Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for a cylinder lock with a cylinder housing, with a cylinder core, with tumblers which can be actuated by control surfaces of the associated key and inserted into a key channel, and with a resetting securing element which is arranged in front of at least one of the tumblers mentioned and is displaceable in the key channel or the cylinder housing, the associated key having a bridging element and a free space for the securing element, a recess for the bridging element also being provided in the cylinder core adjacent to the key channel and the securing element being in the free space when the key is fully inserted and is thus shifted into the key channel and releases the cylinder core.
- a cylinder lock is described in US Pat. No. 2,049,548, the associated key of which has two legs.
- One leg contains the control surfaces for actuating the tumblers, which are designed as locking pins with springs and the like.
- At the entrance of the key channel there is a resetting securing element which can engage in a free space of the leg mentioned with the control surfaces.
- Both legs of the key have the same length and the second leg serves to bridge the free space mentioned in the first leg. Due to the recess in the cylinder core for the second leg, impermissible aids for manipulating the tumblers and the lock as a whole can be introduced.
- the securing element is in its zero position even when the key is not inserted and does not block the cylinder core against rotation.
- the invention has for its object to improve the device of the type mentioned with regard to unauthorized scanning and actuation with little effort, the rotation of the cylinder core is to be prevented by means of the securing element until the associated key is fully inserted.
- the key channel should be able to be reliably locked when the key is not inserted, and the securing element should only assume its zero position for releasing the cylinder core when the key is inserted correctly.
- the recess and the bridging element are only present in the area of the free space and the securing element, and that a lever is arranged in the cylinder core, which can be actuated by the key bit and is coupled to the securing element.
- This coupling is provided such that when the key is removed, the securing element engages in the cylinder housing in the reset position and that when the key is fully inserted, the securing element is displaced in the cylinder core and at least completely closes off the key channel.
- the device according to the invention is characterized by a comparatively simple structure and offers significantly improved security against unauthorized actuation.
- the cylinder core is secured against rotation in addition to the other tumblers by means of the securing element.
- the locking element releases the cylinder for rotation.
- the safety element therefore does not automatically find its zero position, but must be brought into it.
- two parts must be brought into a defined position at the same time, so that on the one hand the key channel is completely shut off and at the same time the cylinder core is free to rotate.
- both the lever end that can be actuated by the key and the securing element must be brought into the required defined position.
- lever end to be actuated by the key is located behind the securing element in the direction of insertion of the key. Even if the aforementioned lever end is reached with an inadmissible means, for example a wire, this wire or the other auxiliary means prevents the securing element from being brought into the release or zero position.
- FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the cylinder housing 18, in which a cylinder core 20 is arranged so as to be rotatable about a longitudinal axis 6.
- tumblers 86 which are arranged in a known manner in corresponding bores of the cylinder housing and the cylinder core and are acted upon by springs, not shown here.
- the cylinder core 20 there is a key channel 15 into which the key (not shown here) can be inserted.
- a securing element 80 is arranged, which is thus located in front of the tumblers 86 mentioned.
- the securing element 80 is designed as a cylindrical bolt, which is displaceably arranged in a bore 82 of the cylinder core 20 and in a bore 84 of the cylinder housing 18.
- the securing element 18 and also the tumblers 86 prevent the rotation of the cylinder core 20.
- the lever 88 can be pivoted about an axis 90 perpendicular to the plane of the drawing.
- the lever 88 and thus also the securing element 80 are normally held automatically in the position shown.
- In the cylinder core 20 there is a recess 94 for the top, specifically in the area of the securing element 80 bridging element of the key to be introduced, which is yet to be explained.
- a further bore 96 is provided in the cylinder housing 18 at the top, into which the securing element can intervene again in the context of the invention in the event of inadmissible manipulation and prevents the rotation of the cylinder core 20 again.
- the rear end 98 of the lever 88 is pressed down and the securing element 80 is pushed upwards. If the correct key is inserted, the key channel 15 is completely blocked off according to the invention by means of the securing element 80 on the one hand and the securing element 80 is shifted overall in the cylinder core 20. It can be seen that if the key is incorrect, the securing element 80 may also be pushed into the upper bore 96 and in turn prevent rotation. If manipulation is attempted with a wire or with another impermissible aid, the securing element 80 cannot be moved completely out of the bore 84 as a result of the aid or the wire, since the wire or the aid is still located in the key channel 50.
- the cylinder core 20 can only be rotated when the key channel 15 is completely blocked and furthermore the securing element 80 and of course the tumblers 86 are in their release position.
- FIG. 2 shows a section along section line B according to FIG. 1, wherein the lever 88 can now be seen in a longitudinal groove 108 of the cylinder core 20.
- the securing element 80 is obviously wider than the key channel 15 and a complete shut-off of the same is ensured.
- the dash-dotted line indicates an embodiment in which the rear lever end 98 'lies above the rear tumbler.
- the spring element 92 can be omitted in such an embodiment, since the spring element of the rear tumbler presses the rear lever end 98 'upward.
- FIG. 3 shows a section along section line A according to FIG. 1 and the recess 94 for the bridging element of the key can be clearly seen here.
- the axis 90 of the lever 88 is arranged in a corresponding bore in the cylinder core.
- the contour of the key channel 15 can be clearly seen, the securing element 80 being wider than the contour of the key channel determined by the outer corners.
- FIG. 4 shows schematically the corresponding key of the cylinder lock explained with reference to the above figures.
- a bridging element 100 connects the key handle 16 to the key bit 4. Between the key handle 16 and the key bit 4 there is a free space 102 in which the securing element explained above can engage.
- An opening 104 is provided in the bridging element 100, through which the securing element 80 can, if necessary, engage upwards in the already explained further bore of the cylinder housing.
- FIGS. 1 to 3 which basically correspond to FIGS. 1 to 3, show the cylinder lock with the inserted and correct key, of which the key bit 4 and the key handle 16 can be easily recognized.
- the rear end 98 of the lever 88 was pushed down by means of the beveled key tip 106, the securing element 80 articulated on the front end 110 being displaced upward into the cylinder core 20.
- the length of the securing element 80 is at most the same size as the diameter of the cylinder core 20. This optimal dimensioning ensures that the securing element 80 can practically not be brought into the required release position if the wrong key or inadmissible aids are used.
- the length of the securing element must be at least as long as the height of the key channel 15 in order to ensure that it is completely shut off.
- both the securing element 80 and the lever 88 or its rear end 98 must be brought into a very specific position in order to be able to release the cylinder core 20 for rotation.
- the Securing element 80 reaches into the free space 102 between the key bit and the key handle 16 and completely blocks off the key channel 15.
- the securing element 80 also engages in the opening 104 of the bridging element 100.
- FIG. 8 shows an essential embodiment of the key 2, which is designed as a reversible key.
- Such reversible keys and of course the associated locks are used in particular in the automotive industry. It can easily be seen that the device according to the invention can be used in particular with cylinder locks with reversible keys designed in this way.
- the two bridging elements 100 ensure great stability. In this embodiment, too, there is no difficulty in specifying the cross section of the bridging elements 100 in the region of the free space in such a way that there is no weakening which would impair the stability and strength of the key 2.
- the section according to FIG. 9 of the corresponding cylinder lock clearly shows the corresponding design of the key channel 15 in connection with the cutouts 94 for the said bridging element.
- the securing element 80 articulated on the lever 88 is shown in the locked position. 8, the lever 88 is pivoted about its axis 90, with the securing element 80 being moved upward.
- FIG. 10 and 11 show an embodiment of the key 2 with a corresponding lock.
- the two bridging elements 100 are inclined upwards or downwards, with an overall approximately Z-shaped cross section in this area.
- the oblique arrangement of the cutouts 94 can be clearly seen.
- FIGS. 12 and 13 A special embodiment is shown with reference to FIGS. 12 and 13, which has an approximately U-shaped cross section.
- the upper and the lower bridging element 100 are each laterally offset in a plane parallel to the key bit 4.
- the free space 102 extends over the total height and width of the key bit 4.
