsulfosuccinat, Natriumxylolsulfonat, das Natrium- und Kaliumsalz der Petroleumsulfonsäure, Schmierseifen, Kalium-, Natrium-, Calcium-, Aluminium-, Magnesiumstearat usw. Die Phosphatester können phosphatierte Alkylphenole oder mit Polyglycolen gebildete phosphatiert Äther von Fettalkoholen sein; auch deren mit den oben erwähnten Kationen oder organischen Basen ganz oder zum Teil neutralisierten Formen kommen in Frage, schließlich noch Dinatrium-N-octadecylsulfosuccinat, Natrium-N-oleyl-N-methyltaurid und unterschiedliche Ligninsulfonate. (S)-1 '-Äthoxycarbonyläthyl-2-chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoat (Verbindung 3) In einem mit Rührer, Zusatztrichter und Rückflußkühler ausgerüsteten Drelhalskolben wird ein Gemisch aus 48,3ml (0,426 Mol) (S)-Äthyllactat ([α]" = -12,0° /neat/), 150ml Benzol und 34,5ml (0,426 Mol) Pyridin auf 1O0C gekühlt und dann innerhalb einer halben Stunde mit der Lösung von 157,2g (0,426MoI) 2-Chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoylchlorid in 300ml Benzol versetzt. Während der Zugabe wird die Temperatur des Reaktionsgemisches durch äußere Kühlung zwischen 10 und 20°C gehalten. Dann wird das Reaktionsgemisch weitere 12 Stunden lang bei einer Temperatur von 20-300C gerührt. Dann wird das Gemisch mit 200ml 3%iger Salzsäure versetzt, kurz gerührt und dann die organische Phase abgetrennt. Die organische Phase wird zuerst mit 2x 200ml 3%iger Salzsäure, dann mit 200ml 3%iger Sodalösung und schließlich mit 2x 200ml Wasser gewaschen. Die Lösung wird über Magnesiumsulfat getrocknet. Ein großerTeil des Lösungsmittels wird unteratmosphärischem Druck, der Rest im Wasserstrahlvakuum abdestilliert. Man erhält das Produkt in Form eines gelben Öls in einer Ausbeute von 175 g (91,1%).

(R)-1'-Äthoxycarbonyläthyl-2-chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoat (Verbindung D)
1H- und 13C-NMR-Spektfums stimmen mit den entsprechenden Daten des gemäß Beispiel 3 hergestellten Produktes überein.
a) Emulsionskonzentrat (20EC)
2-Äthoxväthanol 10 Masseanteile in %
1) äthoxyliertes Rizinusöl
2) äthoxylierter Kokosalkohol
Emulsogen EL360 und Tensiofix CD5 werden in dem Gemisch aus 2-Äthoxyäthanol, Cyclohexanon und Xylol gelöst. Dann wird der Wirkstoff zugesetzt. Die Emulsion wird 2 Stunden lang gerührt.
b) Emulsionskonzentrat (35 EC)
1) Gemisch aus ithoxyliertem Fettalkohol, fitnoxyliertem Nonylphenol und ihren Phosphaten,
2) die mit n-Butanol bereitete Lösung von Calciumdodecylbenzolsulfonat, Sthoxyliertem Nonylphenol und Bthoxyliertem, propoxyliertem Nonylphenol.
Das Emulsionskonzentrat wird wie unter a) beschrieben hergestellt. In ähnlicher Weise können auch die anderen Verbindungen formuliert werden.
Die mit dem Cyclohexanon bereitete Lösung der Verbindung wird auf den in einer Drehtrommel befindlichen, vorher auf eine Teilchengröße von 50 Mikron gemahlenen Bentonit aufgesprüht. Man läßt die Trommel noch eine Stunde lang laufen, wobei das Cyclohexanon verdunstet
In ähnlicher Weise können auch die anderen Vorbindungen formuliert werden.
In Wasser dispergierbares Granulat (WG) Verbindung Nr. 1 50 Masseanteile In %

4) Isopropylnaphlhallneulfonat
In einem Mörser wird der Wirkstoff mit dem amorphen Siliziumdioxyd, dem Dispergiermittel Atlos 4862 und dem Netzmittel Ceropon IN sowie dem Kaolin verrieben. Das Gemisch wird fein gemahlen (der Anteil der Teilchen, die größer als 44 Mikron sind, soll unter 0,5% liegen). Das Pulver wird in einem Km.or mit der wäßrigen Lösung des Bindemittels Polifon 0 verarbeitet. In einem Extruder wird ein Granulat mit dem Durchmesser von 1 mm hergestellt und dann im Luftstrom getrocknet. Auf ähnliche Welse kann auch aus den anderen Verbindungen Granulat bereitet werden.
Die herbizide Wirksamkeit und Selektivität der erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe wird mit der strukturell nahestehenden Verbindung (RS)-1'-Äthoxycarbonyläthyl-2-brom-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoat (Verbindung A) und dem im Handel befindlichen (RS)-I'-Äthoxycarbonyläthyl-2-nitro-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoat (Verbindung B) als Standard verglichen.
In Kunststoffkulturgefäße wurden - abhängend von der Pflanzenart - 20-50 Samenkörner (innerhalb ein und derselben Art natürlich immer die gleiche Anzahl) in 0,5cm Tiefe gesät. Der Boden wurde nach Bedarf gegossen, und die Kulturgefäße wurden unter optimalen Temperatur- und Lichtverhältnissen aufgestellt. Als die Unkrautpflanzen 2-4 Folgeblätter (echte Blätter, die Keimblätter nicht mitgezählt) beziehungsweise die Kulturpflanzen 3-6 Folgeblätter aufwiesen, wurde gesprüht, wobei Wirkstoffdosen von 5,15,45,135,405 und 1215g Wirkstoff pro Hektar Verwendung fanden. Am 10.Tag nach der Behandlung wurde die Auswertung durchgeführt. Der prozentuale Vernichtungsgrad wurde nach L. Bänki: Bioassay of Pesticid in the Laboratory (Akadomia Kiado, Budapest, Ungarn 1978) bestimmt. Daraus wurden mittels Probitanalyse (Finney, D. J.: Probit analysis, Cambridge University Press, 1964,2nd Ed.) die zu einer mehr als 90%igen Vernichtung erforderlichen Dosen berechnet. Auch wurde der Selektivitätsschwellenwert der Kulturpflanzen bestimmt, d.h. die höchste Dosis an Wirkstoff, die die Kulturpflanze noch ohne Schädigung erträgt

Beispiel 11 Freilandversuche
Mit den erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen Nr. 1,2,3 und 4 sowie mit den Standards A, B, C und D wurden mit Winterweizen der Sorte Aurora auf Parzellen von 20m2 Fläche in vier Wiederholungen Untersuchungen vorgenommen. Dazu wurden die Wirkstoffe auf die im Beispiel 7 a beschriebene Weise formuliert. Auf den Versuchsparzellen kamen folgende Unkräuter vor: Anthemis arvensis, Convolvulus arvensls, Matricaria inodora, Veronica hederifolia und Stellaria media. Die herbizide Behandlung wurde am 23. März vorgenommen, als Stellaria media zu blühen begann und die übrigen Unkräuter höchstens 10cm hoch waren. Die herbizide Wirkung wurde drei Wochen nach der Behandlung bewertet (L. Bänki: Bioassay of Pesticid in the Laboratory, Akadomia Kiado, Budapest, Ungarn 1978). Mit Ausnahme von Stellaria media wurden alle Unkräuter 100%ig vernichtot. Hinsichtlich der auf Stellaria media ausgeübten herbiziden Wirkung war zwischen den erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen und den Standards ein wesentlicher qualitativer Unterschied zu verzeichnen. Die erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen vernichteten das Unkraut gut, während die Standards wirkungslos waren. Auf den mit den Standards behandelten Gebieten (Dosis: 50g/ha) erreichte die Bedeckung mit Stellaria media den Wert von 50%. Bei einer Dosis von 100g/ha war auch in der auf den Winterweizen ausgeübten phytotoxischen Wirkung ein beachtlicher Unterschied zwischen den erfindungsgemäßen Verbindungen und den Standards zu beobachten
Die für Winterweizen und Stellaria media gefundenen Werte sind in der Tabelle 3 zusammengestellt.

Claims (7)
1. Herblzides Mittel, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es als Wirkstoff In einer Menge von 0,01-95,0 Masseanteilen in % das (S)-Enantlomoro oder Racemat oiner Vorbindung der allgomoinon Formol (I), worin R für Methyl oder Äthyl steht, enthält, zusammen mit festen und/odor flüssigen Trägern, vorzugsweise In Form von natürlichen G jstolnsmehlon oder gemahlenen synthetischen Stoffen und/odor inorton Lösungsmitteln, vorzugswoiso in Form von Xylolen und/odor Cyclohexanon und gogebononfalls zusammen mit oberflächenaktiven Stoffen, vorzugsweise onionischen und/odor nichtionischon Emulgior- und Disporgiormittoln.
2. Mittel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es als (S)-Enantiomeres einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formol (I) (S)-1'-Mothoxycorbonylöthyl-2-clilor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormothylphonoxy)-benzoat enthält.
3. Mittel noch Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es als Racemat einer Verbindung dor allgemeinen Formel (IMRSJ-VMothoxycorbonyläthyl^-chlor-B-U-chlor^-trifluormothyl-phonoxy)· benzoat enthält.
4. Mittel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es als (S)-Enantiomeres oiner Vorbindung dor ollgemeinen Formol (I) (S)-V-Äthoxycarbonyläthyl-2-chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethylphonoxy)-bonzoat enthält.
5. Mittel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es als Racemat einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formol (I) (RS)-If-Äthoxycarbonyläthyl-2-chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluor-methyl-phenoxy)· benzoat enthält.
6. Verfahren zur Herstellung der (S)-Enantlomeren oder Racemate der Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel (I), worin R für Methyl oder Äthyl steht, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man
a) das (S)-Enantiomere oder Racemat eines Milchsäureesters der allgemeinen Formel (II), worin R für Methyl oder Äthyl steht, zweckmäßig in Gegenwart eines Säurebindemittels mit wenigstens der stöchiometrischen Menge eines 2-Chlor-5-(2-chlcr-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoylhalogenids, vorzugsweise dos Chlorids, umsetzt oder
b) das (S)-Enantiomere oder Racemat eines Alkyl-2-halogen-propionats der allgemeinen Formel (III), worin R für Methyl oder Äthyl und Hai für Chlor oder Brom steht, vorzugsweise in Gegenwart einer Aza-Verbindung, wie I.B-Diazabicyclo/öAO/ undec-5-on (DBU) mit 2-Chlor-5-(2-chlor-4-trifluormethyl-phenoxy)-benzoesöure umsetzt,
c) das erhaltene (S)-Enantiomore bzw. Racemat der Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (I) in an sich bekannter Weise abtrennt, gewünschtenfalls das Racemat einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel (I) in seine optischen Isomeren zerlegt und das erhaltene (S)-Enantiomoro bzw. Racemat gewünschtenfalls weiter reinigt.
7. Methode zur Beseitigung unerwünschten Pflanzenwuchses, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man das (S)-Enantiomere odor Racemat von Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel (I), worin R für Methyl oder Äthyl steht oder ein dieses (S)-Enantiomere oder Racemat als Wirkstoff enthaltendos Mittel in einer herbizid wirksamen Menge pro emergence oder post emergence auf die Pflanzen odor ihren Lebensraum ausbringt.
