Definitions
- This invention relates to a multi-storey building and to heat maintenance in its premises by means of air.
- the building is intended for use as an office and resident ⁇ ial building. It comprises in a manner known per se a multi-storey building structure extending substantially in east-west direction, the floor structures of which at least to some extent are formed with hollow channels for the transport of air and have substantial mass for energy accumulation.
- Such floor structures in general consist of concrete as it provides a mass suitable for energy accumul ⁇ ation.
- the air is passed through the channels. When heating is desired, the temperature of the air is increased in a suitable way, and at its passage through the channels the air delivers heat to the floor structure.
- the heat accumulated in the floor structure mass can be removed therefrom by shutting-off the spent air and supplying other air to the channel system for taking-up the heat and passing it into the room.
- Another method is to permit convection from the floor structure to the room and thereby to take away heat from the floor structure.
- the floor structure may also be used for cooling purposes by supplying cold air to the hollow channels of the floor structure.
- the present invention has the object to utilize the surplus heat, which possibly prevails in the office premises owing to the presence of persons and machinery equipment therein.
- the surplus heat shall be utilized in the residential rooms, preferably during the later part of daytime when heat is desired in these rooms after people have returned home from their places of work.
- the surplus heat can be utilized there periodically during a day and night cycle.
- the heated floor structures deliver energy to the rooms in the residential part, and maintain heat balance in the dwelling.
- a variation of 2_3°C during a day and night cycle is obtained.
- the 24-hour cycle desired for the dwelling i.e. higher temperature in daytime and lower temperature in nighttime, can be maintained.
- the present invention is characterized in "that the building structure is divided into two parts, which are located one on each side of an imagined vertical plane in the longitudinal direction of the building structure, that the building part facing to the north is arranged for serving office purposes, and the building part facing to the south is arranged for serving residential purposes, that the hollow channels in the floor structure of the residential part are separated from the floor structure of the office part, and that a connecting duct is provided, which in open state connects an outlet for spent air from the office part to the hollow channel system in the floor structure of the residential part, so that surplus energy (heat-cold) can he transferred therethrough from the office part to the residential part and, due to the mass of the floor structure, be accumulated for being utilized in the residential part during a certain period of the day and night cycle.
- FIG. 1 is a simplified horizontal -view of a storey in the building according to the invention.- .
- the view may be said to be a horizontal se'ction through a floor structure between two storeys in the building.
- the Figure is intended to show the way in which air is transported through the premises and channel systems of the building.
- the Figure thus, is a horizontal view of a building according to the invention idea and shows, substantially simplified, a heating system for the building.
- the building 1 in principle is an elongated structure, of which one long side faces substantially northward, and one long side faces substantially southward.
- the gables thus, face eastward and, respectively, westward.
- the building 1 in principle is divided into two parts along a vertical plane 2 extending along the longitudinal direction of the building, thereby forming a northern part 3 and a southern part 4.
- the northern part 3 contains office premises, and in the southern part 4 residential premises
- OA1PI are located.
- the two parts 3 and 4 in principle can be separated by a stair well with lifts and other service passageways.
- Each of the parts 3 and 4 comprises a floor structure located on the same level.
- the Figure can be said to illustrate the floor structures.
- the floor structure is provided with hollow channels 5, which extend in the floor structure with inlet at 6 and outlet at 7.
- the floor structure contains a substantial mass, so that at the supply of air with a temperature exceeding the temperature of the floor structure the floor structure is heated and heat energy is accumulated continuously in the floor structure.
- the air supplied to the channel system 5 is spent air from the office part 3.
- a supply duct 8 is provided, through which air is supplied by means of a fan 9.
- the supply air has been heated to a suitable temperature in a heat exchanger 10, or it has the temperature, which the surrounding has imparted to it, depending on the time of the year and day.
- the arrangement in any case has been so, that the supply air flowing through the duct 8 has a temperature, which is suitable for heating the office part 3 or for maintaining the temperature therein.
- the air supplied being fresh air, the people in the office part 3 receive fresh air. After having delivered its heat content and been used, the air is removed from the office part at a spent air intake 11.
- the air in the office part has been heated additional by people and machines working in the office part and exceeds by about 2-5 C the temperature assumed suitable for the residential part. There is, thus, an energy surplus available in the form of heat in the spent air in the office part. This energy surplus now is to be utilized for the heating of the residential part 4. Therefore, the spent air from the office part 3 is passed by a fan 12 and via a control valve 13 to the channel system 5 in the floor structure of the residential part. The air flows through the channel system and heat energy is accumulated in the floor structure in the residential part 4. The air then escapes at 7 and can flow into the atmosphere.
- the spent • air from the channels 5 is of a temperature higher than the - temperature of the supply air to the heat exchanger 10 for the air to the office part, it is suitable to supply a controlled amount of said spent air from the channel system 5 to the heat exchanger 10 in order to utilize the energy contained in the spent air.
- the supply and spent air system of the residential part 4 is completely separated from the office system. It is also possible that other heating sources can be or are provided for the residential part, and the control or adjustment of, for example, a radiator system in the residential part is coupled to and depending on the energy supply from the office part by the supply of spent air into the channel system 5.
- the second channel system 14 in the floor structure in the residential part can also be used in such a way, that when the surplus energy from the office part is to be utilized in the floor structure, supply air is delivered to the residential part via the channel system 14, and this supply air then is heat exchanged in the floor structure with the heat energy, which was supplied via the channels 5. This supply air thereafter flows out into the residential premises below the floor structure in the residential part 4.
