Definitions

  • the invention relates to a multi-pole push button switch according to the first part of claim 1.
  • Pushbutton switches are used in many ways to indicate a state, for example an end position of a machine table, the closed state of a door, a cover or similar elements.
  • a path section for actuating a switch plunger is used directly by the movement of the part to be monitored.
  • DE-C-952 915 shows such a single-pole switch.
  • a three-pole push button switch with side-by-side switching chambers in which a plunger acts on the three switching chambers via a crossbar. A breakage of a return spring in one of the switching chambers does not lead to a forced return by the return spring of the plunger. It is also known from US-A-31 42 732 how to combine any three commercially available thermally tripping circuit breakers into a three-pole circuit breaker. It is also known (DE-C-667361) to store at least three contact bridges in a common contact bridge carrier in a latching push button switch.
  • the push button switch as a security element, e.g. B. for barriers on punching machines against unauthorized manipulation during a work process or as a door contact, in which it must be ensured that there are no longer dangerous contact voltages when the door is open, there are additional safety regulations.
  • the latter require more than a reset element actuating the switch contact on the switch itself, which is not available in the known.
  • the invention has for its object to reduce the manufacturing costs and the overall height of a multi-pole push button switch while observing the safety requirements.
  • 1 means a lower housing part of a three-pole push-button switch with an actuating plunger 2, which is mounted in a longitudinally displaceable manner both in an upper housing part 3 and in a guideway 4 (FIG. 1) of the lower housing part 1.
  • three switching chambers 5, 6, 7 are arranged side by side, each of which has a contact bridge 8, 9, 10 and two associated contact fingers 11, 12 (FIG. 2), 13.
  • the contact bridges 8, 9, 10 can be actuated from the single actuating plunger 2.
  • a cross bar 14 is formed on the inside of the upper housing part 3.
  • the contact carriers 15, 16, 17 penetrate into the individual switching chambers 5 or 6 or 7 ' and each consist of two elastic fingers, of which only two fingers 16a; 16b of the contact carrier 16 can be seen in FIG. 2.
  • the ends of the elastic fingers of each contact carrier 15, 16, 17 are each formed into a stop 18, 19, 20 (FIG. 1), of which stops 19a and 19b of the contact carrier 16 are shown in FIG.
  • On each of the contact carriers 15, 16, 17 one of the contact bridges 8 or 9 or 10 is suspended so as to rock about the middle of the bridge, for which purpose each of the contact bridges 8, 9, 10 has a central opening 21.
  • the elastic fingers of the contact carriers 15, 16, 17 each penetrate one of the contact bridges 8, 9, 10 in its opening 21 and prevent the contact bridges 8, 9, 10 with the stops 18, 19, 20 from falling out.
  • actuating plunger 2 is shown in its rest position, that is, with the key switch open.
  • each switching chamber 5, 6, 7 has its own return spring 25, 26, 27. These are supported on the one hand on the crosspiece 14 and on the other hand on Bottom of the switching chambers 5, 6, 7, that is, on the lower housing part 1.
  • To guide the return springs 25, 26, three pins 28 are formed on the lower housing part 1 and protrude into one of the switching chambers 5, 6, 7.
  • the return springs 25, 26, 27 are attached to these pins 28.
  • the strength of the return springs 25, 26, 27 is dimensioned such that if one of the return springs 25, 26, 27 fails, the spring force of the remaining return springs 25, 26, 27 is sufficient to remove the contact bridges 8, 9, 10 of all switching chambers 5, 6, 7 to open and bring the actuating plunger 2 into its rest position.
  • the actuating plunger 2 must never get stuck even under one-sided loading. It therefore has an additional lateral guide at least in the direction in which the crosspiece 14 extends.
  • it consists of two parallel ribs 29, 30 (FIG. 1) which extend between the middle contact bridge 9 and the two outer contact bridges 8 and 10 and slide along the lateral guideways 4 of the middle switching chamber 6.
  • the actuating plunger 2 Due to the double guidance of the actuating plunger 2 on the one hand in the upper housing part 3 and on the other hand in the guideways 4, the actuating plunger 2 cannot jam even if one of the outer return springs 25 or 27 fails due to a broken spring and the remaining two work alone. The remaining return springs will still be able to bring the actuating plunger 2 into its rest position.
  • spring tabs 31 are formed on the lower housing part 1 and hold the pushbutton spring in a known manner in a corresponding recess in a sheet metal plate.
  • the structure described allows the economical production of fail-safe pushbutton switches which meet the required safety regulations and which, despite low space requirements, also have the air gaps and creepage distances required for use in low-voltage networks. They are also very easy to assemble and require no special tools.

Abstract
