Definitions

  • the invention is based on an offset sheet-fed rotary printing press with a plurality of printing units comprising at least one printing cylinder, a blanket cylinder, a plate cylinder and an inking unit and a dampening unit, which are identical to one another and each as a unit, in which the axes of the blanket cylinders are in one plane and the axes of the printing cylinders are arranged in a further plane parallel to this.
  • the invention has for its object to provide an offset sheet-fed rotary printing press of the type mentioned, in which manufacturing costs are reduced by reducing the number of parts required for sheet transport.
  • the configuration according to the invention offers the further significant advantage that, in turn in a very simple manner — again with a minimum of parts — one or more face-printing units can be assigned to back-pressure units.
  • the printing machine according to FIG. 1 comprises four sheet-fed printing units 1 to 4 designed as structural units.
  • Each of the sheet-fed printing units comprises an inking unit 5, 6, 7, 8, a dampening unit 9, 10, 11, 12, a plate cylinder 13, 14, 15, 16 and a blanket cylinder 17, 18, 19, 20.
  • the face printing units 1 to 3 each comprise a printing cylinder 21, 22, 23. No such printing cylinder is inserted in the front printing unit 4, since it is not required for printing.
  • all face-to-face printing units 1 to 4 are otherwise identical and in particular have side walls 24, 25, 26, 27 of the same type which, as shown in FIG. 1, can be connected directly to one another.
  • the rubber cylinders 17 to 19 and the impression cylinders 21 to 23 are equipped with grippers for transporting the sheets.
  • at least the printing cylinder 23 is provided with a device for stretching a rubber blanket.
  • the diameters of the blanket cylinders 17 to 20 and the diameters of the impression cylinders 21 to 23 are identical to one another and twice as large as the diameters of the plate cylinders 13 to 16.
  • the bearings for the cylinders 17 to 23 are arranged so that the axes of the rubber cylinders 17 to 20 lie in a first plane AA shown in broken lines and the axes of the pressure cylinders 21 to 23 in a second plane BB also shown in broken lines.
  • the planes AA and BB expediently run horizontally, so that the sheets are conveyed in the usual manner from a boom arranged in front of the front of the machine to a boom arranged behind the rear.
  • the distance between the two planes A and B is determined by the fact that the connecting lines between the axes of the blanket cylinders 17 to 20 and the adjacent pressure cylinders 21 to 23 form a dashed zigzag line C whose connecting lines each meet an angle Include a of 145 °.
  • This angle a can be selected in a range from 70 ° to 175 °. The smaller the angle a, the shorter the overall length of the machine.
  • the distance between the plate cylinders, inking and dampening units of two adjacent printing units is reduced, so that access to these parts becomes more difficult. Accordingly, the accessibility to the printing units can be improved at the expense of the overall length of the machine by increasing the angle a.
  • the accessibility to the inking and dampening units and the plate cylinders on the one hand and the overall length of the machine on the other hand is determined by the size of the diameter of the plate cylinder, blanket cylinder and impression cylinder. Basically, it is possible to design the three cylinders of each printing unit the same size and to choose the diameter of the plate cylinder so that a plate is on its circumference can be excited. This configuration is primarily suitable for small, narrow machines.
  • One solution that compensates for the contradicting demands for a short overall length and good accessibility is the configuration shown in FIG. 1, in which the diameters of the rubber cylinders 17 to 20 and the pressure cylinders 21 to 23 are selected to be twice as large as the diameters of the plate cylinders 13 to 16.
  • the diameters of the rubber cylinders 17 to 20 and the pressure cylinders 21 to 23 are selected to be twice as large as the diameters of the plate cylinders 13 to 16.
  • the sheets are fed to the printing presses 1 to 4 via a feed table 28 and a pre-gripper 29. So that the sheet between the point at which the rubber cylinder 17 takes over the sheets from the pre-gripper 29 and the pressure line between the rubber cylinder 17 and the pressure cylinder 21 does not smear by loosely abutting the rubber cylinder 17, a pressure roller 30 can be set on this cylinder.
  • the pressure roller 30 is arranged in the direction of rotation indicated by the arrow a of the blanket cylinder 17 directly behind the sheet transfer point. With the pressure roller 30, the sheet is pressed against the rubber cylinder 17 so that it lies smoothly against the circumference of the ink-bearing rubber cylinder 17 up to the printing line.
  • the sheet is then guided by the grippers of the impression cylinder 21, the blanket cylinder 18, the impression cylinder 22, the blanket cylinder 19 and the impression cylinder 23 to the blanket cylinder 20.
  • This rubber cylinder of the last printing unit 4 itself does not carry any grippers. Rather, sprockets around which a gripper chain system 31 is guided are fixed on both sides of the rubber cylinder 20 on its axis.
  • This gripper chain system 31 takes over the sheets from the impression cylinder 23 and transports them in the direction of arrow b to the delivery. The selected arrangement ensures that the sheets are freely guided after removal from the rubber cylinder 20 on the underside of the gripper chain system 31 and cannot strike against other parts of the machine.
  • a counter-pressure unit 32 is arranged below the abutting edge between the face printing units 3 and 4.
  • This includes a plate cylinder 33, an inking unit 34 and a dampening unit 35.
  • the plate cylinder 33 is in contact with the printing cylinder 23, which is covered with a rubber blanket and used as a rubber cylinder.
  • each continuous sheet receives along the printing line between the rubber cylinder 19 and the Printing cylinder 23 not only a face print with the color of the face printing unit 3, but also an impression at the same time.
  • the machine rests on stands 36, 37 which support the machine in the areas in which further back pressure units could be inserted.
  • An end stand 38 is also provided.
  • the embodiment according to FIG. 2 again comprises four face-printing units 51, 52, 53, 54 designed as structural units, which are designed in the same way as the face-printing units of the machine according to FIG. 1.
  • Four counter-pressure units 55, 56, 57, 58 are provided below the face-to-face printing units. which are designed in exactly the same way as the counterpressure unit 32 according to FIG. 1.
  • printing cylinders 63, 64, 65, 66 act together, all of which are covered with a rubber blanket and act as a rubber cylinder Back printing units are used. All cylinders 59 to 66 carry grippers.
  • a suction air device 69 is provided in this machine, which consists of several, over the Entire length of the rubber cylinder 59 extending suction air boxes connected to a suction air source. This ensures that the gripper of the rubber cylinder 59 to the printing cylinder 63 transported sheet abuts the suction boxes of the suction air device 69 and thus can not strike the surface of the ink-guiding rubber cylinder 59 before it reaches the printing line.
  • a blower air nozzle row 73 can also be arranged above the gripper 68, from which blown air emerges approximately tangentially to the rubber cylinder 59.
  • the printing cylinder 66 used as a blanket cylinder must be inserted into the last printing unit 54.
  • This cylinder interacts with a gripper chain system 70 which is guided around two deflection sprockets 71 seated on a common axis.
  • the deflection sprockets 71 are accommodated in an additional unit 72 comprising side walls in such a way that, after connecting this additional unit, the gripper chain system removes the sheets one after the other from the grippers of the pressure cylinder 66, which rotates in the direction of arrow c.
  • This arrangement ensures that the sheets are in turn transported away from the lower run of the gripper chain system 70 in the direction of arrow d to the delivery.
