Definitions

  • the invention relates to a winding carrier, which can be partially inserted in the axial direction into a winding carrier of the same design, with supporting elements running parallel to its axis and connected to one another via essentially dimensionally stable coupling pieces, which project radially outward into a common cylindrical surface and form a winding surface, whereby the distance between two adjacent support elements is greater than the dimension of a support element in the circumferential direction, the maximum outer diameter of the coupling pieces in one end region of the winding support being equal to or smaller than the diameter of the cylinder surface on which the inner surfaces of the support elements in the other end region of the winding support lie, while at the other end a radially outwardly projecting flange is provided over the support elements, to which the support elements are connected and which has openings which are open radially inwards and which accommodate the support elements of a slidable winding carrier serve.
  • the support elements are rod-shaped and are coupled at one end by a dimensionally stable annular flange.
  • This winding carrier makes it possible to be partially inserted into an identical winding carrier in the axial direction. It is thus possible to shorten the axial starting length of several winding carriers placed one above the other by compressing and intermeshing.
  • the diameter of this winding carrier is essentially rigid. He can not follow a shrinkage of the yarn package by giving in the radial direction.
  • winding carriers are known, which can be compressed in the radial direction, but do not allow an axial compression of one winding carrier in the axial direction into another.
  • Winding carriers of this type are disclosed in FR-A 2 168 682 and 2 290 381. They have dimensionally stable end rings at their two ends, between which support elements run parallel to the winding carrier axis and are U-shaped in cross section, the legs of their profile pointing radially inwards. The adjacent legs in the circumferential direction of two such support elements are connected to one another by dimensionally stable coupling pieces.
  • the supporting elements have their weakest cross section in the areas of their connection to the end rings. The result of this is that the supporting elements, with the exception of their end ring regions, then move radially inward when a winding located on the winding support exerts a corresponding radially inward force. During this displacement of the support elements, the legs of each of these elements are pressed towards one another.
  • a winding carrier is known (US-A 3 563 490), in which the support elements are supported on an inner body via intermediate elements which are flexible in the radial direction.
  • This winding carrier also does not offer the possibility of being partially inserted axially into a winding carrier of the same design. Axial compression of the coils arranged thereon is consequently not possible.
  • a winding carrier is known (FR-A 1 085 398), the winding surface of which is formed from rods running parallel to its axis, which are connected at one end by an outer slotted ring. Near its other end, the bars are inclined radially inward.
  • another ring is provided, which also has a slot and the rods rest on the outer edge.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide a winding carrier which, in conjunction with similar winding carriers, permits trouble-free compression of the thread and yarn packages located thereon in the axial direction and also their shrinkage in the radial direction, the two effects not necessarily being coupled. This should be achieved with a simple structure and thus with ease of manufacture of the winding carrier.
  • each support element is formed from two circumferentially compressible connected legs that the coupling pieces each with one end with the free end of a leg of a support element and with its other end with the free end of the leg facing the same coupling piece of the adjacent support element in the circumferential direction, and that the flange is divided into substantially dimensionally stable flange segments, one flange segment being connected between two adjacent support elements and each lying on its radially inner side Ends with a support element is connected in a hinge-like manner, the flange segments being designed such that they allow the flange to be compressed in the circumferential direction.
  • the winding carrier according to the invention can also be designed such that adjacent flange segments overlap relative to one another so as to be displaceable in the circumferential direction.
  • each winding support results in a continuous rolling surface which projects radially outward beyond the winding surface and which can work together with a winding drum without difficulty.
  • the winding support according to the invention can also be designed so that the coupling pieces are designed as ring segments. This results in a simple, stable construction of the winding carrier.
  • the winding support according to the invention can also be designed so that the coupling pieces are connected with flexible buckling elements which are supported on at least one rigid guide ring arranged radially inwards. In this way, secure guidance of the winding support on the respective support member is achieved, on the one hand, and reliable support of the support elements, on the other hand.
  • the embodiment of the winding carrier according to the invention according to FIGS. 1 and 2 has supporting elements 1 running parallel to the axis of the winding carrier.
  • Each support element 1 has a V-shaped cross section, which is open radially inwards. It is thus formed by two legs 2 which can be pressed together in the direction of one another.
  • the support elements 1 have radially outer crest surfaces 3, on a common cylinder dri e n sch envelope surface.
  • All support elements 1 of the winding support are coupled at one end by flange segments 4, one of which is arranged between two support elements 1.
  • These flange segments 4 are essentially dimensionally stable. They each have a radially inward opening 5 which is slightly larger than the dimensions of a support element 1 in the non-compressed position. This shows that the openings 5 advantageously also have a V-shaped design.
  • the flange segments 4 project radially outward beyond the envelope surface common to the supporting elements 1. They are connected at their radially inner circumferential edges 6 in a hinge-like manner to a respective support element 1, so that the position of the leg 2 of such a support element 1 relative to the associated flange segment 4 can be easily changed by compressing the support element 1.
  • the support elements 1 are connected in addition to the flange segments 4 by two ring-like coupling pieces 7.
  • These elements are composed of ring segments, each of which extends between the mutually facing legs 2 of adjacent support elements 1. They lie with their inner surface 8 essentially on the same cylindrical surface as the inner surfaces of the support elements 1, so that a ring-like coupling piece 7 can be used as a maximum limitation for the insertion of two identical winding carriers.
  • the embodiment according to FIG. 1 also provides a further ring-like coupling piece 9, which is arranged in the region of the end of the winding carrier that is remote from the flange segments 4 and causes additional stiffening.
  • This coupling piece 9 is also composed of ring segments, but these are arranged such that the outer diameter of this coupling piece 9 is equal to or smaller than the diameter of the cylinder surface on which the inner surfaces of the support elements 1 lie.
  • the radially outer ends of the support elements have a bevel 10 '.
  • Two axially aligned winding carriers according to the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2 can be partially pushed into each other, namely by inserting the support elements 1 of the winding carrier into the openings 5 of the flange segments 4 of another winding carrier.
  • One winding support can then be pushed into the other until the front ends of the support elements 1 meet a boundary, in particular a coupling piece 7.
  • the embodiment of the winding carrier according to the invention according to FIGS. 3 and 4 also has support elements 1 with two legs 2 each, as was described in connection with the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2. In this case, however, all the support elements of the winding support are coupled near its one end by essentially dimensionally stable flange segments 10, one of which is arranged between two support elements 1. These flange segments 10, like the flange segments 4 of the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, have an opening 5 which is slightly larger than the dimensions of a support element 1 in the non-compressed position.
  • the flange segments 10 differ from those of the previously described embodiment only in that they each have a radially outer section 11 which has an arcuate outer surface 12. These outer surfaces 12 of the flange segments 10 lie on a common cylinder surface, the axis of which corresponds to that of the winding support. 3 and 4, right side, in particular, each flange segment 10 forms in the region of its section 11 in the circumferential direction at its one end a projection 13 and at its other end a projection 14 offset from the projection 13.
  • These projections 13, 14 form one Flange segments 10 work together with correspondingly formed projections 13, 14 of the adjacent flange segment 10, the projections 13, 14 of adjacent flange segments 10 then overlapping. In this way, the flange segments 10 in their entirety form a continuous cylindrical surface over which the winding support can be driven. By overlapping the projections 13, 14 of adjacent flange segments 10, a continuous contact surface is maintained even when the winding carrier is compressed radially.
  • ring-like coupling piece 15 which is composed of ring segments, each of which extends between the legs 2 of adjacent support elements 1.
  • a further coupling piece 16 is provided which, as already described in connection with FIGS. 1 and 2, is composed of ring segments.
  • an edge 17 of a V-shaped kink element 18 is fastened, the other edge 19 of which is fastened to a central guide ring 20 which runs concentrically to the axis of the winding carrier and to the coupling piece 16.
  • the guide ring 20 serves for exact guidance of the entire winding support and also for supporting the segments of the coupling piece 16.
  • a thrust ring (not shown) can be placed on the winding support, which, due to the radially inwardly open grooves, permits a radially inward displacement of the support elements and thereby maintains a continuous rolling surface.
  • a thrust ring which must exceed the largest diameter of the winding carrier, enables the winding carrier to be driven by a roller-shaped rotating body, results in considerable stabilization and promotes trouble-free unwinding, since this ring precludes any jamming.
  • the active carrier according to the described embodiments are expediently made of plastic, but can also be made of any other suitable material.
